Body language in both males and females is something that I know for a fact, many of you have an expressed interest in.
If you aren't sure where to start, there is a very simple idea to take into account that will hold more weight than any "angle of ____" kind of knowledge will.
Momentary Body Language isn't straightforward, responses are
What does this mean exactly? It means to not focus on eye-raping your target trying to psycho-analyze the different postures and angles of limbs and such. If you don't have a comprehensive knowledge on visual cues, you can still use body language to effectively read others. When a situation develops, or a stimulus/phrase is processed by a person's brain, it will usually respond.
This response, is ALWAYS a motion. Speaking is a motion, running is a motion, slightly adjusting posture, is a motion. There will almost always be a physical response, but our conscious minds only really evaluate the vocal response of people we are in vicinity of. This doesn't mean you don't see subcommunication, it just is processed subconsciously (you don't 'think' about it).

"Yeah, people move all the time. How is this supposed to tell me anything?"
Because people don't move signifigantly all the time.
If you are talking to someone, take note of how they are presently holding themselves. Throughout the conversation, as you say things or as ideas come up, watch them closely (but not creepily).
For example.
If they are relaxed in a chair, but lean forward slghtly at the mention of Ice Cream, you can reasonably infer that they had a signifigant emotional response to the mention of Ice cream, enough so that their limbic system made them move slightly.
If you approach a girl at a bar, and she verbally acknowledges you saying something to her but does not really change her posture or position, you can reasonably infer that your introduction into her mental space was not significant, and it would be worth your time to just move on.
What if that guy REALLLLY wanted ice cream, and left to "run errands" shortly after if you didn't notice that and suggest ice cream.
(That's not a very logical example, but it is straight-forwards)
What if you had kept trying to game this girl that had no interest in you, and you ended up wasting your time on a girl with a boyfriend or on her period?
The benefits may not be obvious, but look for them enough, and it might just sway things in your favor one day, even without knowing the EXACT meaning of the physical cues.
