Don't go out of your way to be selfish and narcissistic
Just do what you want but don't give a fuck what others think, don't be a doormat, and don't seek approval.
[–]brinkleybuzz17 points18 points19 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This. Some of the biggest pricks I've known were weak men who acted that way to hide their insecurities.
[–]Endorsed ContributorWoujo5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I call it "benign selfishness."
Be selfish but only to the extent that it doesn't hurt other people. Don't lie to people, make promises you can't keep, make people wait on you, cheat, etc... You are open about putting yourself first, and she can either join or not join. As long as you are not hurting her or making her feel bad, she will probably want to join.
Taking shit from people is not alpha; it shows dependence and neediness. A guy who dicks over people for fun is just showing he is insecure and needs something to fill his soul.
[–]GenieGenius[S] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
Exactly this, but those things are obviously naturally selfish and that's the point. If you want to be successful you need to be willing and capable of being selfish, not only that, but women find it extremely intoxicating and desperately seek the sexual approval of a man who acts, talks, and thinks like he doesn't need her to be happy or have fun because they want his approval and to validate their own low sense of self worth because they know deep down that their only real value to men and society revolves around their vagina and has very, very little to do with their value as a person or individual.
[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
+1. One thing I‘ve learned is just how valuable the validation is of high/increasing value guys. I realized I was reflexively (from conditioning) freely offering my attention to women (in the form of non-sexual eye contact, gestures etc). I stopped doing this. The effect is incredible.
[–]GenieGenius[S] 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Women desperately seek the genes of a protector/warrior when it comes to sex. It's because women are weak and understand what weakness feels like so they juxtapose that against a man who is strong and independent. The more strength and independence he has to craft his own destiny and eliminate threats/competition, the more attracted she'll be sexually because she wants the genes of a man who will provide a son who will then grow up to be a strong provider for her. Women crave the idea of making a masculine man with social proof and abundance to submit to them and she'll use your son as a surrogate for that if she can't do it to you.
Feel free to offer your attention to her if she fits your frame but only then. If you don't have the ability to walk away from the interaction without compromising your frame then her pussy will dry up, she essentially wants a strong man that she can live her own life through by attaching herself to him and reaping the rewards of his labor and status without having to put in any work herself (e.g. Women are weak and crave attention and validation from strong men who don't need her because she herself envies that power and the fact that she is a slave to how the group perceives her).

Wouldn't they just lose interest then?
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link
Let me put it this way:
You’re in a room with two equally attractive women. One is fawning over you. She does things for you in a needy way, seeking your approval. She gives you “please like me” vibes.
The other is civil enough with an air of superiority. She tolerates your presence. Nothing you do elicits even the slightest reaction. Who you are (character/SMV) is not enough. She’s just not impressed. She more or less behaves as if you didn’t even exist.
Of the two, which do you desire more?
I’ve noticed women’s confusion at my lack of groveling, at my non-attachment and non-neediness. I simply don’t need or want them to like me in any way.
This ends up with them trying to “win me over” (get small bits/doses of validation) they do things for me, smile at me, initiate conversation, deliberately move towards my orbit, et al. They want a response. They want attention. I play the coquette/push-pull (mostly push) game if I want to escalate.
My aloofness generates in them a genuine (as opposed to negotiated) desire and interest in me.
One such woman described me (edit: over drinks) as “quiet.” Very subtle social shaming tactic to try to get your validation. Don’t take the bait.

You're talking as if we were women
[–]vast_rightwing 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
No kidding. I don't enjoy being fucked with. All else equal, the girl who shows interest wins me over. That being said, odds are if one is aloof and the other is chasing, good chance they aren't equals
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In my example, the second girl isn’t fucking with you. She just isn’t into you. And you got it: she turns out to be of higher value (when I referred to attractiveness, I meant the physical). Hence your inevitable desiring her more.
[–]22Luika0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't work like that,dude.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
You may have missed my point. It’s this: we want what’s above us, what we can’t have, what enhances our life rather than detracts from it. Neediness detracts from our lives and the lives of high value women. Aloofness, independence, purpose and gravitas, among other traits, evince value.
[–]22Luika 1 points1 points1 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I agree. But in the other hand,i couldn't give less of a fuck if that girl that doesn't reciprocate as well as the other one it's a whale and don't attract me sexually. We are not woman in that regard. At least that's what i think about it.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree that we’ll settle for less than what we want most if we are genuinely desired by the comparatively lower value option.

If you are worried about not being approached by women you are already in the wrong mindset. Women are like dogs, they can smell desperation. If you are not familiar with the concept of abundance mentality, look into it.
Be outcome independent and go out to have fun either with male friends or by yourself. If you need a more detailed explanation of any of these concepts I'll be more than happy to provide some info tomorrow since I have a test due today.

[–]GenieGenius[S] 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link
You'll win a hell of a lot more by refining yourself to pursue your own goals rather than to be a worker drone for some faceless conglomerate or a bored wife who gives you starfish sex once a year. Not only that, but you'll win more and more and people will begin to support you out of their own selfish desire to take part in your success or emulate it for themselves, people like that are the ones who OWN the conglomerates and OWN your wife's throat when you're away at work being a good little drone for someone willing to be more selfish in their pursuits than you.
In any case, prescribing to the prosaic philosophy of "just be a good person and good things will always happen to you" is a strategy doomed to fail. If you're unwilling to undercut your competition in order to price or perform them out of the market you yourself will be the one on the chopping block, this is true for everything in life involving competition: sports, jobs, interviews, school, dating, etc. ad nauseum. We ALREADY live in a selfish world and always have, we need to wake up to that so we don't become angry, depressed, and apathetic old men who can't fathom why being good little boys who always put others needs before our own didn't get us any respect, sex, or power while violent, aggressive, selfish old men laugh at how easily it was for them to consistently get all three. And then we die and nothing we ever did matters to anyone, having lived our entire lives in denial of our own masculinity and testosterone.

I don't disagree as an ideal of approach but it is naive. You and everyone needs to understand that loss is unavoidable. If we head into every situation with this subscription we will lose more than win, power is realized not expected. Think of a woman's entitlement, that's what this is.

Power is wherever people think it is. If everyone thinks you're a pussy slaying pimp or a rich bachelor it hardly matters what you actually are if you can simply play the role and give the perception of being those things. We become what we consistently do, say, and think about. There is no such thing as innate power, men are after all crafted rather than born, so there will always be a painful barrier you must cross at least a little bit each time outside of your tried and true comfort zone if we wish to progress. A perfect fake and the real thing are, by definition, completely identical and realized in the exact same way.

His first paragraph says to not care about what other people think. Then he spends over a hundred words explaining his post to you because it sounded like you disagree with his conclusion. Sounds like he really cares what you think about him and his thoughts. He is going to argue his point incessantly to anyone who comments with a disagreement, even if the disagreement is only perceived as a disagreement. Those are not the actions of someone who doesn’t care what other people think of him.
[–]GenieGenius[S] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well I'm here to discuss and be disagreed with. I've been ruminating over this for quite some time and it just makes perfect sense. In fact, the most successful people I've met, in terms of business and sexual relationships, are people who act entirely selfishly. This isn't to say that they are evil or bad people, simply that they always ALWAYS place their own opinion about things over anyone else's and do what they like irregardless of other people's opinions. They are very straightforward about what they think and could care less if you disagree with them, naturally this is due to experience and information, not chicanery and pretense.
I think that many men here on TRP are desperate for agency and control in their lives but they seek it from the world without rather than the world within, and that is a selfish world because it is a reflection of what you are as a person and what your deepest desires are. In that deep abyss, men are afraid of their own darkness, without realizing that those are merely shadows cast from internal objects they've placed in front of their own inner light, like the Moon eclipsing the Sun and casting a shadow on the Earth, the light isn't gone, merely obstructed by that which was invisible without it. This region of being is the foundry from which our willpower flows and it is a holographic projection of who we are, which is divine. Our fear of ourselves is what truly scares us, that we are truly so powerful to speak and move into being any thing we wish if we allow ourselves to.
By being selfish, you can truly own your being and be yourself completely without any apology or anxiety, allowing you to rise above the illusion that you can only work a job that's this good, fuck a girl that's this hot, or get a body that's this ripped. When you do that, your kindness actually MEANS something because you don't need to use it to get what you want out of life because you're the captain of your own ship. You don't ask the ocean if it will lower its waves to let you pass, you build a ship and crew strong enough to navigate her with ease and come out of it a man capable of going anywhere at anytime no longer afraid of your limits but eager to push your capabilities.

True dat. The stoics visualized failure before stepping up to important tasks. This wasn't to psyche themselves out. This was to detach from the outcome so that they could focus on the present. Its like bargaining with your boss for a raise---you need to be ready to not get the raise if you wanna keep your job---you also need to know when its time to walk---and you need to make the guy see your logic.

I'm being glib, sorry if that wasn't clear. Read the introduction to her book if you want to know. It is the Nietzschean revolution against master-slave moralities. The "fountainhead" of the revolution was the "ubermensch" which Rand spent a good 30 years depicting in literature. Some of her sex life is public record. She was hypergamous. Her female characters also reflected that. Course she might have been a fucking prude inside of that but IDK man. Plenty of Jews with babies running around my town.

The ability to be cruel and not use cruelty or to use cruelty selectively is better than being someone incapable of cruelty, that will just make you a victim to those who are cruel. This is how the world works, I'm just putting it into blunt terms.
You think your plate, boss, or the world at large gives a flying fuck about your feelings or wants beyond how it serves their own selfish interests? If you don't take what you want in life as a man you don't deserve them. Reality DEMANDS that you be selfish to get what you want and need.

I have to agree with an above comment, you’re coming off borderline psychopathic. It’s a weird simplistic proto-emotion/behaviour you’re advocating here. There’s nothing wrong with being kind to others. Go spend some time in a hospital and watch the brilliant and kind people there that are helping and saving lives. You might rely on their kindness one day when you have a heart attack or get cancer.
[–]GenieGenius[S] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I totally agree, but even those people are helping others because they get a selfish kick from it, some feel good emotional high or validation or retribution for emotional and mental scars in their past. Doctors save lives because it makes them feel powerful, respected, and validated, the fact that it helps people be healthy is a nice bonus and what many of them focus on, but let's not pretend like people aren't motivated to do kind things for others mostly because it makes them feel good about themselves.
For instance, I have a dog that I take care of and love. But I'm mostly caring and loving him because seeing him happy makes ME happy, deep down my desires are pretty psychopathic and selfish but they're painted with this pretty little brush of "being kind" or "being selfless". There's nothing wrong with being selfish, it can be VERY useful and is really the only way being selfless matters, if you have enough stuff that you've earned/taken for yourself that you can then share with others. When you realize that and appreciate that it loses all of its negative meaning and allows you to observe and interact with reality more logically and objectively.
I'd argue that if you think being selfish is psychopathic then every living animal that puts its survival over that of its prey must be a psychopath, and obviously that isn't even remotely true.

Holy crap... if this doesn't read like a cheesy super-villain monologue.
There is some truth to this, you need to be brave and fight for what you believe in.
Thing is, some people get selfish pleasure and fulfillment from being kind and loving, they are not mutually exclusive as OP seem to think.
kindness and love and Santa and the Easter Bunny are NOT REAL.
This is a hurt child speaking, not that there's any shame in that, but it's important to recognize it.
you need to be Confrontative, Arrogant, Selfish, and In Shape.
Almost true.
Yes, you need to be able to confront your problems and take on what you believe is harmful, but to be confrontative for the sake of being confrontative is asinine. Its exhausting and drains your time and energy, you make enemies you didn't need to make, and thing is, there are people out there much stronger and smarter than you are, its a fact of life, and you need to accept that. You repel healthy friends and relationships, it's just generally harmful to all parties and is objectively a stupid thing to do.
Arrogant? Hell no, the very definition is being a dumbass
"exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities."
This separates you from reality, you start living in your own imaginary world were you're the big shot. Thing is, I've seen many people who think this way and are total losers. Pride comes before the fall, so imagine what it does to you before you even take off?
And again, there are people out there stronger and smarter than you, if you start acting like a threat to them, you're making enemies and obstacles and placing them right in your path.
Selfish. Again, this is different for everyone. For some one capable of empathy and compassion, it is selfish of them to try and stop the suffering of others in order for themselves to feel good.
Everyone, by that definition, acts selfish, if you decided to do it/not do it, it was a selfish decision, and ultimately indicates nothing.
In Shape. No argument there.
To address some of your language.
I buried my dick balls deep in some bar sluts throat Want to fuck that thot? Treat women like whores and they act like whores. treat men like you're their God and they'll act like you are.
I buried my dick balls deep in some bar sluts throat
Want to fuck that thot?
Treat women like whores and they act like whores.
treat men like you're their God and they'll act like you are.
This is borderline sociopathy if not full blown.
I mean, that doesn't even sound pleasurable, it sounds like you're getting off on violence and hurting these women.
And what kind of sane person acts like another man's god??
This is so many complexes rolled into one, and op needs some serious help, I'm not joking. Again, there's no shame in it, and I would encourage it, but it needs to be recognized.
Civilization is designed to slowly and methodically extract your masculine energy and labor to serve those who pull the strings at the top
No, we need civilization so we can live and work together to achieve the greatest things humanity has ever achieved, if even one acted like op says, things around you you take for granted will start to fall apart. There's a bigger picture op either fails to see, choses not to see, or knows but is still pushing his narative.
Think about it, if op really believes that there is no kindness, love, and there is only selfish pleasure at the cost of others, why is he sharing this? Why wouldn't he keep this to himself so he can get all the bitches?
TL;DR You can be red pill, be kind and loving, fight for others, and not be a fucking psycho
[–]GenieGenius[S] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
If being kind to others gives you your dopamine and Oxytocin spike then by all means do so, but just remember that it is for a selfish reason. People use kindness as currency to grease the wheels of social interaction to hopefully decrease the likelihood of threats and obstacles, but it's all an illusion. Most weak men and women are predators who use pity to draw in their prey and should be regarded as such. It's not like we're all volunteering at soup kitchens and building homes for the homeless, very very few people do because it would interfere with their self-interests. Our kindness and selflessness is always conditional and limited.
I wouldn't argue that you should fake these qualities (Arrogance, Confrontativeness, Musculature, etc.) because they come about naturally when you live and invest in your life for yourself above all others.
These are sluts we're talking about, particularly women who are prone to and receptive to short term sexual relationships, they NEED to be adulterated and defiled in order to feel sexual attraction. You'd be surprised how many rich and affluent men are convinced that they're gods and people will treat them like one. Obviously you need the frame and status to back it up, but we can't just pretend like this shit isn't true just because it helps us sleep a little better at night to think that being a good boy means people and society will be good to you in turn.
Society is the enemy of man. It will always use him and his labor to enforce its laws, earn its money, and fight its wars. If you aren't the one pulling the strings in terms of being the master of your own life then someone else is pulling your strings for you. Obviously if everyone knew and internalized this men would stop investing into the Blue Pill wet dream of working a 9-5 job every weekday for a house, wife and children. We here at TRP obviously know that this is just a dream and women will happily branch swing and/or divorce rape you when your use to her dries up, the same way we as a society shrug our shoulders and give up on the homeless and mentally ill men.
I'm sharing this because selfishness isn't the evil, terrible thing you've been programmed to believe it is, it is CENTRAL all of our choices and decisions. Kindness and love are great but I think it's important we don't fool ourselves into believing it's a selfless thing that both parties unconditionally commit to, there are conditions and criteria for both and the moment those are compromised for one party they will degrade and eventually completely fade away. It's why so many dopey hapless guys give their ALL to a chick and then wonder why she still cheats and leaves him for a guy willing to keep her at arms length and use her for his own selfish desires, there was a condition to that relationship of NEVER compromising your frame to comfort her without compromising her awe, attraction, and respect for you.
Being selfish means doing what you like to do, for me that includes educating men so they don't give up their most important resource, their willpower, to benefit other people who use them to their own selfish gains. Everyone is ALREADY selfish at their core, it's not something we should run away from, instead we need to embrace it and use our agency to live the life we want instead of the life others want for us, largely to their own benefit.
Have you ever wondered why it's totally fine for a woman to expect to be selfish in a relationship (Be picked up and driven, taken on dates she doesn't have to pay for, have drinks bought for her, stay at her boyfriends place practically rent free, etc.) but the moment a man wants something for himself in response (Sex or a relationship or whatever) he's immediately shamed and told to not be a selfish asshole? You're all being programmed to believe that, as men, you're supposed to be a selfless doormat for everyone to walk on when in fact, your will and ability to mold your life into the exact kind of life you want to live for your own benefit/happiness, is the most attractive and confidence building thing you can do as a male.
I don't think being a selfish person makes you a psycho, it makes you a reasonable and straightforward man with a clear and powerful frame. I'm not at all saying that you can't ever be kind or loving, I'm just saying to not be fooled into the illusion of thinking you're doing those things completely selflessly with no personal benefit and that they also don't at all imply others will be kind or loving to you unconditionally in return.

Every situation in life should be met with - 'what is this doing for me?' Do not do anything for anyone for the sake of being moral, a good man, or a PC conformist. These are all terrible forms of building narcisstic supply, as it relies on the validation and appreciation of others.
Once you realize this cultural narrative, you should only associate yourself with people who are dumb enough to invest in you unconditionally and then you can manipulate them and take them to the cleaners.
Fuck society's values. It just wants your money.
Fuck women (That's what they are there for).

Don't know why you're getting downvotes. You're exactly correct even if you're being blunt. Modern comforts have made us forget how zero-sum, brutal, and harsh reality and Mother Nature really are. People think being a good little worker drone somehow guarantees them respect or freedom and it's the opposite.
[–]2Dmva1007 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because too many men in this sub have been cucked by feminism and are now emotive and sensitive bitches because their teachers and single mommies said it's ok.

Most important lesson for me and it works.
I went from being a doormat to asking people for things in return for favours and refusing to do them. It draws people to you, because you have a level of self-respect you don't sacrifice for nobody.
[–]DreamGrl83 points4 points5 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I think it is incredibly important to be self-sufficient and generally act in your best interest.
I just want to note that a big part of human evolution and progress is cooperation (especially at the familial and tribal levels). It is important to work together and even help each other. This is based on my interpretation of the "Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins.
You should always have your best interests in mind to maximize success - but in the big picture. Sometimes it is beneficial to help and sacrifice for others so that you may reap similar benefits in the future.
Although, I will say, in today's society, it appears as though the backstabbers, narcissistic, and sociopathic, seem to reap all the benefits that the philanthropic do, and get to rise to higher levels in corporations and society due to their selfish acts that often harm others.
I agree, but cooperation only happens and works when those in the co-op derive some personal/selfish benefit.

Maybe not for you because you're too soft, and that's fine, but we need to embrace that we are all selfish. Once you realize that people will always take the most risk-averse and self-gratifying choice when presented with one, the fucked up state of reality begins to make perfect sense.

I understand reality very well, enough to know that acting "alpha" isn't some miracle cure to all of life's problems like this sub makes it out to be
[–]GenieGenius[S] 17 points18 points19 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
It is though. I think you mean acting "macho", and I would agree with you on that, but unless you take what you want no one will give it to you. Maybe they do when you're a child or a woman but as a man you are only worth what you take for yourself. People will bitch, moan, and hate on you for doing what they didn't have the guts or capability to do but otherwise they'd pity you for NOT doing what you want to do. It's a lose-lose strategy whether you're selfish OR selfless and so you shouldn't bother considering anyone else's opinion of yourself but your own anyway, which is selfish, and, when your opinion of yourself is a mirror of who you actually are and you're happy with that, is alpha.

ok, I want to play in the NFL but I'm 5'4 and suck at football. How do I take what I want then?
[–]GenieGenius[S] 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link
You have to be honest with yourself that it's not gonna happen and find somewhere else you can excel. There are still hard limits to reality, I'm not saying you can literally do anything you want, I'm simply saying that if you aren't motivated by selfish interests you'll just be a pawn for someone else who is, which is what an overwhelming majority of men are programmed by their single mothers and schools and society in general to do.
Most importantly, you need to realize we ALREADY live in a world fueled by competing selfish interests at all levels of society. Minimum wage is unlivable because companies don't give a damn if you're happy with your starvation wage job because you're easily replaceable and have few alternatives. The women you chat up at the store, gym, bar, school, work, etc. don't give a damn if you're a nice person, they want you to selfishly neg them, give them tingles, and degrade them. The other football team won't take it easy on you if you're 5'4, they'll admonish, berate, and target you during the game so they can win easier. The bank couldn't care less that you volunteer in a soup kitchen and lead the local bible study group unless you have the money to make good on the loan they gave you. If your car breaks down while you're driving there's a very low likelihood someone will stop and help you out because they're focused on their own destination and journey. The idea that anybody gives a damn about you beyond family, and even then it's probably just your mom, is something boys are programmed to believe in so they'll offer up their time, labor, and energy to the benefit of a society that doesn't give a shit about them. It's time to wake up.
[–]jamesbwbevis0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I agree with that basic idea, but you make it sound like some super solution where you get everything you want. Glad you aren't actually as delusional as it seemed at first.
In my life, "hard limits to reality " don't care about what i want
[–]GenieGenius[S] 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I can see how you might assume that, but you definitely still have to put the work in and accept that even then there will be hard limits you'll have to encounter.
As much as I'd love to be a billionaire, it's very unlikely even with an INSANE work ethic unless I'm willing to be selfish enough to bend people to my will and obliterate my competition by any means necessary. I.e. Literally every billionaire on Earth.
As a 5'4 guy you could become part of the NFL if you're willing to put in an INSANE amount of work to be THE BEST at a certain position where your height is an advantage but even then you could have similar or greater success doing a sport like track, rugby, or soccer where you'd have a better comparative advantage. However, IT IS POSSIBLE AND HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trindon_Holliday.
It's all about finding what you want, being honest with yourself that you want it, and then pursuing it relentlessly irregardless of people's opinions until you get it or get something else that's just as, if not more, enjoyable. Almost nothing is impossible if you're willing to hunt it down at any cost.

Your concept of getting whatever you want whenever you want by working for it is right and i second that. But also i think you need to assess your strengths and weaknesses and assess the situation ans a whole before putting work on something: work means time and time is a limited resource.
I mean: if you want to become billionaire and you put work in that, since opportunities are everywhere you could become millionaire or having 6 figures bank account, not bad anyway.
The same couldn't be for the example of the NFL, yes you might get good athletically by training meanly, but being 5'4" closes a lot of doors and at most you could end up playing in some minor semipro league.
Something always comes up from hard work but assessing the return on investment is a golden rule.
I agree, but there are very very few things you cannot do if you don't put your absolute all into achieving them, day and night, without becoming discouraged. With advanced technology and medicine, those seemingly impossible things are slowly being turned into a shorter and shorter list.
NEVER underestimate your power to bend reality to your will, if you pursue it relentlessly you will almost always find a way, and hey, if you don't make it, you'll still have become so good at focusing your testosterone and masculine energy into a laser beam so powerful you'll still be able to accomplish almost anything else.

Agreed, but the actions will always give it away unless you can provide a convincing feel good emotional narrative for yourself and others. Once you see through the mirage of emotions it becomes plain that everyone is selfish and simply cultivating their image to appear less selfish than they actually are at their core.

I really like how you keep referring to your reality. I've found myself actually doing the same when describing how shit is.
Pay attention to actions not words. It's very easy to lie with words. Not so easy with actions, but still possible. Like to appear less selfish one could always make small selfless acts which aren't really selfless but appear so.

Learn to say, "no." Start small if you are just beginning to understand you've been allowing yourself to be taken advantage of. Say no to small things and then realize you can say no to anything.
[–]GenieGenius[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly. Don't like your fat? Say No to high fat and cholesterol and work out. Don't like your job? Say No to interviewing for anything less than your goals and groom your resume to get a new one. Don't like being single? Say No to your habits and attitudes that keep you single and put yourself out there and learn game.
You don't have to accept the way the world treats you or expects you to act, you are the master of yourself and therefore your destiny. We as men don't get the luxury of going with the flow, we are the pillars of civilization and we need to stand up for ourselves and say No to what we don't like about our lives so we can become closer to our ideal. The most powerful thing a man has is his ability to say No and put in the work to always be able to walk away from anything that doesn't elevate him.
When groups of men get together and say "No" things come to a screeching halt, look at every single war and revolution in history. Your Frame, the rules by which you conduct yourself and expect others to conduct themselves, is the window through which the world around you enters and it is only as strong as your willingness to be able to put in the work and walk away from anyone and anything that doesn't fit the picture you want for your own life.

It's The Real. Try being selfish (do things that please you, possibly at her expense: neg, tease, take her by the hand and lead her) with women and try being selfless (do things that please her, possibly at your expense: compliment, share your resources, let her lead the interaction) with women, you'll be amazed at the night-and-day difference in their level of sexual attraction to you. This shouldn't be hard stuff to understand on TRP.

I'm not saying you should be a sociopathic serial rapist or murderer. I'm just pointing out that everyone is motivated at their core by selfish behavior and that you should embrace this innate selfishness so you can be honest with yourself about what you want out of life and out of yourself.
[–]rooster-one40 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I didn't take that you were saying that. For me, I'm pretty new to the MRA/MGTOW stuff, though so much of it has been on my mind for over 15 years, all these same realizations.
After my divorce from a cluster B and narcissist, I just wanted to be left alone. I traveled again like I used to, was all over europe. It was there that I learned that traveling wasn't really great unless there was someone to share it with. I tried talking buddies into going with me.
I also learned the importance of family and friends again. I never abandoned them like I was supposed to, and thankfully they never abandoned me like they were supposed to. I learned the real satisfaction was in helping them and just visiting them.
Being selfish and only doing what I wanted whenever I wanted...I think I would have turned into her, and hell, I enjoy seeing where it's gotten her. I have the kids, I get to enjoy being there, and well, she gets to have her 4 week boyfriends and enjoying the life of poverty that she desperately wanted...
One thing I don't agree with is doing the same things that brought us to the decisions that lead us to places like this site. If anything, we should enjoy we lived through whatever it was we went through and give more, not withhold it because now we want our revenge on the world.
I understand, a lot of people have been taking the idea of selfishness to an evil extreme because they've been taught to be selfless and uncontroversial at all costs their entire lives, but that isn't my intention. My main point is simply that selfishness is unavoidable and the inability to be selfish and draw the line on what you'll agree to is like a small Death that will force women and society to disrespect and walk all over you, not to mention it will rob you of your respect for yourself because you have little to no agency or control over your life. Not only that, but being selfish is incredibly attractive to women and necessary to move up in the business world, in politics/social hierarchies, and to meet your own goals for yourself. The message is pretty coarse and rough but I wanted it to be that way to help shake young men and wake them up into realizing that being a good boy who does everything they're told is a losing strategy and simply makes you a pawn for those who are willing to use your selflessness to their personal advantage. I'm hoping that some men here will read this and realize that they've been doormats all their lives and that they NEED to be more selfish, especially self-motivating and self-confident, in order to fully realize themselves and be respected as Men.
Nothing is more unattractive to a woman or employees than a selfless man without any firm and consistent principles or expectations of himself and others. If nothing else, selfishness needs to be regarded as a tool and understood as being central to almost every decision we make.
[–]rooster-one40 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The original message was deleted, but I think I got the jist of it.
I don't like to think of things as in terms of being selfish. 24 years of the army has taught me tough lessons about just having more zen in life. That being said, I also believe in having a clearly defined boundary, marking that boundary, and bopping folks on the head when that boundary has been crossed. I've been told many times that because I have boundaries and will not tolerate incursions is being selfish...and I don't see it as such. I see it as defending me, the only real thing I have. I'm not a 20 yr old kid with boundaries made of jello any longer.
Your last part I think should have been what was lead with, "hoping that some men here will read this and realize that they've been doormats all their lives and that they NEED to be more selfish, especially self-motivating and self-confident, in order to fully realize themselves and be respected as Men." Yep. Succinct and stating that it's ok to be ok with who we are.

It's because people HATE to hear anything that doesn't benefit them even though it's obvious that almost everything we do in society is meant to benefit someone else's selfish desires and interests. They've been led to believe our starving, dying, corrupt society is just a fluke or divine intervention because it's easier to swallow than realizing that things are that way mostly because they benefit someone in power and advance their personal agenda.

I am 15 years old and I and I love bending people to my will, in elementary I was bullied because I wasn't assertive enough, had high grades as well as MM (muscle disease in the mitochondria). Now I am in highschool, I started working out, reading about stoicism and macchiavellism and I am not the tallest, oldest guy in class but everyone treats me like a god because I use this kind of thinking and put it into practise (however, I have my bros back, no selfishness there). I love reading these kinds of TRP posts!
[–]GenieGenius[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That's great you found TRP so young. As you get older you'll realize that the bullies grow up to be the guys in charge of the rest of the company and used the social skills for manipulation they learned from punching down on people often help them to become very successful in business and relationships. Being selfish is NECESSARY in order for you to be respected and vetted as a man, you become a leader then simply by viewing your peers as an extension of your self and protecting and punishing them the same way you do to yourself in order to meet goals.
[–]Nofap_Dutch0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The woman thing is the least of it. In fact job hunting and bitch hunting are so much alike I'll use that as an example.
Had a oneitus with this hookah lounge whom would always choose some slutty dumb girl who didn't know what she was doing over me. So not only does that insult my integrity, but it really upsets me that something I really enjoy I cannt work around to make my life better. I have a job. In fact my current job leaves me alone. But hookah is one of the few things I like. Not tolerate...like.
And whoever is running this lounge is obviously and thirsty beta who doesn't appreciate skill or passion just thinks sex sells. It doesn't. Not for long...because your little playboy bunnies are retards and stealing.
Anyway they were looking for people AGAIN this time a video of yourself instead of one on one interview so I did that. I get an automated response back to show up on Thursday for a second interview and I stopped reading right there and sent them back nigger you know I work Thursdays. I am NOT losing sleep or risking being late at my current job just to play games with you. I know you know I work Thursdays as this is like the third time we've done this dance. You are just as worthless as the thots you hire.
I don't care if that burns bridges. I'm so disgusted at this point with everything. Part of the problem is it's a white hookah lounge. Arabs know their shit. Not dumbass hipsters. Just do to them what I do to my exes. You're dead to me. I don't want your pussy, or your money, or your apology, I want you to die and feel miserable for the rest of your fucking life because you are INCAPABLE of being a human being.
Red and Black pill is the opposite of tidepods meme as when you eat it you live.
You're too invested in other people. Focus on yourself and go somewhere else if you're not into the company at the lounge. The moment someone can make you feel emotional about something they've said or done, you've lost. Carry yourself like a king and people will treat you like one. Constantly push your limits and don't settle for anything less than you think you deserve.

Ironically you're talking like a woman right now with contradictory statements. "Don't show emotion but expect better" YAH I DO EXPECT BETTER hence emotional. I'm gonna get it too or turn serial killer. Also emotional.
But what you really meant is PRETEND to be confident to impress cucks, bastards, anf sluts. Just confident enough to wotk at Amazon unintended but not so confident as to come to work one day or home to a cheating bitch and blow their brains out. That's not red pill. That's just blue pill but with weight lifting or something gay
