While I don't support violence, I can see how imposing your will and being a man may require to use violence to solve specific situations. The feeling of being a man, knowing your boundaries and enforcing them when other men overstep them is empowering.

Context: A girl asked my friend to go to a show with her and her friends. He asked me to go with him. I knew this girl was using my friend as a walking wallet, but he ignored my warnings.

Needless to say my friend spent $140 bucks on drinks and food to please her. After a while I was getting to know one of her friends, but my friend kept his full attention on her while she was giving her attention to a guy at another table.

I knew a boundary was crossed even if she invited my friend not me. I felt sympathy for my friend and was ready to leave and also trying to get my friend to leave with me when he told me the guy who she was giving her attention to was looking at him and giving little smug laughs. I told him to forget it and leave, but he wanted to stay.

Later while we were dancing the same guy approached and started to grind against her ass in front of my friend. My blood boiled, I grabbed the guy by the neck and pushed him away. I was there to have fun, I didn't want to fight, but I was ready to. Two of the guy's friends joined him, my friend joined me and as he is huge he easily grabbed two of them by the neck and pushed their heads against one another. Another friend I had at the show joined us, but then the fight stopped. After some childish screaming on their part we made peace with the guy's friends (but not with the guy, I looked him in the eye, he was butthurt and with eyes red from crying) before security intervened. We stayed a few minutes more, but we left shortly after. I told my friend never to contact this girl again.

Look, when a girl you're going out with leaves your side to go flirt with another man you leave. She doesn't deserve any of your time anymore, so you leave.

However when another man treats you like a pushover, like flirting with the girl you're out with in front of you while you pay for drinks, you need to respond like a man, don't walk away, stand tall and make your will known. This is nuclear obviously, but who would want to go out again with a woman who flirts with other dudes while you're there?

Later that night my friend told me how he was angry, but would never think of getting violent and that he would probably leave feeling used and like a pussy. I'm happy for him and for me.

Adding some points to clarify:

It wasn't about securing the girl. I think it's weak to fight over a girl. The guy was openly disrespecting and provoking my friend, invading his space and laughing at him. I shoved him away because he provoked my friend, I don't give a shit about the girl.

Starting fights is wrong. Standing up to assholes when they're provoking you or your friends isn't.

I didn't want to fight, but couldn't stand watching, I didn't hesitate. No punches were thrown and we all made peace in the end, with the exception of the asshole who was butthurt.

Others will treat you how you let them to. That asshole won't provoke my friend again any time soon. If being Alpha means letting others make fun of you or your friends and running away from fights then fuck it I'll be beta.
