Bp doesnt stand for anything, they only make fun of RP

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But we need the ideological dimorphism!

No seriously, I like the ideological dimorphism. Even when there are no dual ideologies. Let's just pretend there is.

Bp doesnt stand for anything

The constant refrain of the coward. You know that if you say what you believe, someone might challenge you on it.

[–]VarsitySlutTeamCptI'm on mobile.0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep, i'm good to call myself rp and willing to bear both it's criticism and rewards

I think it's more that "blue pill" refers to literally everything that is not "red pill", which includes an extremely diverse set of beliefs and ideologies.

[–]nicethingyoucanthaveRed Pill Male0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nope. That's like saying that atheism refers to everything that isn't religion. Believe me, most atheists absolutely hate the atheism+ movement specifically because it adds in a whole lot of irrelevant shit.

There is an atheist position, just like there is a blue pill position. They're basically blank-slaters.

It's really not like saying that. TBP is explicitly a satire of TRP, there's nothing else about it. A better analogy would be like pretending "non-Christians" are a singular group of people, but it actually includes people of many different religious worldviews and ideologies. TBP is more like "non-Christian" in this analogy than "atheist" -- it's defined by not being something, rather than being something in particular.

As BP has no ideology of its own, I'll refer to it as "the opposite of Red Pill".

In that case, I think there are several main differences:

1) Views on relationships and dating. Red Pillers see dating as "game": treat it as a competition, believe that there are hard rules you need to follow in order to "win", pride themselves on "winning" (aka "scoring the chick"), consciously use various elaborate tactics and strategies which they base on pseudo-evolutionary psychology. In general, they tend to favour casual sex instead of a relationship since it requires less emotional investment and they tend not to see women as worthy and interesting partners. They have negative views on marriage since they see it as a way for a woman to bind a man legally.

Blue Pillers see relationships as part of their social life, which means that there are no hard rules or foolproof keys to success; they mostly go with the flow and don't see dating in the same coldly-calculating way as Red Pillers do. I wouldn't say that Blue Pillers prefer relationship over casual sex or the other way around, but they tend to have a more positive view on marriage and see it as an equal union instead of one that clearly favours the woman and has no advantages for the man.

2) Views on male and female sexuality. Red Pillers believe that all men inherently have a much higher sex drive than women. They use pseudo-evolutionary psychology to back up their claims that it's great for a man to have as many sexual partners as possible, but not so for women. They are fond of slut-shaming and judge women mainly by their sexual preferences and sexual history. They believe that all women want a dominant-subdominant type of sex and are willing to be submissive partners.

Blue Pillers don't have strict beliefs about which sex has a higher libido but believe that societal standards and slut shaming might be factors that limit female sexuality. They in general don't see women's virginity as a value on its own, but rather a preference that some people might have and others don't. They believe that sex is not something that shames women and they shouldn't be judged by their sexual history or preferences. They believe that some male or female individuals like dominant-submissive type of sex, yet it certainly can't be said about the entire gender.

3) Views on life and world in general.Red Pillers see the over-simplified version of world and life. They tend to see things in black-and-white, use stereotypes and generalizations to neatly put people in separate boxes based on their gender, race, social standing (alpha and beta, etc).

Blue Pillers tend not to rely on generalizations and stereotypes, they realize that people are individuals and it's impossible to sort them into drawers.

4) Views on women. Red Pillers enhance the differences between men and women to a ridiculous level, sometimes almost making themselves believe that men and women are completely different species. Thus they can't see women the same way as men - as people and individuals with personalities and intellectual purposes, someone you can have a meaningful conversation on equal grounds or make friends with.

Blue Pillers see women as people first and foremost (and individuals instead of one single-minded hive) and only then as "women" as in sexual targets. They don't let their attraction to women interfere with meaningful and respectful interacting with women on an intelligent, platonic level.

5) Viws on social status and hierarchy. (might overlap with the others a bit) Red Pillers favour strict hierarchy in society, based on a few levels: "alpha and beta" status, also enhance the importance of a man's "social status" (his career, mostly). They also support gender segregation by insisting that men and women have completely separate roles and should stick with them,They also support a bit more extreme version of traditional relationships, the Captain & First Mate type where only the man has the right to make important decisions and the woman has only a complementary voice.

Blue Pillers believe that "social status" is vague and ambigous and is not a reliable measure while deciding if a person is worth their respect. They don't believe in "alpha and beta" hierarchy or the hierarchy based on gender. They also believe that one's role or occupation in life depends solely on the individual's strengths and talents instead of being predestined by birth. They support equal, democratic relationships where both parties have equal say and no one's voice is more important than the other's.

Of course, these descriptions will not precisely reflect the view of all Red Pillers, nor all Blue Pillers, since even people belonging to the same ideology or movement can have differing views. But these are what I noticed the majority of Red Pillers to subscribe to.

BPers actually like the person they are in a relationship with instead of viewing the relationship as affirmation of their masculinity. They wouldn't be as insecure or obsessed with the idea that their partner is cheating.

[–]DevilishRogueKnows more than you0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Interesting. Not accurate, but interesting.

Blue Pillers are more likely to have a conventional relationship, commit to their partner, be honest with them about their thoughts, fears and beliefs and eventually get traded in for someone better.

Red Pillers are less likely to have a conventional relationship, unlikely to commit, keep personal information to themselves and sustain the relationship only so long as they benefit from it.

[–]solastsummer3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Why did you say my post was inaccurate?

Blue Pillers are more likely to have a conventional relationship, commit to their partner, be honest with them about their thoughts, fears and beliefs and eventually get traded in for someone better.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of one example in my friend group on college where one person got traded in for someone better. Most relationships that end, end because of a fight, people moving away, or some other drama.

Red Pillers are less likely to have a conventional relationship, unlikely to commit, keep personal information to themselves and sustain the relationship only so long as they benefit from it.

Or in other words, RPer's do not actually like the other person, are insecure about the other person leaving so they feel they need to find someone else, and are obsessed with the idea that their partner is cheating. If you were really alpha, you wouldn't be worried about your partner finding someone better.

[–]DevilishRogueKnows more than you-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You've addressed it in your above post:

If you were really alpha, you wouldn't be worried about your partner finding someone better.

That is RP, not obsessing about cheating or being insecure about your partner leaving.

[–]solastsummer4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

but then you wouldn't be worried about committing.

[–]DevilishRogueKnows more than you-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think there might be some sort of fundamental misunderstanding here of why RP'ers tend not to commit. It has nothing to do with the potential partner being unfaithful or leaving them for someone else and everything to do with taking advantage of an availability of multiple partners. RP'ers are certainly more judgemental than non-RP'ers about any woman they would chose to commit to but it would be a huge misunderstanding to confuse such ability to be discerning with fear of making the wrong choice.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why not just be poly then?

[–]DevilishRogueKnows more than you-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not all TRP'ers are looking for multiple partners.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Omg this is basically middle school style "break up with them first so that they cant break up with you" insecurity.

[–]DevilishRogueKnows more than you-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, it's almost the opposite i.e. breaking up a relationship that isn't meeting your needs rather than putting in disproportionate effort to make it work.

and eventually get traded in for someone better.

oh.

Interesting. Not accurate, but interesting.

Bluepill gives women what they say they want, Redpill gives women what they actually want.

[–]goatismycopilotPurple Pill Woman5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Ok. What do I want?

[–]PublicallyViewablePurple Pill Man-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well tell me what you want, and there's about a 75% chance you'll want the exact opposite.

Yeah, it's fine if you go hang out with your friends

Its not fine if you go hang out with your friends

I don't want anything for my birthday

I want something for my birthday

I just want a nice guy

I want a guy with confidence

[–]goatismycopilotPurple Pill Woman3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ha ha. Not really I am that weirdo who says what they want. You can't be nice and confident at the same time?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yikes. Sounds like youve been in a toxic relationship.

[–]PublicallyViewablePurple Pill Man-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah, only ever had 2 girlfriends, both short-term.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just want a nice guy

When we say "nice" guy, we mean a decent person who is kind and displays some basic respect for other people. We don't mean a complete doormat. Is that really too much to ask?

The rest of your "great and exact knowledge of what every woman wants" only applies to immature teenagers girls who like playing stupid games and/or don't know themselves what they want.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

... well

[–]mollymollykelkelBlue Pill Alpha1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

BP has no rhetoric therefore this question can't be answered.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

BP has no rhetoric

Being anti-TRP would count I suppose but that's very broad. What rhetoric of BP is official? The sidebar is all joke links and, hilariously enough, many of the contributers are in the anti-SRS camp so feminism is a no go.
