Picture this: A guy who has been an almost total beta for most of his life has finally started to come to terms with reality the way TRP paints it. However, he still has along way to go and is currently still predominantly, for all intends and purposes, a beta.

His realization of the TRP reality has happened to coincide with his LTR's decline. A LTR that has never been too great to begin with, and, as the guy realizes, a lot of this has been due to his fragile frame, his oneitis for the LTR and his nice guy syndrome.

Lets say that all of this leads to the ending of the LTR (as it normally happens). Whether she dumps him or he dumps her is irrelevant. However, the protagonist of our story has some grasp of reality and TheRedPill and is more self aware now. He has been told to lift, so he lifts (and maybe also practices another sport, a martial art or a fighting sport, maybe?), he has been told to focus on reading, and so he does. He also focuses harder on his job and college and also tries to go out and meet new potential plates. So far so good.

But...

But all of those improvement activities feel like building a dam, a thin, fragile dam with a lot of cracks in it. A dam that is built to hold a vast sea of pain, sorrow, misery, melancholy and frustration. Outside, our protagonist is doing everything by the book but on the inside, things aren't the same. He is still sick deep down inside. He still has the Oneitis.

It is understandable, however. The longer a LTR lasts, the harder it is to break out of it, even after it has been broken objectively. However, the question remains - how do you fight that? Even that guy is getting laid and has significant improvements in his life, there will still be those nights of sugary-memories of the past days. The bad will memories from the LTR will be conveniently buried or forgotten, but the pleasant ones, the ones that hurt would still linger on. There will still be times the guy sleeps and dreams of those past days and wakes up feeling like all the improvements he has made during the past months have been for nothing as those things are still inside of his mind.

In the end of the day...

After all, as much as men want sex and fun and to be careless, men are also the ones who are actually capable of developing truly deep affections for their partners. And you can keep your frame all that you want, but this will not heal the withered part of you that has been left scarred. So the question that remains is, does this scar and its recurring pain ever go away or is it something that we ought to endure until a lot of years have passed and the episodes of painful memories have become more scarce?

P.S. This isn't the story of one single man, I believe that a lot have gone through this same thing regardless of whether they have discovered TRP or not. A lot of guys have this lingering feeling left in them even after years have passed. Maybe they haven't truly embraced TheRedPill or maybe they haven't worked hard enough. Whatever the reason, this phenomena is rather common.
