As someone who got married young and only had one boyfriend before I don’t know how valuable my advise would be.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with dating around. Just don’t have sex with them and don’t stick around if you can see it won’t go anywhere. And be sure to listen to what they are telling you. If you start dating a guy who is like “yeah I don’t really see the value in marriage” then don’t stick around. This is where I think not having sex is a big thing. Women go all nuts when they start sleeping with the guy. They feel like they have too much invested now. I’ll read relationship advice and the question is like “we’ve been dating 3 months and there’s a giant red flag but I feel like I can’t leave”. That’s because they’re already sleeping together. Hold off on that until you have a commitment (I personally believe it should be marriage, but those are my values ).

As for meeting people - I like dr Laura’s advice. Go be a part of things you enjoy and you’ll naturally meet guys who have the same interests. Like if you like hiking, join some hiking groups. Or whatever things you’d be interested in.

At 21, that is one partner every 2 years if you had sex at 17, less if you didnt.

Moral of the story - no quality man is going to give a fuck.

And no quality man is going to believe your N-count anyway.

If you’re really wanting the next one to be the last one, bring up all your non negotiables as quickly as possible. Then you won’t waste time dating someone who won’t work out. It’s not personal. They don’t want kids? Okay, bye. Etc. whatever your non negotiables are.

Massive respect for you honestly, coming from a guy, because you're right smv decreases the more partners you have.

Tough in these days especially because finding a good guy (or girl) is not easy. I would suggest identifying your values and things important for compatability and having discussion about it early on and continuing to assess the guy based on that.

Work on yourself. Don’t focus on dating too much, and just put your energy into bettering yourself. Also, what was a green light for me is my SO never asked about how many I’ve slept with before him. I think a quality man won’t interrogate you on that. They will be more concerned with other stuff like how driven your are or kind.

And watching my other friends, don’t screw around on the first dates of course. Two of my friends do this and never can find a serious partner

I don't want to ruin my chances of getting a quality man

What is a quality man to you? I am not asking you to regurgitate what you read, look into yourself and tell us, what is a "quality" man? How does an average day of a quality man with you look like? What is your role in that day and what is his and what is (this part is often left out, imho) the role of you two together as a couple (the 3rd half of the pair saga)?

I was like you with the same thinking and placed a lot of importance on sexual count (I have my whole life). Like you, I also waited and was careful but I picked really incompatible men.

The simple conclusion is that you can do everything right, but still be unable to control this aspect because it involves another person. Placing so much importance on this will leave you more likely to be clouded in the vetting process, since you’re hyperfocused on the goal of getting hitched to the next man you give yourself to.

My advice is to build more self-esteem in other areas of your life so you recognise you have value beyond sex. Take things slow since you’re fairly young and don’t be so quick to rush your goal. You’re still learning about yourself.

Btw, having two LTRs is not undesirable. It’s only undesirable if majority of your past partners are casual.
