The people they're after aren't the rapists. That's a mere 6% of men, give or take, and that may be a generously high statistic, especially in most educated/wealthy areas where families pay five digits a year for someone to be, like a college.

They're after all men.

It doesn't matter who gets raped or who doesn't. It doesn't matter who's actually a rapist.

All men are potential rapists, therefore, all men need to regulate their behavior to avoid alarming or offending any woman anywhere.

If you can't be bothered to do this, then you're a rape supporter, shitlord.

I would actually applaud feminists' stance on being anti rape if they actually did something positive to help reduce rape, rather than call something rape and stamp it out.

I don't see feminists lobbying officials to cut down rape culture in prisons, I don't see feminists volunteering at womens' refuges or exposing atrocities in the third world - at least without using it as a weapon for general universal man-hating!

If feminists actually battled some of these issues and maybe even attempted to battle corporate strategies of arbitrarily favoring women in employment rather than on merit, maybe they would avoid such monikers like "Feminazi" or "Nutter!"

As it stands, the fact that they're attempting to bleach society by instilling the idea that the second a man looks at a woman it's a rape is just completely perverse!

Anecdote: I was listening to the radio today. It was about feminism and how men are afraid to step in these days. There have been a few times in life I've stepped into a situation where I could see a woman in trouble. Some rather blase, some a little more serious.

For example, a few weeks ago, I was at a party. Towards the end, there was this one girl was entirely worse for wear with the drink. She fell on me and nearly passed out. I said to her, "Maybe you should call it a night, eh?" I passed her onto two guys she was talking to earlier. In doing so, I even pulled one aside and said, "If you're putting her in the room, make sure you come back to the party asap! Make sure people see you here, just in case!". They immediately understood and took the advice. The fact is, I was scared to take her to her room by myself! What if she cried rape or other inappropriateness and I have no way to evidence that I was nowhere near her? I passed on the task! And I would do so again! If the two guys weren't around, frankly, I'd have sat her on the sofa and walked!

I know that's terrible and entirely un-chivalrous, but this is what feminism has done!

People get raped and it's a problem. Why does she have to use fancy words and make unsubstantiated claims to write about the topic? Anything can be framed as an epidemic if you want, but then it loses all relativity when it's applied with indignation to something that happens maybe a couple times a year at a school with thousands of people.

So doesn't this prove that universities shouldn't be responsible for this and it should be left to law enforcement?

Here's a comment I left on another sub just the other day:

I still don't understand why this is a matter for the universities to deal with. Obviously, it is a campus and they have responsibilities to protect students, but it still produces a conflict of interest when dealing with any violation of the law.

Plagiarism and cheating are two things that come to mind that a university is directly responsible for dealing with and punishing. Violence, rape, and other crime should always fall on law enforcement with help/assistance from the university. If a student is convicted, then he should go before the school disciplinary board and have judgement rendered against him. Schools have too much to cover up and protect to have any students best interests in mind.

College students are adults that make adult decisions. If universities really wanted to cut down rape they would step up enforcement of dry campus policies or making their campuses dry. However, this pushes parties with alcohol (and lets face it, alcohol is the driving force behind most of these cases) off campus and away from the university's jurisdiction making law enforcement responsible.

These crimes aren't happening in the classroom where people are learning and actually using the university for it's intended purpose, they're happening at alcohol fueled parties that have nothing to do with a university's utility.

Four drastic steps to stop or decrease assault cases:

Eliminate on campus housing

Eliminate the "Greek" culture-no Frats or sororities

Ban alcohol on campus. If already banned, increase enforcement and punishments for having it.

Institute a campus wide curfew a la the 30's and 40's if campus housing exists.

These are hard suggestions to make because it's fun a hell going to a college party. However, how many people are in university that should actually be there? People that have more to lose, in terms of their goals in life, are less likely to commit crimes, much less violent ones. Standards have dropped over the years and the simple increase of people who just want to get away from their parents to party and make C's and D's in their major have increased along with sexual assaults.

So this entire report is based on the "fact" that exactly 1 in 5 women at any given university WILL be raped while they are there (based on a study of 2 schools). And any institutions that don't follow this trend must be lying.

They even go on to say this report (the entire foundation of their report) is inaccurate because of how they recorded the data (unwanted sexual contact /= rape).

This isn't feminism, this is someone that doesn't understand statistics.

Take for instance, they red flagged Temple U because they only reported 2 rapes, whereas University of PA must be fine because they reported 16.

A study went out that in Europe, the rates of rape was in Sweden, Finland and Norvegia Study is in french runes, sorry and the lowest or so were in Spain and Italy, which is totally bullshit since those 3 countries are the most feminist left winged muh progressism countries in Europe, whereas Spain and Italy are the most catholicist and traditionalist countries.

What she and the study used as example is wrong on, is that she is comparing the cases of DECLARED rapes in each campus, and everyone who isn't retarded know that basing yourself on what peoples tell you without concrete proof behind it is stupid. If there is a crazily high rate of rapes (52%, come on Finland are you even trying to hide your bullshit), then something is wrong with the laws around it, and it shows legal abuse of a system.
