Great post. The application of commodity fetishism really brought me back to my BP'd sociology undergrad days (though thankfully I majored in politics).

This is closely related to the concept of Kayfabe.

What's interesting about your posts for me is that I get the sense that you are very well adept at understanding how the ego based society works, but I'm still not sure wether you yourself have an ego based mindset, or if you have actually escaped it and still pose as if you were still under it. (For reasons unknown to me... perhaps financial, who knows.)

I'd say for example that it is conveniant to go against apple when most factories are in china anyway. I'll also say that complaining after universities that put you in debt is an excuse to have failed it or not even tried.

The RP has a serious over commodity fetish in regards to becoming a chad that they forget the application of actually putting in the work. They instead live through the notable sphere members knowledge without going through the trial and error process.

I’m not blaming those prominent members as they are actually providing content to discuss, the issue is with knowledge attained from trial and error is given freely without the burden of error.

This is terrible. I understand that this guy is trying to be over the top for the purpose of post-ironic satire, but it doesn't work at all. To do a good job of being over the top, you need more than just a script that you can't live up, which is all he has. You need something like a dozen bimbos in the ad, or an unrealistically Rich Piana esque body, something.

There needs to be a theatrical element that takes effort to go over the top in a way that mocks itself, while still inspiring emotions of fantasy and jealousy that a non-satirical version would have. This is how over the top satire works and if you can't pull it off, then move to a kind of comedy that's more accessible. It sucks that not all comedy is available to everyone, but that's life.

In this ad, we're left without any of the imagery or emotions that themselves become satirical and inspire a sort of laugh through the self mockery of "Lol, it's funny that this crazy picture is what people fantasize about." It supposed to be a kind of goofy twist on "Be careful what you wish for" that doesn't lose sight of "But I still want it."

This ad doesn't make me careful what I wish for and it doesn't make me laugh at the absurdity of common male fantasies. The only thing there is to it is "Ha, can you believe he said something that he so obviously isn't living up to? It's okay though, because it's satire." Not really redpill style humor. Much more Stewie Griffin tier, but with an extra kind of pathetic wanting.

What is the actionable information takeaway here?
How do we reconcile this with default support for right wing beliefs, parties, and candidates that unstintingly push laissez-faire capitalism and consumerism to the primary benefit of a small fraction of the population?

If you get a response like “go read this book”, it’s because you’ve demonstrated a serious deficit of the requisite knowledge to understand the answer to the questions you’re asking, so a more elaborate response would be useless. The prior answers sounded like a foreign language to you.

Can you teach calculus to a child that barely knows how to read? You have to teach them what numbers are first, and then how to manipulate them with basic arithmetic, and then some algebra and precalculus. Can you condense a textbook into a post it notes worth of information to avoid studying? Can a semester be covered in a single lecture?

Why waste a whole semester studying that shit if that’s all it took to develop?
