There are tons of really nice board games out there for two people. There are "Legacy" versions of popular titles like Pandemic, Betrayal at House on the Hill where the board changes as you play through episodic scenarios. These are expensive, running in the $50-$100 range.

I think planning outings based on his interests is fun. Maybe a car show? A murder mystery dinner? A classic movie showing at an artsy theatre?

I always love experiences. But, I also love planning a more elaborate date night for my husband. I’ll make his favorite foods, get his favorite drinks and we’ll do something he enjoys.

Could be fun if you got him a few unique vintage games and y’all had a game night. Some music on in the background, great food & drinks. And with at home dates, the best gift can always be given to cap off the evening if you know what I mean.

This is where I always default to making stuff. Baking, buy a cute tin or box to wrap it in, add a cute bow, and make a card. You don’t have to spend lots of money to show that you put in a lot of effort.

My boyfriend is in his early 40s and objectively speaking, he’s a HVM, which means that he can get himself pretty much anything he wants. Even by his own admission, that’s why it’s tough to gift him stuff.

In any case, he likes vintage stuff, board games and cars, so I found this 3D puzzle of a vintage car that I think he might like, but I don’t know if it’s too lame, so any of your thoughts would be really welcomed
