The female sexual imperative is usually described as getting married to an alpha/high beta man to protect and provide for you and your children. The classic timeline is that women go from being sexual objects in their youth to respected mothers/matriarchs as they age.

But the fact is children arent in the cards for a lot of us by that through choice or through circumstance.

Personally I cannot have kids. Even if my future husband and I were to go through the strenuous and financially difficult process of surrogacy with another womans egg the baby still wouldnt be mine genetically. Adoption seems incredibly difficult in my country not toin mention the fact most orphans here were abandoned for having a disability and I dont know if im able for that kind of responsibility.

Motherhood just doesn't seem very likely for me. As such achieving the "female imperative" is obviously impossible. How stable can a marriage really be when its just going to be the two of us for decades? What reason does any man possibly have for marrying a women who cant bare kids? If all I bring to the table is sex he can get that elsewhere.

Im not looking for a pity party just advice on alternative goals to pursue if the traditional "female imperative" is out of reach. Should I stop pursuing marriage so adamantly since its pointless without children? Should I marry for companionship instead? Should I marry an older established man since a companion probably wont stay with me into his old age without children?
