I'm not entirely sure why I'm writing this post. Back in 2013, I committed myself to living by the code of TRP and for 3 years I did great by it. However, over the past 7 months or so, everything changed for me for the worse because I let myself slip up. I started seeing this girl and I ended up with a serious case of oneitis. I let her tell me that I "needed to open up more", needed to make her feel more comfortable before she would be willing to take things further with me, needed to do this or that, etc. etc. I stopped seeing other women, got rid of all my plates, threw everything I had into this situation with this one girl. She has a lot of mental and emotional baggage so I think I allowed myself to justify her demanding that I open up more/put myself out there because I though "well, it's totally understandable that she would be scared/hesitant given her past and current issues, so I should do this for her." I totally forgot everything I'd learned/knew from TRP over the past 3 years. After we broke things off at the end of last week, I feel used and manipulated and ashamed of myself for having fallen this far...I let her completely control the entire situation and she gave me nothing in return for everything I gave her and put into us. It's crazy how if you slip up and don't remember TRP, women can make you feel like utter shit no matter what you have going for you (I'm in my late 20's, financially successful, own an apartment in Manhattan, in great shape, work for a top financial company, etc....I don't say this to brag, but just to say that I had a lot going for me that had helped me be really confident in myself and no matter what if you let your guard down a woman can and will try to destroy that, it's like they can just sense that you're confident in who you are and don't need them and they can't stand it). Now I'm the idiot who let myself get oneitis and needs to climb out of the same hole I told myself years ago I would never fall back into.

I guess I'm just writing this as a reminder to never let your guard down and think "oh well I'll make an exception for this girl because I think this one is different" because they're not. None of them are. They're just minor variations on the same line of code. Never let a woman tell you that you need to open up/put yourself in a vulnerable position before she gives you anything from her end. Don't make my mistake. Don't get complacent. Always remember the laws of TRP.
