This is the result of a discussion between myself and /u/Camille11325, and is intended to be fuel for a discussion where you can discuss Dread game, and propose your ideas on stages of dread in a similar way to the structure used by TRP. Feel free to disagree with my assessments, of course!

Dread game for women:

What is dread game? The basic premise is set out in post like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/2l7pqe/the_12_levels_of_dread_the_rules_for_any_long/

Reading it, the surface impression draws the eye - and indeed dread game gets a lot of criticism from The Blue Pill and other critics of TRP. We should dig beyond the surface impression of a negative sounding name and arguments about manipulation and ask what is the point, the purpose, if we are to construct an equivalent for women in relationships.

My point of view is that the aims can be summarised as wanting:

  • to be desired, genuinely
  • to have a harmonious relationship in which your needs are fulfilled
  • to have options if your relationship is unsalvagable, and rather than simply pulling the plug, assessing the level of dysfunction and salvagability.

Not so sinister really. Men are not good with nuance, so language on sorting their shit out and cutting through denial can't always be gentle. That doesn't mean it is perfect, I'm not interested in dissecting the male approach here, but the initial impression needs questioning.

What all of the three points above have in common is they are addressing an unsatisfactory status quo. Dread game is arguably an attempt to communicate that dissatisfaction in a non-verbal manner and judge by the response if the status quo can be fixed through self improvement or prompting behavioural change.

So, from this basic principle, and through the same channels identified above, a formulation of a feminine approach to the same can be formed. Female dread, for the sake of easy terminology, although the emotion 'dread' is not the key point.

So, the male version focusses on desire as a gateway to sex. For the sake of this, I'm going to assume that the key aim for women out of a LTR is commitment, not sex. Obviously many women like sex and some of this involves sex, but it's not the objective.

There are two forms of escalating bargaining of this form which jump immediately to mind:

  1. for women dating, moving towards greater commitment

  2. for women in a LTR, dealing with issues with their partner.

DISCLAIMER

read the posts about covert contracts and transactional thinking! The point of Female dread game is NOT bargaining. The changes caused may be provoked or catalysed by your behaviour, but ultimately you can only control yourself, and if you do not get the desired response you need to think about the implications in terms of vetting. If you're in a marriage, the consideration may be you just have to accept you fucked up on vetting, and that element of your relationship which is unsatisfactory isn't going to change, so your only remaining option other than divorce is to change your attitude.

So, what are your thoughts on the staged approaches for dating or in a LTR, respectively?
