Hi! I've lurked a good while and I can't express enough appreciation for you all. This sub has been such a breath of fresh air for me :) Onto my question. In the past my SO has done a few things that made me and our family not a priority in that moment. He has since corrected the actions, apologized and has not done anything since to make me question his priorities. The trouble is, I can't seem to truly trust him to not do that again. My mind seems to see them as lessons and won't let it go even though he's proven that that is not how he'd like to conduct himself in the future. The most recent one was over 6 months ago. I feel like such a terrible partner not being able to let go of this even after all this time. Help?

Edit to clarify: Thank you for the helpful responses! I'm sorry I didn't include these details as I thought this might be a universal thing that everyone experiences from time to time. His side of our relationship is open. Not to other relationships, but for occasional sexual variety. It has been this way for 6 of the 13 years we've been together and has bettered our relationship dramatically. He has no other vices.
