I married a man from the American upper class, including the generational wealth you say you want. My answer to you is that if you don’t already live in those circles you don’t have much of a chance. By and large they marry their peers, and they move in a world that you can’t even begin to understand. (Example: one of my husband’s boarding school friends owned a racehorse that came within one loss of winning the Triple Crown.)

You are much better off going to a decent college and finding a good boyfriend there. Every Big Ten school churns out a billion good-looking business grads a year; marry one of them and be a good wife and you will have a perfectly satisfactory life. It ain’t the Gettys, but it ain’t bad.

1: How old are you now?

if I make 40k a year how would I attract someone who makes 90k or 6 figures?

2: the hypergamy idea of dating "up" is a half truth. I say that because it assumes men look for the same traits as women in romance. Namely status (wealth, connection, power in this case.) So in that trait alone, yes she is dating "up"...beyond her own status.

3: ....but she isn't dating up in her sexual/romantic value, so in that case it is false. To a man the three traits he desires for a long committed relationship are feminine health/ beauty, nurturing warmth, rarity (her sexual selective-ness) in any "hypergamous" relationship what is really happening is a trade of typically those three traits to his three (masculine health/beauty, protector instincts, and status) with more gold digger types focusing more on his status over the balance of the three.

4: because of the above I'm going to give you a warning. If you believe the feminist lie and wait till 30-35 to date seriously your value in the trade is drastically diminished and it is highly unlikely you will get a man of high status to commit beyond casual sex.

Went through your post history. You're a teen. I don't know how old you are, but please be careful. You're still so young to be having thoughts like these.

Money is power. When you depend on someone for money, they will have power over you. At a tender age, you're more vulnerable. It's easier for rich men to prey on you. Many women remain in abusive and unhappy relationships because they can't afford the lifestyle themselves.

My advice to you is work on becoming financially stable. There are so many things that you can do.

Yes, it is wise for a woman to marry up, especially if she should have kids, but it's important for her to be able to stand on her own two feet in case if anything should go wrong.

Check out School of Affluence on YouTube. She gives great advice it's not only about looking for a wealthy man but also elevating yourself. I wish I found someone like her to listen to when I was younger. Hope this helps.

These are contradictions. If these things were truly what you cared about, you would achieve them yourself instead of looking for a man who can do it for you.

I’m not saying your desire is wrong, I’m saying you need to be honest with yourself. You want to live comfortably, and you either don’t want to, or aren’t able to work in a way that provides that for yourself. This is a materialistic desire at its core.

Being honest with yourself is important when finding what you’re looking for. It all starts internally.

The honest statement here is “I want to be wealthy but I want someone else to do it for me”. You’re a gold digger, or at least that’s what you sound like in this post.

The best place to meet wealthy single men is in college. Once you’re out of there, almost all of them are either married, intentionally unmarried, or at places that your salary cannot afford to go.

You should try to meet a man before they are wealthy in order to have the best chance with them. Otherwise there is very little chance that you meet and inspire the love of a wealthy man as an unwealthy woman.

Maybe I can give you the insight from the other side. I am in top 10% earner in my country. I also know a few people that are millionaires. Mind you, there is significant wealth difference between a top earner and generational wealth. Outside of hyper success, inheritance beats everything.

If I want to date, I look for 2 types:

.1. A few years under my age (I am mid 30). She needs to have a career, maturity, show kindness, compassion and be able to connect with me. Fit and somewhat attractive.

.2. In her early - mid 20'. She needs to be attractive, communicative and energetic.

If I do it online, I don't mention anything about financials. I prefer meeting women on a social setup while doing something I enjoy (e.g. carting, yoga, mountain climbing, swimming, chess).

It's very rare that men can find someone like type 1. So we settle for 2. She is young so he can develop into type 1. If not, we enjoy good sex and start over later.

Another point is that might be helpful is to recognize future success of a man. You can look at all the wealthy women which are/were married to hyper successful men. Steve Job's wife or Jeff Bezos's wife. They met when they started their business journey and married once the men were successful. Could they have "dropped" them and find someone younger / more attractive? Absolutely. But that's not how it works.

Successful men are busy. They don't have much time to fool around. But any man has needs. If you are there for him, comfort him, be there while he thrives, he will return the favor. Once he is already successful is much much much more difficult to get into his range. Because your competition is harsh and successful men are generally not stupid to commit into a potentially one-way deal.
