This community gave me some great advice/points to think deep about within my marriage from my last post. I've come to the conclusion that my husband loves me very much, but he does not respect me. I've noticed that is how his entire family interacts with one another. Intense amount of love but zero respect.

Whenever I try to talk to him about his intense reactions to small things, he tells me I know he has anxiety so I have to deal with it, but he refuses therapy for the anxiety. I'm at the point where I can't live the rest of my life walking on eggshells so as not to trigger him.

My next point is that we don't exactly have the same vision for finances. We agent having children, so the world is essentially our oyster. I agree with him that it's important to save and plan for retirement, but not at the expense of not living. I no longer ride horses because he says it's too expensive. I don't get to make improvements on our home. I cant get a landscaper, but I'm expected to do all the mowing and gardening. I want to travel to Europe and he says we will do it... when we retire!!!!! We ate in our early 30s and have a hearty savings and multiple investments. I don't want to work and wait until I retire to live! I tried putting together a girl's trip in October, hoping things will open up and he told me it wasn't happening because he didn't want to spend that kind of money (it was less than $1000 for an all inclusive resort). We have the money, he just dictates how our money is spent.

I don't want to give up on my marriage, but I can't keep going. I don't know what next steps should be.
