I was singled out for some reason in this post

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheBluePill/comments/1pj33b/hey_trp_trolls_before_you_whine_that_we_are_just/

This refers to a debate I had in TRP where one user claims literally 100% of the women he has gotten close to have been sexually assaulted, and that he constantly sees drugging and other date rape going on.

My response?

Two things:

  • Roofies are VERY uncommon right now. I sarcastically threw out '2 per year' without reference, but the true answer may be in that ball park.

  • Rape and sexual assault are not rampant everyday activities. I explicitly compare these to murder and robbery (both of which are more common than rape) as other 'non-everyday crimes'

So TBP's gripe:

How dare you say rape doesn't happen every day! No, you don't get to defend that by pointing to your equivalence to murder and robbery, because feels!

Look at these 6 roofie cases I found! Obviously you are wrong there too!

So... that's all they have.

I personally would honestly put roofie use at about 100 per year, but not even TBP can support that lowball figure. (For comparison, /u/BluePillSchool estimates roofie usage to be in 0.5% of all rapes, which would put it in the thousands per year). Yet they cannot support more than 6 individual cases they found on wikipedia.

And there is the vitriol of "ZOMG how can you not believe rapes happen every day?!!!"

Despite the fact that my statement was a direct comparison to murder and robbery, all TBP can go off of is this 'every day' hang up.

I think this is representative of the TBP.

No facts. Just feelz. TRP may not have a lot going for it, but at least they try to find studies and numbers.
