PUA is nigh-exclusively about dating, game and mindset, and about how that will help you getting what the women you want even if you're just average. It also includes a set of fallacious assumptions which are helpful to internalize if you want to get laid (looks aren't that important, girls want sex just as much as men, promiscuous women aren't worse for all the relationship-stuff than non-promiscuous ones) and encourages an overall actually pretty positive attitude towards women (as in: PUA encourages you to genuinely like them).

TRP is about game and mindset as well, but also about long-term gains by building up actual value (lifting, acquiring knowledge, becoming successful etc.); by learning what you can expect of women and how they may screw you over, and about worth of evaluating the worth of individual women beyond the very basic "is she hot and does she like sex?"-question.

The difference is intent. TRP wants to better yourself and as a byproduct you get chicks. PUA's want to get chicks so they do some of the things that TRP teaches.

An analogy would be a professional pool player. One type learns the game to make money, PUA's. The other learns to be the best they can be which has the tangential effect of winning and making money. They both play the game and make money but their reasons and motivations are completely different.

TRP focuses on telling men that they have defective social programming, and they should see women for what they are. Nothing more.

PUA's decide that they are going to react to this knowledge by cynically becoming as morally depraved as modern women.

It seems to me that the dating advice the PUAs offer is similar to the dating advice of TRP , except that PUAs don't focus so much on "biotruths" and assholey behavior in general.

PUA stresses short term sexual seduction, while TRP emphasizes building long term value. I think this difference was made readily apparent when PUA's bring up "studies" like women who stay in dates even though she's been "catfished" or set up with an ugly dude. The message is clear, you have an opening even though she's less than impressed with your looks.

To me PUA has always been shady or has had more incentive to be shady than TRP. You can sell "game" to a bunch of men with excess cash, and a lot of them do in fact sell that during their seminaries. You cannot "sell" long term value like exercise, good money management, and good professional choices.

It's short term vs long term (potential), value vs game.

Pick up artistry seems to mostly be just about techniques of how to get one night stands. TRP encompasses a whole lot more than that, and talks about how to deal with women in any situation, why women do certain things, and overall self-improvement and social skills.

The red pill community here on reddit though was originally a group that splintered off from r/seduction. They got fed up with all the tone policing from women and white knights trying to control the dialogue and shame people for doing and saying things that women didn't like. So they said fuck that and made their own sub where they wouldn't have to deal with that kind of shit as much.
