So AFormidableContender has turned his sub, /r/GreenPillChat, into a platform to criticize /r/PurplePillDebate. I just wanted to clear the air for any of you that might be curious. This post is mine and mine alone. I feel like it's worth putting everything on the line in an effort to be transparent.

AFormidableContender was banned from our sub several weeks ago. In the PPD IRC, he doxxed and/or attempted to doxx several users. Subsequently, another user threatened to doxx in defense of one of the previously doxxed users. After this doxxing arms race, we decided to ban AFormidableContender for starting the whole thing (we had the chat logs to prove it).

AFormidableContender wasn't happy about his ban. He proceeded to report hundreds of innocent PPD comments, knowing that we have to manually approve all of those comments in the report queue. AFormidableContender did this for several days. He also created a series alternate accounts to evade shadow bans. AFormidableContender's alt accounts sent me several hostile messages and comments, two of which can be seen below:

The Admins were obviously involved, but I'll leave that part out since that's their business and not ours.

Fast forward to this week. AFormidableContender [posted a thread] in green pill chat accusing us of bias against "user x". Again to clear the air, I thought I would post our modmail log of our conversation with "user x".

Maybe this whole thing is a horrible idea, but I'm trying to be as open as possible. If you ever want to see screen shots of modmail or our moderation log, please message us.

Most importantly...

I wanted to say that we do give certain users leeway. Why? Because they work with us. What does that mean? It means that while they are frequently out of line, they can admit that they're out of line. Rather than blowing up modmail, they go back and edit their comments to conform to our guidelines. The primary reason people get banned is because they cannot show us basic human respect in modmail.
