I've suffered from depression and just plain ole bitchitis as you are suffering from now. You have to stop being a little Winey bitch. You have to exercise, eat right, and find fun stuff to do. It's depressing when you don't experience abundance, and even more so when the people around you do. You're only 21. I didn't really hit my stride until about 23. Not giving a fuck whether I had it was the key. When my sole purpose was my own fun and enjoyment, and not the enjoyment of others, it naturally filled in. Don't overestimate the importance of having a girl you can hold. It's nice, but when you place it on a pedestal, it creates a worse situation than your depression.

The moments of fleeting love you experienced were just puberty hormones. Now, that doesn't mean you can't experience happiness, but you have to understand that happiness is simply hormonal secretion that "feels good" in the brain but doesn't exist outside of that. Think about it this way: people get married and have kids based on these transient emotions, but you avoided that situation. Consider yourself lucky.

I kind of get what you mean to a certain extent. I'm 25 and while I have a couple somewhere in the low double digits and had some fuck buddies, I've never been in a committed relationship. while I never want to get married, it is a bit hard seeing your friends in relationships. You kind of feel left out in a sense.

The thing though is that you just have to focus on the great things about being single. Being able to do whatever you want and not answering to anybody. I also cringe when I see some of my friends act like freaking puppies around their girlfriend.
