One explanation I've heard is that it's impressive for a man to have many sexual partners because it requires more effort on the part of a man, who is expected to be the initiator. If a woman has many partners, then that indicates she has lower standards. This also indicates that she has less potential for a long term relationship because women lose their ability to truly connect with a partner after having been with many men, and is more likely to be unfaithful (this does not apply to men, according to TRP).

I have mixed feelings about this. The very first sentence makes some sense to me. Men are expected to pursue women in many Western cultures, and if a man is able to sleep with many women, then he likely has a high SMV. However, I don't believe that this is the cause of a man's elevated SMV (see: pre-selection), but rather a result of it.

As to the rest of it...I think it's hokum. A woman may not be expected to pursue men, but if many men select her then I believe that should also be an indicator of a high market value. Also, I see no reason why a woman who slept around in her youth should be regarded as a less worthy partner than a man with an equal number of partners. I have heard the "gatekeeper" explanation often enough, but I strongly disagree with it. Women alone cannot be the gatekeepers of sex, since healthy sex requires two consenting parties, and it is not unheard of for a woman to desire sex with a man who does not want to sleep with her. In the same way, men alone are not the gatekeepers of commitment--monogamy requires that both people be on the same page about the relationship. This explanation operates on the assumption that women will commit to any man who offers them a stable relationship, and that men will sleep with literally anyone, which simply isn't true.

If I'm wrong someone should correct me, but I think according to TRP a woman's SMV is almost entirely looks-based. If she has a lot of partners, she isn't good long-term relationship material.

It isn't. These concepts are generally meaningless.

Sexual Market Value and Married Market Value are ridiculous concepts for both men and women.

People marry or date for a number of reasons.

Human dynamics are extraordinarily difficult to quantify and measure.

Are there some universal traits that people think are beautiful or attractive? Probably.

But there are so many examples of people doing the opposite of the general trend, it essentially invalidates the premise.

If all people valued symmetry, athletic bodies, then why do little-people get marriage and live happy lives?

People with physical and mental disabilities get marriage, date and have deep meaningful relationships all the time.

What is the one constant among people who have deep, meaningful, lasting amazing relationships?

Love.

People who try to measure, quantify and figure out love are generally wrong.

There are some interesting studies on behavior and attraction, but it's like looking at a single brain cell and then summarizing the entire brain based on that single cell.

So, what should you do? Become a good person who loves and connects easily.

You will be naturally drawn to people who share your values, sense of humor and other qualities.

Seek love, compassion, understanding and personal growth.

i dont think this is true, a super hot woman's SEXUAL market value doesnt decline because of her N, many many many men will still line up to bang her in the club bathroom, her MMV (marriage market value) as an LTR or marriage does

How attractive is a man who never gets any? How much sex he gets is a degree of his alphaness, his value. Men are the chasers (95+% of the time), women are waiting around usually to be chased, that's why they shit test men. A woman may be very hot and able to get any man she wants, and may do so frequently, but she does so at the risk of reducing her capability to emotionally bond with a man via sexual contact (in effect, increasing risk of divorce and cheating behavior in a relationship/marriage). There is a statistical correlation between number of past sex partners and divorce risk.

The man is the chaser, remember, therefore from his perspective he wants to chase women who are good looking but not slutty. A man who is a good chaser has value, a woman who is often easily caught has less value. The reasoning is simple. Men are also the gatekeepers of commitment, and there is asymmetrical power over divorce in favor of women as well, so a slutty wife is more risky than a slutty husband to the integrity of the marriage itself. Most divorces are initiated by women, and some of the men who initiate one are being forced out via other means. So the relative sluttiness of a man is not as relevant to long term relationship stability (essentially, marriage is a contract in favor of women, and easily broken).

Lastly, one of a man's greatest fears is being forced to unknowingly raise another man's bastard child, thinking it is his own. Sluttiness is obviously a risk factor here too. Worst case scenario for a woman, he steps out and impregnates another woman. Worst case scenario for a man, he raises another man's child himself, making it far less likely he passes on his genes to anyone.

I'm very red pill, but that argument only holds true in small, conservative communities where everybody knows everybody's business.

For the most part, the theory does not hold up to my real world dating experiences. I always felt that newer, still-beta TRP guys used it as an excuse to avoid dealing with their sexual insecurities (i.e. they just avoid dating anyone with more sexual experience than themselves). Despite my extensive dating / relationship history I have not seen any direct correlation between number of previous partners and happiness in relationship.

Just my 2 cents.
