I met my last ex at a wedding. I dropped the handkerchief. He was a groomsman and my sister was a bridesmaid and I’d had my eye on him the whole day. At some point I asked him if he knew where my sister was and he said he’d help me look for her. Basically just find a really good excuse to talk to a guy and if he finds you attractive he will be willing to help. Good eye contact before talking to him can help establish if he finds you attractive. It’s nerve wracking to make the first move for sure so I like to make sure I won’t get rejected by sharing glances before talking to them.

Met the guy I’m currently dating on an app, they’re a good supplement. Try not to internalise them not pursuing it further, you just weren’t the right one for them. I think it helps to go on hella dates so you’re just desensitised to it lol.

Go out and do lots of stuff! I was recently on holiday and i made this one cafe my breakfast spot and after a few days the waiter asked me for my number, so I also recommend trying to be a regular somewhere. People are more likely to interact with a familiar face. I took tennis lessons last summer and quite a few people from there started dating, so anything sporty snd interactive is a good activity.

I’ve done both. I’ve actually had more success on dating apps. I’ve met nice guys in real life but never been interested enough to keep seeing them. Apps is definitely a numbers game but as I’ve gotten older and can date men in their mid to late twenties, my experience has improved. This round I basically went on around 10 different first dates, then did a second if we both liked each other enough for a second, then same for a third… etc. until I had 2 people who were ready to take it to exclusivity/relationship and I then chose from them. I obviously weeded out men who seemed like frat boys or weren’t doing anything with their lives or even just seemed way out of my league

Not sure if this is the best approach or if my current relationship will work out but I got a boyfriend after around a month of dating and we’ve been going for a few months.

Do you use dating apps and meet someone interesting or your friends set you up with somebody? How the date go? Dating apps should be taken with a grain of salt. They’re basically a numbers game. You need to stay fairly active on them in order to turn out any sort of “reward.” If you’re fine with that, then go for it. Meeting people through friends or social events is also a good way to find someone because, chances are, the two of you will have something (friend or activity) in common. I met my husband on a dating app. You kind of have to feel out the guys to see if they are really in to you or just want to hookup. I talked to him via app, text, and phone for a couple weeks before agreeing to meet up in person. He didn’t get angry or impatient. He was understanding and sweet and waited for me to trust that he wasn’t a critter.
