I'll be real. When I needed to loose 70lbs to join the military it was my mother who kept saying you're still fat. It did push me to work harder to the point she couldn't say it anymore. It wasn't meant to be malicious, and I took her at her word. She will tell anyone that she is fat. She has no reason to lie. When I was fat she just told me the truth. Basically she was saying keep working without saying it. Say what you will about that but I'm glad she did.

Being told that what you are and what you do is ok or even great can make someone complacent in their position, whereas on the contrary, telling someone they’re bad for doing something will make them avoid doing that thing if they care, which most people would care.
Sure it can be manipulated and used to make people worse off but can also help in situations like these where it’s not ok.
So yes, your satirical comment is actually correct, assuming the person is willing to listen and not throw a tantrum anytime someone disagrees with them, they will realise the error of their ways and change their life. It’s human nature.

It’s probably an unpopular opinion in this sub, but certainly not in general. I think that a lot of people in here fail to realize what qualifies as PPD content. Then, they unfairly get called misogynists or incels, but I think most of them are just missing the point of the sub.
This post has nothing to do with gender. It’s just someone insulting a girl because she’s fat. If they’re saying that people look past her weight solely because she is female, they are sadly mistaken. There are many obese, famous males who get praised all the time.
PPD is a generally negative sub that specifically targets women, so when people misunderstand it’s purpose they unfortunately sound like misogynists/incels. If the mods would just do their jobs then more people might understand how the sub is supposed to work.
