Hello again! Firstly, thank you for all the responses to my last post. The responses were great and insightful. Honestly, I became a little overwhelmed by the responses and did not take the chance to thank you ladies and men so while late, THANK YOU!

As for my question, "How do I become more approachable?" Could someone ELI5 and really break it down please? I have read other threads where people advised making eye contact and smiling, but what I have noticed is nearly no one makes eye contact. I am walking down the street, sitting on the train, or working/reading at a cafe, but more times than not people are walking with their eyes down, are on their phones, reading, engaged in their conversations/work, etc. Am I just not looking enough or staring long enough? I will throw glances a few times (to people in general), but no one ever looks up. Am I just lacking presence/charisma? What are some other ways I could come off as more approachable without going into creepy?
