This is my first actual post here after following and reading up on rpw behaviors and whatnot for a few years. I apologize now if this sounds/looks super unorganized or like I'm rambling, but I just have to get this all out here and before I leave for work. Plus, I'm not sure who to go to other than my mother, so I wanted to talk with you ladies and get some help/advice as soon as I could.

So to begin, I'm 22 and dating an awesome guy who will be 26 here soon. We met on Tinder (and didn't hookup!) April of '16. There's been distance between us our entire relationship. I was living with my parents 45 minutes away from him until last December where I moved about 15 minutes closer. I will be moving to a new apartment again and should only be about 20 minutes away. Anyway, we've only been able to see each other about once a week this whole relationship, due to distance and our work schedules.

We're avid hikers. We hike almost every weekend we can and we do a lot of 14ers. That was the main thing we have in common, other stuff being music, humor, love of hoppy beers, stuff like that. We also have our own hobbies (he's super into sports, I'm into going to the gym. He plays guitar, I cook and bake). He was never much of a complimenter or all that affectionate, but that was okay because I didn't need it all the time and it's just simply not who he is. I initiated sex almost every time and he's never had to ask for a blowjob. My sex drive is higher, but I was still being satisfied enough. Within the past twoish months though he's been telling me I look nice a lot and being more touchy. I've always known my feelings were stronger than his (I just feel a lot in general, so no biggie), but lately it's been feeling much more mutual, so when we talked last night it was a huge surprise.

He works at a bank and just recently got promoted. He stresses easily where I never ever seem to, so I thought I was helping him. Last night we talked on the phone and he said things feel boring between us, everything feels monotonous, he's very stressed about this new position, seeing his family (he's from Iowa and we're in Colorado) and apparently he has thought about moving back there in the future, which I knew nothing about. He said the whole, "it's not you, it's me" thing and also that I initiate sex too much and almost give him too much head (though he says it's the best and I don't doubt it hehe). That'll be easy for me to cut back on because it's not thaaaat necessary. I love it, but I don't need it every time. Piece of cake.

We talked for awhile about this and it almost felt like we were breaking up over the phone. We've never had an argument and things have been easy, so I told him that this must be the first test of our relationship. Clearly we haven't had to work through a fight, but our relationship couldn't be perfect and we need to get through something together if we want it to be a healthy and lasting relationship. Although I haven't felt bored, I told him that it's normal for a person to and that it can be fixed. We just need to find another hobby to do together since we only really have hiking. Every time we go out, it's usually to try a new brewery and get some food. I said we should maybe try doing new things. We've never gone to the movies or bowling for a date, so something like that might help. I suggested that maybe he change up his routine a bit too. I said maybe he can join a basketball team, wake up a little earlier so he can get chores done before work and relax at home or so he can do some stretching and practice some more mindfulness. He can even try cooking his own meals (he eats out almost every meal, aside from when I cook for him). He has yet to reply (we talked all through the night and then I sent super long texts this morning before work, so he won't get to it until later).

This was probably too much information. It might sound silly or dumb, but this is my first real relationship and I just don't know what else to do. I don't want to give up on him/us just yet. So pleeeeeease please please tell me what I NEED to hear and what I can do to help fix things (if things are fixable). Thank you so much in advance
