I need guidance.

I am in a state of complete disillusion. I am getting a divorce at the age of 27 after only one and a half years of marriage. I walked into it with so much hope but also an almost arrogant confidence that I of course could make a marriage work. I believed so much in marriage as an institution... I subscribe to traditional values. I read "The surrendered wife" and thought "I got this!". Therefore, I rushed into marriage.

It will not go into details here about why it ended, unless you ask me to. Safe to say, it did not turn out the way I hoped. I am in a very humbled state. In a way I am grateful because I feel like I see myself and my flaws so clearly and learn from them.

I feel like the best way to go forward is nun mode. It would be so tempting to just try to erase the past and forget it ever happened by moving on quickly. But I know I need to be in the right state of mind first. This is where I should probably add that I am already healthy and take care of myself. I am also working on improving my personal style. I also go to therapy.

Now I want to ask: Have any of you got similar stories? What advice can you give a woman who is single again at the age of 27? And when in nun mode, is it good to try to think about the sort of partner I should look for, or is it better to not think about men at alle but just focus on self improvement?
