Excellent attitude to hold. Every day of the relationship is its own value and should be worth it in and of itself. When you rent a car, it's not sunk value or time lost when you return the vehicle. This makes sense as the one who needs the relationship least has the most power and it sounds like that's you.

It's also disappointing that this is what's required to manage a relationship with a woman nowadays. I'm not knocking your technique, it works. More so that this is the construct required to keep her resource-seeking uterus from questioning the LTR.

My Catholic ideals for marriage and family are gonna show here a bit, but the fact that women just don't have the capacity to be selfless in LTRs anymore is tragic. This is why many of us don't get married, become fathers, etc. and why birth rates in Western countries continue to decline. That said, I still have trouble understanding why women can be so immature about something so serious and am still grappling with their teenage mindset.

Some poker players use the same 'tactic' when playing an opponent who has more experience, more stamina and is more apt at the game. The get their cards, they don't look at them go all in and be mentally ready to walk away and then wait for the results. It scares the shit out of everybody.
