Summary: A brief analysis of the true end goal women have in mind when they explain the kind of guy they want - and guess what, it doesn't include you playing WoW all night in the basement in your XXXXL Dragonforce T-shirt.
Body
A previous poster, whos name I regrettably can't remember, submitted an excellent article about how men AND women have a baseline minimal physical standard for attraction - and when we talk about specific preferences and flavours we're interested in, we are only discussing those people who fit the flavour AND are above the minimum standard. The flavour doesn't override the minimum standard. We men have this - if you say you like gamer girls, you're picturing a pretty, slim chick, maybe she's a pale redhead, maybe she's sitting cross legged on her bed in panties and a Halo t-shirt - and who also happens to be holding an Xbox controller. You didn't just mean literally ANY girl who plays video games. Girls are the same way about guys, but due to the feminist and chronically over-mothering society we live in, in our blue-pill past we were systematically told to just be yourself, and the right girl will come along and love you for who you are - all 400lbs of you.
Side-note: there's an interesting theory (again by an author I can't remember) that this advice works perfectly well if you're already in the top 10% of men - and its repeated so much by mothers to their sons because their hormones have blinded them with love for her son to the extent that she ardently and honestly believed he IS top 10% physically, regardless of the reality of the situation.
I imagine we've almost all been there, talking to a girl you've probably been orbiting for months, while she laments about how she wishes she could just meet a "nice guy like you", a nice guy who's intelligent and loving and maybe open to a family in the future - all the while you're sitting there just waiting for her to "notice" you. Well, she didn't mean YOU. You were fat and a hopeless beta. She meant this guy.

I happened upon a girl's profile on Facebook (in the "other people you might know" section. I have no idea who they are) and decided to look in more detail. Her photo piqued my interest mainly because of the unorthodox look of her guy and I felt compelled to do some snooping.
Now of course this is a "professional" photo shoot and not a casual iPhone snap, but having spent 5 minutes creeping through the other photos on the profile, the dress style of both of them here (as well as the fawning affection expressed toward the guy) is pretty congruent with more natural settings.
I'm going to dig into the guy's look here. Some people might feel this guy has a bit of a hipster look, but you can't deny he's going for a nerdy guy/nice guy style overall. Crucially, though: he's muscular. His shape is filled out in a thoroughly masculine way. He's got traps for days. However, he doesn't look over-the-top bodybuilder-esque. He looks strong but not obsessive. Of course, we know he wasn't born with this, he built it; he has to work to maintain it, and likely does actually have to be technically "obsessive" over it in terms of workouts and nutrition etc in order to keep it. It doesn't happen by itself. It's likely that she doesn't fully appreciate the effort involved in that, but she sure as hell appreciates the results.
Digging through more photos, almost every one with both of them in together has her basically making googly eyes up at him. They have a kid or two together and he looks to be a happy, involved father with the kid. Of course, we must bear in mind this is viewed through the self-selecting lens of a public social media account, but even so - I'm sure this chick feels like she has won the game, big time, and locked down her perfect man.
This guy can still fuck up. If his Game'n'Frame isn't tight, or gradually slips over the next few years as he grows comfortable, even he can probably look forward to a divorce before he's 45. Even if he managed to keep the physique in trim, if he's a supplicating beta in his behaviour she'll still grow to be eventually disgusted by him. She won't even know why. She might hate herself for it, because on paper, he's perfect. Her girlfriends will be telling her so. But the "spark" can die, and if neither of them consciously know what the spark actually was in the first place, it'll be just another failed marriage and broken Western family.
But the Red Pill knows what's up. It's all just biology. You can't argue with it, and most of society isn't even consciously aware of it. So learn the mechanics, learn what's happening behind the curtain, and take control - or eventually drown like everyone else.
Lessons learned
Minimum standards of attractiveness apply for EVERYONE. Any preferences or flavours mentioned are to be layered on TOP of the standards, not in replacement of them. Work on your physical self until you meet the standard - then keep on working, to drive your desirability into the stratosphere.
Adopt and embrace your flavour, your "own brand of alpha", because once your physical SMV is high you'll be attractive to the average girl anyway - and total catnip to the girl who craves your flavour. In all likelihood, you'll probably even convert some who didn't know they liked it.
Physical SMV is your foot in the door, but your Game is still where you need to live if you're doing anything beyond ONS. Play Billy-beta long enough, and she'll still end up finding you repulsive, on a primal level that even she doesn't understand.
