Btw I didn’t make any friends in college either. Living with my parents and going straight home after class. You’re definitely not alone in that.

Full text: It’s silly but I’m nervous! It’s almost become a tradition for women to graduate and wear a white dress. Year after year (I’ve been going to the same school for 4 years, undergrad + masters) I’ve seen gorgeous girls wear white dresses for their grad photo shoots around this time of year. It looks really nice! However, another part of me has always wanted to wear a pink dress to have my Elle Woods moment because she really drove home my love of pink and how to carry myself as a feminine woman in whatever situation. I love femininity, I love pink!

I think the reason I’m so torn is because I’ve never done the usual, traditional stuff. I didn’t have a traditional college experience, I didn’t join clubs, I didn’t even make college friends (yup), I’d just go to class and run home afterwards lol. So I think like for one day maybe I could just be a typical college girl and wear the white dress, have that ONE experience. I already have so many regrets over my college years and wish I had done more. But I don’t know if the white dress is true to me! But I think it’d be nice to have one typical college girl experience since I have none! That’ll make my heart happy too, like yay I at least did one thing lol. And yes I’m posting here for advice cause I have no friends LOL. Both dresses are the same style just in light pink or white.

So can any kind girls tell me what they’d do in my shoes? Any advice?? TIA. 🌸🥹

It's sounds like this is a case of FEAR of fomo (not even actual fomo haha). In which case I think you're overthinking it. You do you and wear the pink. Trust me, when you look back you'll be happier that you put your stamp on your moment, than if you fit in with a crowd and culture you don't identify strongly with.

I have personal experience with going with something for the sake of "that's what you're meant to to do" and not wanting to regret missing out on it later. It really wasn't me at all, and I regretted it big time.

Yes it's a big and important moment, so make it your big and important moment. Not someone else's.

You could always get a very light pink dress that would look almost white! I wore blush for my wedding because I didn't want to wear white (with my skin tone I'd look sickly in white) but in photos it's so close you can barely tell it's pink.

If it's a huge tradition (like wearing white on your wedding day) then go for the tradition.

If it's something you were hoping to do for many years since you were young, then go for the tradition.

However, wearing a pink dress to have Elle Woods moment (which sounds like something you care about) doesn't sound atypical at all and can totally be a "college girl thing". I think you would have more regrets if you didn't stay true to who you are.
