Lol... You're cute.

[–]cabsarehere5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

you apologize too much for just sharing your opinion. Getting a new and different viewpoint is always a good thing because it keeps me grounded, thinking, and questioning.

I can see where your theory comes from, but I think you made a couple of logical jumps that I do not agree with.

First of all, I have a great relationship with my mother so that theory can be thrown out the window in regard to myself. However, I did go through a bit of a slump when my girlfriend broke up with me about two years ago. However, I did not really harbor a more than normal resentment towards her at the time. I examined what happened and found flaws in our relationship in general: timing, compatibility, location, etc. However, I also found flaws in myself.

This inner reflection led me to discover that I was doing some things wrong in terms of male-female relations. I was way too needy. I relied on her for my day-to-day interactions and hung out less and less with my friends. These are things that I now would not let happen in a committed relationship. I believe a couple should remain two separate individuals, not become one entity.

While I do agree with your theory that sometimes it takes a failed relationship or a failed upbringing to sway someones thinking in a different direction, I do not believe that it is as vile of a thinking as you make it out to be.

__

I also want to make a comment on your insistence that "women are people too!", "if she wants to leave, she can leave!", etc, etc.

I mean, duh. What kind of thinking is this. Women are people just as much as men are people. However, to not acknowledge the difference between the two is to just be ignorant of reality. That is not to say that all women do this one thing and all men do this one thing. But on the spectrum of things like jobs, you can make a guess where a woman and man will be. The man would most likely be in a calculatory (made this word up, im a g like that) position while the woman would most likely be in a job where she has human contact.

If you do not agree with the above statement and instead believe that women and men are identical in all regards besides the physical, then I believe that we will be talking at a crossroads in any subsequent comments.

However, I hope that we can continue some sort of discourse as I find picking peoples' brains to be rewarding

I hope you would’t mind continuing the conversation with me. I’ve been trying to understand this subreddit and the people who have swallowed the pill but I never get a response when I try to start a conversation either with members here or over in red pill women.

Some of things that the red pill encourage are great advice to people regardless of gender: be an independent person, don’t be needy, improve yourself, etc. It’s the claim of what women are and how they should behave that I can’t understand or relate with. This could be because my background and life experiences are vastly different from the people of this community. Sometimes it feels like they are complete opposites, red pill’s common experiences of how women are is a rarity in mine. Manipulate and/or hamstering women have only existed in my high school years.

Yes, in general men go into occupations/majors that are calculatory at higher rates than women. Then again so do asians, at gender proportions much more equal than normal. There are enough people that deviate from the norm in this world that I can’t determine my daily interactions with people based on averages. Averages are more useful for studies and policy making. I’ve never been able to look at a person and say ‘oh this person is a male, therefore it is more likely he is better than me at math’ or ‘oh this man that I am talking to must be a better leader. It just hasn’t been useful.

If your experiences have differed, what is there to discuss?

I'd be happy to discuss the speed bumps you've encountered.

[–]wuboo 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm trying to figure out where the red pill world view goes in relation to my own world view and I think for this to work I need a few things clarified. Reading through the posts and links haven't helped so perhaps a discussion will.

How relevant is red pill for work place relationships with women and strictly platonic relationships with women? The community heavily focuses on romantic/sexual relationships with women but if I were to apply their views on women in this arena to other areas it makes me rather nervous.

What would an ideal society based on red pill look like? I'm guessing this would mean raising children based on traditional ideals of masculinity and femininity. If so, then this would be detrimental to people who are lgbt .

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The reason we focus heavily on sexual relationships is because that is the purpose of the sub: "a discussion of sexual strategy..." as is written clearly in the description. While it does extend beyond that, the main focus of our discussions will always and should always center around sex

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You have a lot of fear. And that's ok.

Take the path that you fear most, it's going to be ok. We don't have all the answers. We don't have a crystal ball. All we can do is take it one step at a time. Observing as we go.

You can join us. Wait behind. But do not waste your time trying to redirect us. Because we've had enough of that for one lifetime.

Some say workplace relations improve. Personally, I avoid working with women because they generally are a pain in the ass. So I don't have any female colleagues.

And an ideal society.... first you have to answer "What is The Red Pill?" with specifics. The answer to that question is still in its development. So I don't have the answer.

However, it would mean raising based on traditional gender roles. However, I'm not convinced it's detrimental to the lgbt community. Even homosexual couples have a "man" and a "woman". If a boy decides at age 13 he's a "man", good for him. But if he decides he's a "woman", good for him. He'll now have a clear path and guidance as to what that means.

There is not much discussion regarding lgbt and homosexuality on TRP. Largely because lesbos stay away and gay-men are off enjoying life.

But if the gay community ever decides to join TRP, it will be interesting to see if they have a place here. If they chose not to participate, all I can say is an ideal society would not FORCE a gay man to act like a "masculine" straight man. Why the hell would we do that?

So yeah, I don't see why a RP society would be detrimental to the LGBT community since RP doesn't seem to apply to them. It would only be detrimental if it were FORCED on them. And I don't see why that would happen. RPers are in no way interested in making every gay-man "masculine" and every gay-woman "feminine".

They'd either go about their business or use TRP guidelines for gender to help them formulate who they are as a person. Either way, they're fine.

[–]wuboo 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You're right that RP for the most part doesn't apply to the lgbt community. I think we will disagree on women's abilities and capabilities in the workplace but that is a different discussion. You're right that there is some fear but I wasn't clear with where I am coming from and that's my fault. I am a gay woman.

What concerns me is what would happen if I were to encounter a RP person. It seems like RP is a small group but it's possible that I'd run into one. Would RP beliefs on women be projected onto me? How would it effect workplace interactions if a colleague is inclined to believe that I am emotional and incapable? I would hope that my worth is based on my abilities to produce good results, congeniality, and whether or not I am a good person.

The lgbt community is small but not isolated from the world so it's relevant for me to understand how we do or don't intersect with other communities and what would happen if our worlds collide.

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I honestly don't need to know if you're gay or a woman. It doesn't affect my views.

What "concerns" you about running into an RP man? You're gay. It shouldn't be hard to repel them.

As far as work goes, most corporate environments are "patriarchal" not because men are trying to destroy women. But because it's most conducive to our current business world. A "feminine" workplace just wouldn't get things done. It's just the way it is. If you can design a corporate feminine environment that can compete with masculine ones, go for it. But I'll be as shocked as a snowflake in hell if it happens.

So what that means in the workplace is you demonstrate your value. There's a great response some where around here from a husband talking about RP theories in the workplace. And how his wife needed to adopt them. And when she did, she became much more successful. If I can find it, I'll pass it your way.

Whether or not you are a good person is irrelevant in the workplace. Most companies have some kind of meritocracy. Produce and you will go up the latter. A company's bottomline is gender-blind.

And I don't see the lgbt and TRP world "colliding" except for instances like this. You came into a locker room and expected to be treated like you were in a kumbaya hippy circle. This is just a matter of cultural respect. The culture here is difficult for you to understand, but that's doesn't mean we're changing.

Also, at the end of the day there are always variants. I do believe men are more intelligent than women. Not because men are more capable, but because women choose at a young age to invest their time in becoming a Barbie Doll instead of a Rocket Scientist. However, that doesn't mean a woman couldn't choose Rocket Science, it's just rare. If you're in a work environment, and you're producing, you'll be fine.

[–]wuboo 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've enjoyed our discussion and came here with no other intent nor expectation than getting answers to questions that I had. Thank you for taking the time to answer them.

When I said a good person earlier I meant a person with good ethics. I'm quite aware that whether or not I help the homeless is not important to the workplace. Business ethics on the other hand are important.

[–]cabsarehere1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I believe that stereotyping is an important evolutionary trait. There are 7 billion people on this planet, it is impossible to converse with all of them... therefore you pick up ink links from Person A and when you come in contact with a Person B who happens to look like Person A, you automatically equate the two. The brain looks for simple solutions to complex problems and this is one of the easiest.

Men are perceived as better leaders. Why? Because 90% of the best leaders have been men. Is that because they were the best leaders? Is it because times were incredibly sexist and women didn't have the chance to lead? Is it because men have the extreme personalities made to lead more often than women do? I don't know. All I know is that my personal experience has taught me that men are better leaders than women.

Therefore, if I was in a cinch situation and had to make a decision fast to give leadership to a man or a woman (all things being equal) then I would definitely give it to the man. I define this as sexism. I do not think that sexism is necessarily bad.

However, very rarely are things that EVEN. If I need to choose between a man and a woman to be my leader and the man is huddled over and staring at his feet while the woman is confidently glaring at me. I WOULD CHOOSE THE WOMAN.

The default setting in my mind is a male leader. That means all things equal I will pick the male. So what does that mean for women who want to be leaders? Work your ass off. What does that mean for men that want to be leaders? Work your ass off. Its the same exact thing for both sexes. The best candidate wins. It just so happens that the tie breaker goes to the male.

There has to be a tie breaker all things equal... would you rather it be the woman because she is "more caring"? then you're being equally as sexist. Everyone has their preferences and to ignore them is to just buy into a society where people do not share their real thoughts but instead water them down to appeal to certain people.

Off the top of my head, I generally respect Indian people, Chinese people, Pakistani people, and Japanese people more than most other Asian ethnicities. I have met many of these people and know them to be hard working and similar to me in my view of hard work. That does not mean that a Spanish person could come into the room and be the most talented person of the bunch... but the expectations are set lower for a person that comes from a country that does not value hard work compared to others. To ignore that is to be ignorant of reality.

[–]wuboo 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree that heuristics are a great method of solving complex problems. In my case the tie breaker for all things equal would be whoever I knew better.

I had brought up culture earlier since culture has a large effect on what people of different genders achieve. The work ethic of asians closes a large portion of the gap between rates of asian men and women going into and succeeding in STEM fields.

As a side note: I'm still not sure what makes someone a leader. Yes, a person can be in a leadership position but it doesn't mean they are capable of leading. It's a set of qualities or actions that I have a difficult time defining and seems to vary based on the problem at hand.

[–]amandeel 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

There is no apparent reason for why women are considered emotional on a brain level, as far as I know. (Please, prove me otherwise, I love learning new things.) So as far as thinking go, man and woman are the same.

As I see it, much of the red pill comes from an age where women were considered inferior to men. (The tipical job difference that you mentioned comes from the same age, and it is slowly starting to change.) That is my main problem with this sub. I don't know much about the red pill, only what I picked up from different threads, so there is a fair chane I'm wrong.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Why women are considered emotional from a scientific, biological perspective:

http://www.livescience.com/4085-emotional-wiring-men-women.html

[–]weedtese 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This study haven't investigated neuroplasticity: eg. the brain is extremely flexible; such research cannot target the differences made by the society themselves.

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Neuroplasticity only goes so far.

I have a hard time believing you can change the color of the sky to red simply by the power of rewiring

[–]weedtese 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Neuroplasticity only goes so far.

[–]amandeel 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Interesting, thank you. So women might be more emotional.

Still no reason to treat them like a child, as a certain post on the front says so. But that is a different matter now.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think you're taking that out of context. Treating a woman like a child essentially just means setting boundaries about what behavior you will accept during relationships and not responding to emotional appeals. Children tend to try and get their way through emotions as opposed to reason and logic, and when women do that its not encouraged that you indulge them

[–]cabsarehere0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If you really examine it, I doubt 'emotional' is the right way to put it. Men have large amounts of testosterone, women have large amounts of estrogen. These hormones influence the bodies differently.

While I doubt you will read a study (I barely skim academic articles for things I'm interested in) here is a video series of a man investigating the scientific claims of feminists:

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1vuho8/the_documentary_that_made_scandinavians_cut_all/

I hope you find the time to watch at least the first part (He interviews various scientists/researchers about their findings)

__

I believe that 3rd wave feminism is inherently bigoted towards men and is just socially accepted for the time being. I respect 1st and 2nd wave feminism to an extent, women deserve the right to vote and to pursue their own pursuit of happiness.

However, 3rd wave feminists use their hand-up on society in order to fight for "equality" which I believe is in fact a sham for fighting strictly for women to have advantages that men do not have, can not actively fight for, or are not taken serious about.

What feminism will love to tell you is that women are oppressed by the PATRIARCHY! Evil white men have created a system that purposefully puts down women in order to keep the power in the man's hands. This is a hypothesis for the perceived power that men hold in our society. This hypothesis is assumed true by feminists and is not property scrutinized because by doing so, one is labeled a sexist.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iARHCxAMAO0

this video is an example of feminists not being able to handle an opposing view. One of them even tells the guy that is trying to attend the rally that he all he needs is feminism and that it is inclusive for his needs. She literally believes that he should not pursue other means of knowledge because feminism is so perfect.

[Disclaimer: the video is clearly biased in terms of being recorded and uploaded by someone who wanted to make these feminists look bad. However, the amount of hate that is clearly visible because someone is giving a speech with an opposing view is disheartening.]

__

Back to the point of feminism being a hypothesis that is assumed true. There is a "patriarchy" that is oppressing women. This hypothesis is constantly supported by claims that women make 77 cents to the dollar to their male counterparts. This claim is thrown around daily. I am actually in a womens study class currently (I thought communication and gender would actually be about how genders communicate and not about how hard womens lives are... i regret the decision greatly) and the TA for the class brought up this statistic in order to show how far women have to go.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-gender-pay-gap-is-a-complete-myth/

this is the first search for wage gap myth but highlights the main points. Women and men pursue different careers, work different hours, raise families, etc. When these variables are accounted for the wage gap disappears. This stat is so clearly misconstrued, it is insane that it is peddled constantly by people in person and on the internet.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8803019/Young-women-now-earning-more-than-men.html

women are currently out earning men after graduating from college.

http://www.aei-ideas.org/2013/05/stunning-college-degree-gap-women-have-earned-almost-10-million-more-college-degrees-than-men-since-1982/

women graduate college almost twice as much as men do.

If either of these statistics had their genders switched, feminists would be freaking out. Instead, this is a perceived 'victory' over the destructive 'patriarchy' that does not actually exist.

Another statistics that feminists use to show that we need them desperately is that 1 in 4 women on college campuses are raped. This seems like an alarming statistic, but of course it is skewed like most any statistic that is peddled to further an agenda.

http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/economic-intelligence/2013/10/24/statistics-dont-back-up-claims-about-rape-culture?src=usn_tw

all it is is the skewing of words and definitions of rape that causes the statistic to be so high. Its insane that it is not even more than 1 in 4 when you count rape as consuming an alcoholic beverage and having sexual conduct. Of course, even when both a man and woman are drinking it is always the mans fault in the eye of the law. This is just a double standard, nothing wrong with double standards... but of course double standards that hurt women are evil byproducts of a patriarchy that tries to keep them down.

I literally have no idea how women believe they are oppressed. They are doing the best they have ever been doing in terms of career success and college graduation rates at the expense of their male counterparts. However, an honest examination of the world and its gender relations would reveal something that feminists would not want. They do not want their information to be questioned.

Dismantling all these bullshit groups like feminism, or mens right activists, or people pushing black power.... its all just bigotry. All of it. I believe that our society has to start labeling these people as bigots instead of the people that question the things they say.

[–]amandeel 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Like a religion, feminism can be destructive, when it turns to bigotry. That does not mean it is plain stupid and should be dismantled.

I don't think women are treated equally to men. Whether it is men being treated better, or men being treated worse, it is still not equality. Does the red pill, and those who swallowed the pill uphold equality? If so, why is it always thrashing women?

One more thing, not being able to say no does not mean yes. And how could it be the fault of an unconscious woman?

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Define equality...

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Any proof your theory works?

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

EXACTLY!

I don't know why there's been the influx of all these non-RPers posting shit.

But the best argument against anyone like this is reality. Here at TRP we don't make theories then smile about how much sense they make or how nice the world would be IF our theory were correct.

We realty-match. We match our theory to realty.

[–]amandeel 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

My theory matches my reality. Maybe it does not fit yours, and I'm not trying to pressure it on anyone, I just thought sharing something wouldn't be a problem. If it does not apply to you, then move on.

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I will not simply "move on". I will stand my ground.

You have come into the RP world with little evidence supporting what you say. The problem with that is new people might believe you, because they so desperately want to. And without real evidence, you're going to confuse guys who are new.

I take guiding other men seriously, partly because nobody was there for me.

There's no problem having a theory. But if it's just the same ole' thing we've already heard. The same ole' thing that doesn't seem to match up with reality for MOST men. Then what's the point?

The only point I can see in is to dissuade new members. Maybe you've half swallowed the pill and you need more convincing. If that's the case, just come out and say it.

But this influx of theories with a dearth of supporting evidence is starting to bother me.

[–]amandeel -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

If my theory doesn't apply to them, they will ignore it. Of that I am sure. But if my theory fits them more, and seems better for them than the red pill, then what is the problem with them finding a new aspect of life? One that has the potential to make them more happy? If it didn't, why would they choose mine over the red pill? So if it is flawed, why worry? And if it isn't, what is the problem with them choosing mine over the red pill? There are no universal truths, you know.

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

There are no universal truths, you know.

There are universal truths. What kind of statement is that?! You're making a "universal truth" that states there are no universal truths!?

This is the problem. You don't think very logically. And you have experienced life differently than most people. And many people have come here looking for help and guidance.

If they come across a poorly thought out argument from someone with a narrow experience, it could guide them off a cliff.

Many new people here are looking for help. You're argument offers confusion.

If what you say rings true to them, they'll find it somewhere else.

[–]weedtese 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Careful! Questions, empathizing and stuff are dangerous!

[–]amandeel -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

So my argument is so poorly crafted, that it beats the red pill?

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You're presuming that it "beats" it without demonstrating... your argument for it "beating" is that it beats TRP. That's just not much of an argument.

[–]amandeel -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

My post is dangerous, because it confuses newcomers, and guides them off a cliff, so to say. But my post is on TRP, literally on the sub where they came for "help". Also, it is downvoted, and I got torn a few new ones in the comment section. Why would they turn their back on TRP, back towards the cliff, if it was so poorly crafted? Why are you afraid it would turn newcomers away, if it does not "beat" TRP? You see, you yourself gave the best argument.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're like one of those women who can't admit they're wrong.

Why are you afraid it would turn newcomers away

Not afraid. Concerned. Because I've been in their shoes, and although they have to take their own path, that path is much easier to walk knowing you're not the first.

And again... ugh... how do I get this through to you? I will return. With a story. Because maybe that form of communication with turn that lightbulb on.

You see, you yourself gave the best argument.

The best argument isn't the one always believed.

Sometimes people just believe what they want to believe. And a man with a fresh wound will ALWAYS want to believe there's a woman out there somewhere who can heal it.

But that's not what's best for him. Like a father who doesn't spoil their child because he knows best... we try to watch out for these guys.

What's best for him is to heal, on his own. And TRP is a huge part of that.

Going back out into the world with poor knowledge of how it works, doing the same thing that DIDN'T work before... he's just going to get hurt worse.

That's why the mods do what they can to control the signal. Because if it gets too convoluted, people won't heal.

Hey Dox, since we're men it's worth our while to continuously reevaluate our theories based on experience.

It's worth considering whether we match our theory to reality or our reality to the theory.

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree completely.

[–]minuscipher 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here is my theory; you're having a tough time swallowing the pill. You feel a bit bitter and some how some way you're trying to stand out from the crowd by standing on your soap box in a room full of wolves. Try it for yourself then talk.

[–]amandeel -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, to be honest, I'm happy with my life, so no thank you, I'm declining on the red pill offer. But you know, whatever makes you guys happy. :)

(P.s.: Your theory is even more flawed than mine. :) )

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She left you because she was happier with someone else...

Yeah, but why was she happier with someone else? How about people who ended up here after failing in many relationships, seeing the same issues, and only succeeded romantically after finding TRP?

You say we are not animals. You are entitled to your opinion. But we here tend to disagree. Human beings are driven first and foremost by our biology, and our biology drives women to behave in the ways we describe here, and our members are constantly posting studies proving this.

What I think you have the biggest issue with is the bitterness you see here sometimes, and yes that bitterness exists, but it isn't our end game. That bitterness that newer visitors feel has less to do with how sexual and romantic relationships work, and more to do with how much popular culture and their families have lied about those relationships, to their detriment. Our goal is not to hate women, but to understand how best to manage our interactions with them.

Lastly, a relationship IS about more than sex; but sex is not a "bonus". Its an integral part. There are no happy sexless marriages.

You can stand by what you said all you want. Say it somewhere else.

[–]amandeel 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No harm done in expressing my opinion, I guess.

[+]amandeel -6 points-5 points-4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This generalizing crap is the worst. Men must act like brutes, while women must be sensitive.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

I think a lot of you are here because either your mother neglected you, you didn't get enough attention, or your SOs left you for some reason, or you are unhappy in your relationship.

Well let's see: My mom worked out of the house when I was a kid just so she could raise me herself and is still my number one fan. I grew up hounded by girls my age, older girls, younger girls, and even women old enough to be my mother. And I'm currently in a relationship with a girl who I consider my best friend.

I grew up surrounded by women. I have a shitload of sisters who watch my back like pitbulls and they taught me uncomfortable truths about women ever since I was tiny. I've been with so many women I'm a little disgusted with myself and I don't even remember most of their names.

I like it here because a lot of this redpill theory is shit I've known my entire life but have never been allowed to discuss. Hypergamy, In-group bias, Powertalk, Dark Triad, etc. This is implicit knowledge to me learned through experience. I'm just relieved to finally hear someone else thinking these thoughts. You guys are a breath of fresh air.

[–]amandeel -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

As I said, it might be flawed, and there are exceptions.

Nonetheless, I'm happy for you :) So the redpill is simply not for me. :)

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Are you a guy or a girl?

[–]amandeel -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

How is this relevant?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Girls are less likely to accept TRP because it runs contrary to the qualities they want to see in themselves

[–]amandeel -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I am a guy.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

So you're a girl. A guy always admits to being a guy.

It's perhaps the most relevant characteristic about you in regards to what is discussed here. Society by and large accepts the dark qualities of men and portrays them as such. There are no myths about men being good people. According to our culture men are pigs, beasts, savages, oppressors, monsters, drunks, criminals, murderers, and rapists.

On the other hand society appears to reject the notion that women are equally disgustingly human. That women have a dark side as well. We rarely hear that being discussed and when it is brought up, the speaker is promptly silenced through public censure.

If you're a girl, you already know about the dark side of women so you really don't need to be told twice. You probably grew up witnessing things like how girls compete with one another through spreading rumors and socially excluding one another. In fact you may want to keep those things under wraps for fear of how they may reflect on you personally.

However if you were a guy, the dark and ugly side of women might come as a huge shock to you. Because it simply isn't shown in mainstream culture and any mention of it in public brings swift punishment. TRP is teaching those guys about the dark side of women that they've been raised to believe doesn't exist.

[–]amandeel 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

I have no misconceptions about humans in general. I do know that people are shit, so to say. Men and women also. (While both are capable of beautiful things.) It just looks like that (while women should be hold responsible for their actions, just as men), everything is the women's fault, whether it be a failed relationship, or being unhappy.

Also, if I ask why does it matter if I'm a guy or a girl (like there are only true genders...) that makes me a girl? That is one big jump. Still, I'm a guy.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

It just looks like that (while women should be hold responsible for their actions, just as men), everything is the women's fault, whether it be a failed relationship, or being unhappy.

Have you read many of the threads here? The central theme of the entire subreddit is taking responsibility for your own life and working towards improving it. It's not uncommon for members here to call one another out when they are "hamstering." That sort of in-group constructive criticism doesn't indicate that users here are saying "everything is women's fault." What it sounds like you may be experiencing is a relative higher level of criticism directed at women here simply because almost nowhere else are women's behaviors examined with the same level of cold logic and lack of chivalry. There is no sugarcoating here of either men or women. If you're used to people sugarcoating women, then yeah, this place is gonna seem a little harsh to you.

Also, if I ask why does it matter if I'm a guy or a girl (like there are only true genders...) that makes me a girl?

I'm a guy.

Don't lie to me, young lady.

[–]amandeel -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Did you read that thread about a mother putting his kid up for adoption? Literally no backstory, and the default reaction is how she is a slut and a cock-craving bitch. So pardon me if it seems that TRP defaults men to dress everything up as the womans fault.

Also, about my gender, it does not matter what you think about it. Still, I am a guy. End of discussion.

EDIT: Man, do I love the word also, or what. :D

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I remember reading that thread and didn't see any of the language you've described except in those comments that were downvoted to the bottom. Care to link to any that were upvoted?

I do remember reading many comments recognizing hypergamy as the reason why his woman would have left his father for another higher-status male. Do you automatically read "women are hypergamous" as inherently insulting to women?

Also, about my gender, it does not matter what you think about it. Still, I am a guy. End of discussion.

It certainly seems to matter to you whether I think you're a girl or a guy, otherwise you would have let the issue drop by now. And I choose when this discussion ends, not you, Amanda.

[–]Endorsed ContributorDoxasticPoo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

And I choose when this discussion ends, not you, Amanda.

True that... These non-RPers posting here are getting very aggressive with "ending" a discussion. Either as explicitly as this guy or just effectively "yelling" on the internet.

I find it hilarious that they think we'll just stop because they "demand" it.

OP came here. These non-RPers come here. We're not asking them in. But they then act like this... Hilarious. They are very confused about where they are.

You are so far off the right track you may as well not even be here. I can assure you no feelings have been hurt.

Edit: Just looked at your post history and your brother (who I presume has the same view as you), is being cheated on by his girlfriend. How can you think your way is correct?

[–]amandeel 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was a misinterpreted thing on my part. She was not cheating, also, my brother recently started reading the pill, so... I don't think cheatin is correct, but there are more reasons to it, than being a bitch.

[–]AWiseBro 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I'm guessing you're of average appearance and social standing and have never really wavered through the spectrum of attractiveness. You've seen a pretty consistent nature of people, both good and bad. That being said you can never internalize any of this until you try and apply it to reality.

For me personally all I needed to see the world through a red pill lens was my body transformation. I went from skinny fat to aesthetic as fuck, picture me as your average men's physique competitor except I also train legs. In doing this I realized all people function on a subconscious level and it greatly impacts everyone's life. The Halo effect is a very real thing.

Until you've tried to alter you behavior or your appearance then you can never understand any of this. You can chose to accept TBP fantasy world you live in where we've all somehow evolved beyond what we're genetically programmed to do but it doesn't change the reality of the situation.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Any advice on a workout/diet routine for someone still trying to get rid of skinny fat?

[–]AWiseBro 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Join a gym(anything but Planet Fitness) and start lifting weights. A good routine is PHAT by Layne Norton but it's sort of high volume for rookies so just keep the volume down till you adapt.

You'll never break out of skinny fat until you start lifting weights and it's going to take some time. Looking back I wish I cared less about losing fat and spent more of my first few years getting stronger. Your body has no problem cutting fat if you bust your ass in the weight room and eat right. Plus you'll need a few years of heavy lifting before cutting fat will really actually make you look good. Most people way overestimate the amount of muscle they have and generally look like shit when they try and cut down to 10%.

Don't do excessive cardio either, it really won't get you anywhere body comp wise. A small amount can help but its way too easy to over do it and fuck with your recovery/strength. If you do any stick to HIIT. You can maintain 10% BF with just resistance training and a good diet anyways and cardio is boring as shit.

[–]trophyboyfriend 2 points2 points2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Join a gym and become a regular ---> 3-4 times a week for several months.

Get so you recognize the staff (and they recognize you) and other people who work out there. It's less about looking buff than it is about just being recognized by the regulars. A simple nod to people you recognize will eventually do it (Hey, I see you here working out, I'm also working out regularly, I acknowledge your existence here). Then when you have established yourself and are comfortable, start asking these guys what their routines are or for tips. Most are pretty friendly once you have familiarity.

I think you're over thinking this whole thing. As a certified gym rat I have no problems giving advice to completely random people I've never seen before. I know what it's like to be new and feel completely out of your comfort zone and lost. That being said don't expect me to be your personal trainer either. It would help to hire a PT initially if you can afford one.

[–]amandeel 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Jokes on you, I look great. :) Nevertheless, I guess the red pill is not for me.

[–]AWiseBro 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I doubt it but if you are and have been your whole life then it would be unsurprising for you to have this stance. People who have always been successful or above average never have to question anything until reality slaps them in the face(c.f. the Wall for women).

[–]amandeel -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I wasn't always this good looking. But recently I started smoking pot and thinking about life 'n stuff, and I got to say, I'm gorgeous.

[–]purecyse 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

At first I thought "why do we, as a community, let people that don't believe or are against the red pill create these topics."

After more consideration, I can see the worth in them but I do want to know one thing: what are your credentials?

How old are you? How many relationships have you been in and how long were these relationships? Do the people in your life come to you for advice or do you seek out others? Have you ever been a part of what you THINK the ideal relationship looks like? And, if so, what happened to that relationship?

There are several of us that are either in or recently out of long term relationships. I don't mind your generalizations, I don't mind that you don't "believe" in the red pill, I don't mind the feeling that you're talking AT me but I would like to know from what experiences have you drawn your conclusions.

[–]amandeel 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well, not much, but I still hope I can have my own opinion on things.

Let's see. I'm 21 ( I know, I'm so young I know nothing), I've been in 3 relationships ( I know, 3 is almost none), two of them ended with crushing me. But yes, now I'm in the perfect relationship ( almost two years( I know, two years is nothi)) and very happy with it. ( We both are.) Yes, people come to me for advice on occasions. I sometimes seek the advice of others, but mostly figure out my own problems myself with reasoning and sometimes impulsive things. If you were wondering, my Jung psychological profile is INTP. Also, I have a rat.

I didn't realize I needed some kind of training to have an opinion.

[–]purecyse 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not really training but having some sort of experience to back up that opinion would be ideal.

Being young isn't a disadvantage, actually. You could potentially have several areas to experiment and experience all things having to do with life and relationships.

It doesn't seem that you have.

I hope your relationship stays strong. Good day.

There's a lot of people here dissagreeing with you and slinging hate. Which, is pretty normal for this sub for anyone who dissagrees with their beliefs. I agree and dissagree with some of your statements.

It is so easy to call her a bitch, to label someone as alpha or beta, essentially to make it her fault.

There's A LOT of anger floating around in this sub. Quite a few people here have been hurt. It's easier to be angry than to forgive. And many people seem to have found this sub in their time of hurt which just amplified their anger. That said, there is also a lot of HATE that goes on here. While anger is perfectly acceptable HATE towards a general group of people can be detramental to your psyche and to your outward life.

Men are not meant to lead and women are not meant to follow,

I agree and dissagree to an extent. If you go over to RPW and check out their ideal of this men don't just blindly lead they take into account their spouses opinion, wants, and needs when leading. Most men LIKE to be able to lead in a positive way. The other day there was a really good post on here from a married guy who went to Disney Land with his family and how good it felt to lead and have direction than have his wife lead. While it's a silly example it's a very good example of how it plays out in day to day life. He wasn't leading because he wanted to dominate his wife and children. He was leading so that the whole family would stay on task and have as much fun as possible. Men aren't just meant to blindly lead and disregard their spouses opinion or wants they're supposed to take them into account and make the best decision for both of them.

The path of life should be walked hand in hand, like a team.

You're right. And the book MMSL has a great metaphore for this. It's called Captain and First Mate. It's what I said before. But there are times where the first mate needs to over rule the captian. I know if my husband were ever to take his keys out while he was drunk I would do everything possible to stop him from driving. But this kind of stuff doesn't happen often. You're supposed to be with someone who you trust. Trust is a HUGE factor in any relationship. And if you don't trust one another the relationship is doomed to failure no matter how "alpha" you are.

This phillosophy is truely best applied in a marriage or a LTR. The way many men here are appliying it is just to get as much pussy as possible, even from chicks who are already in relationships. They complain that their girlfriend or wife left them for someone else and they go do the same damn thing as those people who made the person they love cheat. There's a lot of hypocracy and circle jerking on this sub. But the best posts here, IMO, are from the married or LTR men.

[–]amandeel 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Reading this my opinion on the red Pill improved a lot. I see that there are normal people here, not just hurt feelings and you can actually to someone (you are not the only one)

Still, it is not for everyone. Maybe it works for you and a lot of other people, but I'm sure it wouldn't work for me. I'm content with myself, my life and my relationship. But if the red pill helps people to be content while not hurting anybody then it is a good thing it exists.

[–]Woompus 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're obviously intelligent, and definitely not afraid of diction. I'd bet you have many 'alpha' traits which is why you are happy in your LTR. Her post was spot on from what I've found. To an extent this is a place is used to vent, and with venting comes BS. Learn to seperate the wheat from the chaff.
