How do Alphas deal with depression?

Most naturals (and decently attractive females) have the advantage of not having to endure as many depressions as others. When you are loved by many and are bombarded with positive emotions, it's hard to fall into depression. So there's something to learn from hot females: build up an ecosystem of positive emotions. This means that, wherever you go, befriend people to the point that they chase after you to provide you with good emotions.

I've done this at work and it usually zaps my bad mood instantly. I'd walk in the front door and head over to the clock-in machine and by that time I've already said "hi, whats up", "hey whats going on" to several people. Next week, when we're more familiar, they come over to chat with me, etc.

Find out why you are depressed and turn it into energy to fuel something better for yourself. Use it for purely personal growth on whatever level you need to. Hit the gym harder, learn a new skill, etc.

Unless, you are taking about clinical depression. Then, go see a doctor and take some pills.

A mixture of acceptance and actually doing something about it.

I am depressed because I am unattractive to girls.
I become attractive through gym, gaining confidence, and game
I am no longer depressed.

Obviously things aren't always that simple and easy but even just starting to work on something can help ease depression. And of course actually fixing it will make the depression go away.

Acceptance comes into play for things out of my control.

Family member dies
I accept life for what it is and understand it happens to everyone.

These are two overly simplified examples (Real world situations are more complex) but just sticking through these two philosophies as a guiding path would be key.

Remember the early days when that HIMYM show narrated by the uber beta with his epic alpha friend? That friend had a quote I didn't like/get at the time: "Whenever I get sad I stop being sad and start being awesome." One thing that isn't stressed enough is how important it is to do cool shit. Go work out, play paintball, race gocarts, hike, rock climb, sit on the beach, meditate. You need to do something to distract yourself and afterwards you'll feel pretty good. The beta move is to wallow in it and complain on facebook with ambiguous cry for attention posts.

I don't get depressed as in sad. I might become clinically depressed at one point or another but I don't let myself become depressed because I prove to myself I am worth something by doing something useful. If you let yourself feel sorry for yourself that is being a little bitch, but of course there are reasons why people may develop the illness.

Break down the issues you are facing in life into the smallest possible problems and tackle them in pieces, building your way up and out of them.

Depression often stems from hopelessness and seemingly intractable problems. The solution is often to tackle them, but on terms that can only lead to victory.

Act in a way that does not give into depression. That is, to give into behaviors that stem from depression or anxiety allows this behavior to sink in and establish bad habit.

Take impeccable care of your health. Eat right, exercise, socialize, and take on challenges. Get out of prolonged, bad, unmanageable situations and cut destructive people out of your life.

Not once, ever in my life, have I seen someone depressed on a boat. It just doesn't happen. It's impossible. It's impossible to depressed when you are doing cool shit. And it's really easy to be depressed when you aren't doing shit.
