What is TheRedArchive?

What's new since Part One?

• We went from 5,000 posts to now 160,000+ archived posts
• Search by title, post, author and comment
• Up to 15k deleted TRP posts have been recovered and can now be seen on the website

How were the deleted posts recovered?

A very long process that took me hours to figure out. I already wrote how I did it, so PM me if you're interested. Shortly said, I coded a script that downloaded backups from http://files.pushshift.io/reddit/submissions/ > removed all non-TRP posts > checked current archive for deleted posts > the deleted ones are replaced with the ones from backup.

How many were recovered?

In total, 15,395 posts. Here's a preview of my script in action recovering 4 months of deleted posts. (Each backup was 10-20gb, so I had to do month by month due to lack of space).
