A post by /u/cxj got me thinking about this in a more general sense.

It seems liberal/BP people tend to have a disgust toward inbreeding, especially on the extreme end in the case of incest. This is a wider range than simply the father/daughter example in the OP, whether its cousins or a generation removed. On the other hand, they tend to have an affinity or positive outlook on outbreeding and interracial relationships.

Conservative types however seem to have a disgust for outbreeding and interracial pairings. I have even seen some refer to it as beastiality. On the other hand, they have an affinity toward inbreeding, for example wanting to keep their race or ethnicity pure. They also tend to be more lax toward incestuous pairings.

As trend, incestuous pairings have become more and more taboo, while interracial pairings have become more and more in vogue as society becomes more progressive.

I guess this is just a discussion post, but its half racial, so I can only do it on purge week. Topics to discuss:

  • Are the differences in disgust and affinity related to ideology? Why or why not?

  • Are there any other dichotomies between ideologies with regard to disgust/affinity?
