I think they're subjective.... at a +1/-1 rate. Meaning someone who is seen as a 9 could be seen as an 8 or a 10 to different people at the end of the spectrum.

I feel like most people who go on the internet and say xxx isn't even hot are just lying to rationalize their poor dating prospects/self esteem.

Of course, personality, power, etc. do matter, but if you were to see pictures of people without knowing what kind of people they are, I doubt there would be much variation in ratings. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is just a landwhale ideal.

While it is true that money and resources can compensate --- the woman dating an ugly man for such things is making a tangible transaction. You dont see ugly men w/o some extraordinary fame or money dating pretty women... anyone with any social experience will know this to be true.

how masculine is your frame .... and by frame I mean bone structure, steroids and lifting can help a guy add muscle but nothing will make bones wider and proportions better ie wide shoulder bones. I'll put height in here as well.

Of course looks are objective. I can tell at least two reasons why the waters are murky:

women hamster their socks off when it comes to why they like a guy they're with. "my little cuddly bear" looks nothing like brad pitt, but this has absolutely zero consequence if you're a "cuddly bear" type and want women to find you attractive. When it comes to first meeting tingles, they have similar tastes.

I thought you were going to argue women's look were, which still isn't 100% true, but you're arguing men's looks, which are even weirder.

There are definitely objectively bad looks for men, and I don't think that's really debatable but beyond that there are objectively different standards. Thin, strong, and a bit of chub over an otherwise excellent build are all held as the gold standard by women from different backgrounds.

For rich "classy" people a slightly tan endurance athlete build(which is thin) would generally be considered best. Women who like their men a bit more on the physical protector side tend to prefer strong builds. They're bulky. Technically, according to the BMI bullshit, they're overweight, or even obese. Women who are into comfort, and dislike try-hards tend to prefer guys who are chubbier, but who look like they'd have a superb A or B build if SHTF.

Basically, if you're not completely fucked genetically with something like a pear shaped build on a man you can probably achieve reasonably high SMV with regard to your appearance to a class of desirable women. Personally I like the feel of being B with a hint of C.

What you're missing is that those objectively good looking men have loads of confidence -- and that for the most part, it's the confidence the girls are attracted to.

Have you never seen an ugly man with a beautiful woman? It's fairly common, actually. And whenever people see it they generally joke that he must have a big dick, or a fat wallet.

But the reality is that women are attracted to different things than we are. Sure, looks is part of it -- but it's a very small part of it.

If you make you the best you that could possibly exist -- your confidence will attract even better than good looks.

I feel that the need for us to have this discussion is redundant. Tastes ARE different...people thought Mona lisa was beautiful at one point; have you seen that bitch?At the same time,there are natural features women will innately find attractive. I won't repeat them,as they have been covered already.

People have a taste in the opposite based on social values as well. I.e some girls like skinny men..some woman want a husky guy.. Some woman only like bald men.

I used to only like white women. That changed completely and now tits arent even that important theyre just an add on. It sounds silly but how someone is raised or how they view things can change the game.

There are studies that show guys who drive expensive cars appear more attractive.

But yea, having big muscle, chiseled abs, and a nice jaw line do help in certain brackets(bars and clubs) , they are less useful in others.

My best friend is tall (6'3), but he's objectively a pretty ugly motherfucker. He gets far more than his fair share of decent pussy (i.e. 7's and even occasional 8's) because he's so absurdly delusional and outgoing that it doesn't matter. I have personally seen him pick up cute girls in bars and heard them fooling around at least 50 times. If he was a loser he'd be fucking 3's and 4's. If he was even moderately attractive he'd be fucking 8's regularly.

Good looks mean a lot less to women than they do to men. Women want confident, assertive men who will be able to protect and provide for them and their children. Attractiveness, especially physical fitness is part of what they are looking for because being physically fit you will be better able to protect and provide. Apart from confidence and assertiveness, women want successful, powerful men. Confidence, assertiveness, power, success, and fitness are all things you can change with your actions. Men look for good health, especially reproductive health, which is why symmetry and a good body weight and shape are important to us. Women can't change that much. Guys are lucky really, we have more ability to change things about ourselves to make us more attractive to women than women do to make themselves more attractive to men.

To an extent. However there is no permanent standard. If there were then all women would flock towards one skin color/ hair color/ eye color etc. In general however, women prefer tall, muscular, confident men with good posture. I've met women that have explicitly said that they are not attracted to the Brad Pitt types.

I Know plenty of guys that like Selma Hayek and other famous women that I wouldn't really go for, I recognized she is "Pretty" but she's not the kind I go for; therefore lucks are subjective. I would not give her more than a second look but give me a flat, petite, pale white girl with blue eyes and big pink lips and I'd be hard pressed not to stare in amazement even if most guys just pass her by.

Looks are subjective but we share things, fit/healthy body capable of work or childbearing, symmetry in facial features, some things can be excused like beauty marks and in men crooked noses from breaking them, straight white teeth, all our appendages, desired height is typical but there are outliers. I like small breasts and short pale women most guys seem to like big breast on tan taller women I'm not weird It's just personal taste I'm still into big hips and a big butt though.

It's about 70% objective the rest is for variation and personal taste.
