RPW, I'm having a difficult time understanding relationship dynamics.

I have historically been the one who has chased a man only to have a heart broken. The upside is that there was always attraction or some sort of "goal" or chase that kept me going. It usually ends in the boy telling me I need to be less clingy and "be happy."

I'm now in a period of my life where I have improved myself, I'm happy with myself and working on being more receptive, vulnerable, and "passive" in the courting game. HOWEVER now I feel incredibly strange when I let a man chase me or court me. I know I need to respect my value and let him initiate meetings instead of giving too much and being taken advantage, but when I switch dynamics, I don't have the attraction anymore.

Basically, when I'm genuinely happy with my life and not being needy, in a sense I don't feel like I need a man, which is sad. But of course I do because I love affection and I love masculinity. It's just difficult to find this balance between being content with being alone but also opening myself to a man in my life.

I don't understand. Is it me? Can RPW advise?

tldr: When I'm not clingy and I'm genuinely happy with myself, I don't have tingles for a man anymore. In a sense I NEED to be clingy in order to have attraction present.
