The concepts of cognitive dissonance explains why many people don't understand TRP.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance

[–]Pwn4g3_P13 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Most people understand it. TRP can be easily summed up in a few simple paragraphs. The issue is a lot of the core points are jumped on by people who hate women for whatever reason, and use TRP as a soapbox.

'Any fool can despise what he can not get - Aesop'. Some TRP's apply this to women, rather than the culture that we are all raised in.

Fuck yo grapes!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It mostly comes down to "It feeeeeels manipulative and wrong because I don't do it. People should like me solely for being me because I'm special and different from all those other guys."

[–]chillmonkey88 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good point... I found that the seduction community is wrapped in the same string but people see you call a woman a plate and white knights and sjw's unite... missing the point of its reference to dating multiple women at the same time with out feeling shamed... I think more people are snowball mad at the jargon more than anything...

I mentioned to someone at the mall (multiple friend zone properties owned) one time about opening sets and they stopped, appalling saying from behind the Starbucks counter "those are people?!?! Not an object... you're like one of those mystery pick up guys aren't you? What's your alias?"... I just shook my head and opened and number closed in front of them...

Ok this illustrates red pill but what if the blue pill guy instead of protecting the rabbit actually punched the psychopath in the face. What would have been the outcome?

I believe that you can both be a good person and still be red pill. The women like dominant men but what would they choose between a guy fighting for good dominantly and a guy that is purely a jerk? I think the answer is obvious.

[–]dvrzero 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Wait so hunters are psychopath? I don't get it. The author is doing satire here. So why are you calling the hunter a psychopath?

I eagerly await the reply.

You know what Dark Triad is?

TRP Signal - to - Noise is become all static. Too many people who know nothing.

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points48 points 12 years ago (68 children) | Copy Link

why TRP is working

TRP is a new word for old behaviors. It's not "wow, TRP is working now," it's "wow I never saw it like this before".

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points28 points 12 years ago (64 children) | Copy Link

75% of TRP can be summarized as "the most attractive men are those who exhibit conventional attributes of male attractiveness." And yet, somehow, it was still a revelation for me.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points26 points 12 years ago (62 children) | Copy Link

Because our Western culture is highly feminized and geared towards making men betas or homosexuals. If our culture was about making men into men then we wouldn't need TRP.

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 28 points29 points30 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Because our Western culture is highly feminized and geared towards making men betas or homosexuals.

And ironically enough, conversely making women into men. We are living in bizarro world.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

You cannot have a strong class of independent warrior males if you're trying to topple a society. This is why "liberals", feminists, progressives, and other people who support the beta-male/everyone should be gay/women should be men paradigm hate the idea of sovereign gun owners who can defend themselves, because it's the foundation of being a free man who doesn't need consensus to operate, and all they can operate on is consensus.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

People who want a giant government that can tax all your earnings away (through income or other taxes), those who want unaudited foreign wars and unaudited domestic spending - cannot exist with a population of strong independent men beneath them. They need people who fear others on immutable characteristics like race and "gender" to think that the only people who can render society just is the government, and not the strengths/sensibilities of ordinary people.

I digress.

[–]2wiseclockcounter 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm sick of people wrapping up irrelevant shit with TRP theory. TRP has nothing to do with gun-ownership. If you want a debate on the cost/benefit of that issue, take it to /r/changemyview or something. Your quoting of "liberals" makes it pretty clear that you're conflating an extremely broad political standpoint with several other more socially-oriented movements. Yes, beta-males are brought about by certain aspects of some of them, but you're still required to draw a mental line between these issues and understand where one doesn't correlate to the others.

I can promise you there will be no army of gay people storming your mid-west house-fort where you'll have to spray them with bullets. Diversity of opinion belongs in TRP as much as in any forum, but be careful not to mix them where they have no business being mixed.

I don't know, this Goldman Sachs guide to being a man says you should...

That says to own a nice shotgun as one might enjoy a strong drink. And has nothing to do with the 'defending freedom from the gays' wet-dream you were getting at. Also, they should add "don't learn how to be a man from vapid click-bait on the internet".

can gay people not be alpha sovereign gun owners?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

If we're defining alpha to include sexual relations with women... then no. I'd want to know about this person's other traits.

But own guns all day if you are a human being, I just don't see any pro-gun messages from the same groups of people who want to redefine marriage and let kindergartners choose which bathroom to use based on how they're feeling that day.

Identity politics is about getting the state involved in identity, and I wish the state would care less as it should.

do you have negative feelings towards gay and transsexual people?

[–]Meglomaniac 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Actually I would say that society has slowly over time turned the majority of men into betas, and made it extremely difficult for alpha male traits to be passed down from father to son. In the past it was always the fathers son to raise the son to be a man, now its handled by female teachers and the mother while the man works.

Also, I would like to point out that almost exclusively these women are post wall, so they are teaching them what THEY believe to be the best course of action for these men. Nice, pandering men who provide for their women. It isnt out of hatred or misandry, its out of benevolent ignorance.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No they're teaching boys to sit down, shut up and listen to what women have to say.

Men (real men) know you can safely disregard about 95% of the crap that comes out of their mouth because they just love to hear themselves talk.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

TRP DOESN'T HATE WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ignoring is not the same as hating. I ignore women in my life all the time to varying degrees. If I did not I'd go insane.

The key is knowing what needs to be responded to and what is crap you can dismiss or ignore.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Actually I would say that society has slowly over time turned the majority of men into betas, and made it extremely difficult for alpha male traits to be passed down from father to son.

You're mixing up genetics with social conditioning now. A man and his son talk free of societal influences.

In the past it was always the fathers son to raise the son to be a man, now its handled by female teachers and the mother while the man works.

A great reason for homeschooling aside from all the government indoctrination that public schools do.

Also, I would like to point out that almost exclusively these women are post wall, so they are teaching them what THEY believe to be the best course of action for these men. Nice, pandering men who provide for their women. It isnt out of hatred or misandry, its out of benevolent ignorance.

A lot of them are post wall, or just so fat and jealous of attractive women that they'll try to sabotage the man supply.

[–]Meglomaniac 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

1) I disagree, I just meant that the overall number of men displaying/teaching alpha male traits has gone down substantially in the west. Father son may talk free of social influences, but if the father is beta he will pass on beta traits.

2) Yep

3) I dont think they do it out of spite and jealousy. I think that women just flat out dont know what women want especially young attractive women. They try to teach what THEY think is the right way to go, and infact its dead wrong.

[–]barneygumbled 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link

Western culture is highly feminized and geared towards making men betas or homosexuals.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suppose from the first time I saw one, and there's a reason for that which will allow me to naturally procreate and create children one day.

Most people realise their sexuality as they go through puberty.

What buffoon would actively choose homosexuality considering the stigma still surrounding the issue? All those gays in the 70s decided to go right ahead despite the AIDs epidemic?

Let me guess - it's a non-conformist cry for attention?

Or mental illness caused by toxoplasma

[+][deleted] -13 points-12 points-11 points 12 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

It's not a choice like "tacos or quesdilla for lunch today?" it's a choice in terms of voluntary acts and choosing to have sex with someone. It's a choice to examine your development for 1) sexual trauma, 2) imbalance in a parental relationship, 3) rejection from the opposite sex, and 4) isolation from the opposite sex or ignore all that and say "it happened during puberty xD".

[–]barneygumbled 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

it's a choice in terms of voluntary acts and choosing to have sex with someone.

Would this logic not suggest that if you or I sufficiently willed ourselves to, we could enjoy sex with a man? To be clear, one could be coerced in some way to have sex with a man, that doesn't make him homosexual.

In my mind, it's not possible for me to enjoy sex with a man. I do not have a choice in what I find sexually arousing.

It's really impossible to conclusively prove across a population, I can only say that this is how I understand my sexuality.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Would this logic not suggest that if you or I sufficiently willed ourselves to, we could enjoy sex with a man? To be clear, one could be coerced in some way to have sex with a man, that doesn't make him homosexual.

No, it means that you can complete the act; whether we enjoy it is another question of whether we've been conditioned to enjoy it, as someone would enjoy being whipped.

To be clear, one could be coerced in some way to have sex with a man, that doesn't make him homosexual.

That's right, it's called rape, and please go watch any prison documentary and hear how straight male prisoners, weak in physicality, entered jail with no protection, got repeatedly raped, and now feel "liberated in their sexuality" and leave jail gay, if they don't commit suicide from the mental anguish of being raped for so long and giving up all control to others. Just one example, no need to get hung up on it.

In my mind, it's not possible for me to enjoy sex with a man. I do not have a choice in what I find sexually arousing.

If the choice was get your ass kicked to death or get raped, there might be a time when your pain threshold gives out and you want to live, even in ultimate misery. We do not have choices in our current mindsets until the mindset is broken by external factors.

It's really impossible to conclusively prove across a population, I can only say that this is how I understand my sexuality.

Then don't start with proving they're born that way. I have spoken in earnest with gay family members and friends and they cannot deny that the four factors I've presented all contributed some way to how they are today.

[–]barneygumbled 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

This is where we're starting to confuse correlation with causation. Just because it can happen doesn't make it the rule. I'm willing to accept that a person can be conditioned into homosexuality, but I cannot accept that it's where all or even most instances can be traced to.

Would you say your friends would've been straight without those four factors? How do you think they'd answer that question?

[–]Warrior666 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yes, they are.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Complete horseshit. Please examine your developmental history (or theirs) for sexual trauma, imbalance in a parental relationship, rejection from the opposite sex, and isolation from the opposite sex, and you'll get a clearer picture of how they were not "born that way," and how our species could not continue without a man and woman procreating.

[–]1Gavlan_Wheel 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In a 1991 study, Bailey and Pillard found that 52% of monozygotic (MZ) brothers and 22% of the dizygotic (DZ) twins were concordant for homosexuality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biology_and_sexual_orientation

It has a genetic and environmental component, but no one knows what the environmental part is. It might even be something going on in the womb, no one is sure.

There is a great American Dad episode where Stan thinks that you can just become gay, so he decides to. It is a pretty funny argument that goes to the logical end of saying "being gay is a choice".

and how our species could not continue without a man and woman procreating.

Gays only make up about 5% of the population. Not to mention, they can still procreate. It's not like their reproductive organs don't work anymore.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought they can't get hard for women? Or do you mean by the aid of (medical) science alone?

[–]Warrior666 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

People are born with other serious genetic aberrations that would prevent our species from procreating. Still our species procreates. Thus, your argument is a straw man argument.

This does not, of course, make my answer correct. It only shows that your arguments are faulty and should be disregarded.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

People are born with other serious genetic aberrations that would prevent our species from procreating. Still our species procreates. Thus, your argument is a straw man argument.

This does not, of course, make my answer correct. It only shows that your arguments are faulty and should be disregarded.

1) So you're saying homosexuality is a genetic aberration?

2) In fact, it's you who is making the strawman argument, because we're only talking about a sexual preference's effect on reproductive options, how it is not a preference you're born with (completely counter to evolution), and unless you're admitting it's a mutation it's something that's conditioned into us by things we shouldn't have experienced growing up (that is the combination of sexual trauma, parental relationship imbalances, rejection from the opposite sex, and isolation from the opposite sex - let's go ahead and look at prisoners as an example - have you ever heard about how many men turn to each other for sexual comfort in there? Same in women's jails.).

3) It is not something like being born infertile or without legs or things that are openly spoken about as undesirable traits without compromising the rights to life and happiness that the person still has. Also, the argument applies to a traditionally physically attractive person as it does to any kind of disabled or mutated person you want to conjure up.

But hey, I'm apparently making a strawman, unlike you, because I actually explained my points and didn't misquote myself.

My arguments are not faulty, yours clearly are.

[–]Warrior666 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

1) I am not a psychologist or neurologist, so I can't make definitive statements. Since you make definitive statements, I assume you are a psychologist or neurologist.

I do know, however, that most psychological conditions stem from both genetic predisposition and circumstances of upbringing. I also know, that in homosexuals, certain areas in the brain can be shown to by physically different than from heterosexuals. This has first been published more than 20 years ago.

2) You retro-define what we are discussing to make your first answer seem more to the point than it is. We did not discuss that. That question was, whether homosexuals are born that way, and my answer was yes. That's the context, nothing else.

3) I don't understand what this has to do with anything.

But hey, you out-alpha'ed me so bad with your strong scientific argumentation, my balls are retracting into my torso.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Personally I think some are born that way. I also think that there are those who choose to be gay. The problem is it really is hard to tell which they are so it's better off assuming they're all born that way.

Also sexuality is not a binary option necessarily either. You don't have to pick straight or gay. There are shades of grey as Ron White likes to say in his stand up 'everyone is at least a little gay'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY711HJK7pg (Relevant Video, slightly NSFW with language)

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The problem is it really is hard to tell which they are so it's better off assuming they're all born that way.

Actually the problem is being complacent with assumptions.

As for Ron White, lol. What a terrible source of information or inspiration for personal health.

[+]veyron1001 -8 points-7 points-6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You can choose to be gay. There is nothing that is stopping you from doing it not doing it. You make it sound like they cant control it just like how women supposedly cant control being sluts. Your brain is a powerful organ.

[–]barneygumbled 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As I said to another poster, I can choose to have sex with a man but I can't choose to enjoy it....Does that make me unusual?

[–]sicsemperTrex 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do you choose to be celibate, Veryon?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Right.

Life is like one big shit test by women, they tell us what they REALLY want which is some beta provider, but what they act on instinct on is to go for the asshole alpha.

The betas fail the test because they're basically bowing down to womens expectations where as alphas are basically doing whatever the fuck they want and that power is a turn on for women.

This exact same behaviour bleeding through into leftist politics with all its PC nonsense, it's what is causing politics and the rest of the world to go to shit, IMHO.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even here, I say that homosexuality is linked to developmental trauma, relationships with your parents, and acceptance/availability of the opposite sex, and people scream homophobe and link me to articles about bonobos.

The problem isn't you being wrong, it's you making an argument that isn't even an argument, and certainly does nothing to increase the signal to noise ratio.

And I'm actually an embryo, typing on a specially designed in-utero keyboard. Works okay, but I understand that the insertion process isn't everyone's cup of tea.
