Why? My husband and I went straight from strangers to dating. Waiting around to get to know a girl first is how you end up friendzoned. Make your intentions known from the beginning and you won't have that problem.

Not saying that being friends first is bad, but if a guy wants to date a girl he should woo, not wait.

I think you're right here. Obviously we want men that find us good looking but we don't want the attraction to be just skin deep. Anytime a guy has ever asked me out without knowing much more than my name (this happened a lot in high school), I would turn him down.

I'm not saying the guy has to spend days or weeks getting to know me, but I want him to be attracted to a bit more than just looks because those will fade some day. Not saying I will let myself go when I'm married, far from it, but when we are both eighty we better have something interesting to talk about together.

Besides, I'm religious so I figured most guys would want to run away once they learned that, so I consider myself to be doing them a favor potentially.

Looks attract...so you're potentially blowing off suitors for the very reason a they are even going to risk approaching you, basically classifying yourself as someone undatable..yes looks fade, that's why your character matters in the long run.

For me, I see that I find you attractive, then I want to get to know you. Your thought process is ass backwards, yea as a woman you'd like to get to know a man before going out with him. For us men (me anyways) it's hey she's hot..I wonder what she's like. If I approach you based on your looks it's because I want to know you better and if you shoot me down, I won't be back.

Wrong. If I already know her and I start trying to woo her she's just gonna get weird because we already established that "friends" boundary.
