AW SHUCKS. good thing all violent men were waited on hand-and-foot as children and treated as tiny gods and merely decided to turn to punching bitches out of joy at their privileged position in society.

The research, which is limited, suggests women would fare better in short-term programs — perhaps as few as five sessions — to learn strategies to reduce stress and to hone coping skills.

So if you violently attack your partner and have a vagina, you need five sessions on honing your coping skills and squeezing a squishy stress-ball. But if you violently attack your partner and have a penis you need long-term intensive re-education.

Women should have different therapeutic programs, too, because domestic violence has such a profound impact on children.

Is it just me or does this sentence NOT MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE.

now the weight of evidence is forcing feminists to re-evaluate their views about gendered DV, but, feminists being feminists, women still have to be the victims. even when they are the ones using a spouse as a punch-bag......

I don't agree with the post, and I don't agree with changes being based on gender lines, but I think the idea itself has some merit. If we could look at each individual, and had the resources to treat on an individual basis, we would find different ways to work past the issues which turned them into an abuser. Ways that would work for them. For some specific, medically examined people, this might mean a less intense treatment program.

However, blanket prescribing a lesser degree of treatment based solely on gender is retarded.

I ask again: why is domestic violence even on the books? What does it cover that regular abuse, harassment, or other existing charges don't already handle? DV is nothing more than side-loaded hate crime charges used overwhelmingly against men.

This Wombyn is simply one who stands up and SAYS WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID. As I've mentioned earlier, crimes committed by Wombyn are generally coerced and/or manipulated by the pigs (men) (except me). Thus, they are not to blame and we would be better served to arrest the men around her (family, friends, acquaintances, coworkers, men she has passed on the street) to find out which pig has influenced her to act badly.
