I read your earlier comment about meeting your women, but I wasn't expecting the follow-up to be so soon. Thanks for taking the time to write it out--quite useful.

[–]JojoRogers[S] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No problem. Was happy to post it since a few had asked. Now not so much now since my poor memory of details from 10 years back seems to have doomed me to not be believed.

But it is what it is. If you liked it I'm glad.

See how simple it sounds when he says it? Banging two girls, flirting with others, telling his wife she won't touch the money unless he gives it to her, all things that lesser men would be torn apart for. That, guys, is what you call alpha. A guy that just does what he thinks is best, while everybody else follows without even thinking about it.

Nice article man, I liked it.

[–]JojoRogers[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

To be fair about the money thing. It wasn't that I "put her on an allowance" as much as I didn't trust her to balance a checkbook. Because she couldn't. Back then there was no Internet or even really text banking. And she tried to do her checkbook with constant calls to the bank to see how much she had. This inevitabley blew up in her face a few times.

I "handle" the money in that I pay the bills, I plan for things and manage savings. A few years after marriage she started using a debit card and until we started online banking she was always scrupulous at giving me receipts to keep our checkbook correct. Nowadays it's much more laid back. usually she just checks with me before she makes any large purchase to make sure it will not mess anything up (most of our bills are auto draft these days).

Sorry I'm late to the party.

As the guy who originally needled you for this, I want to thank you for writing all of this down. I see a lot of food for thought, and confirmation of some things I've suspected for a while.

[–]Rooibosisboss 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

nice post...but are you 42 or 43?

[–]ChauvOtoo 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Meh, I always forget if I am 35 or 36... shit just blends together after 25 or so.

[–]3trplurker 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I can tell lots of the posters here are young because of this. Once your hit 30 or so, you kinda stop caring about your own age. It's become a meaningless number. Hell there are times I have to stop and think if I'm 30, 31 or 32, especially if I'm dealing with the lunar calendar.

[–]TRP VanguardCyralea 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm 33 soon and I still recall my big 30th being just a few months ago.

[–]JojoRogers[S] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amen to that. I find myself having more trouble remember WHEN things happened that i do remembering them. I find myself saying things like "Did we know X yet back when D and C were a couple?" a LOT.

[–]1pluvoaz 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hell, I've been 29 for well over a decade.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

The timeline is wrong as well. For instance Kay's previous husband is interested in playing a game that didn't exist while they were together.

All in all my bullshit sense is tingling.

[–]ChauvOtoo 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

That could be true, don't really know too much about the release dates of games or anything.

It's the internet, so i read every story like I do a bible story... not sure if this really happened, but maybe there is a lesson there.

All internet stories are allegories, hence the phrase "pics or it didn't happen".

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I don't either as I never played wow. However the timeline seemed off as 10 years ago sounded like a very long time ago even for World of Warcraft. So I actually looked it up and low and behold it doesn't add up.

Mix that with getting his age wrong repeatably and just the other minor inconsistencies makes it sound like bullshit.

Granted he could be telling the truth but so far it really does sounds like bs.

[–]Glorious-G 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What? Wow was released in 2004, ten years ago

[–]JJTheJetPlane5657 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, both WoW and Counterstrike match up.. It's not like he said "Counterstrike: GO".

If you're not old enough to know when these games came out, maybe you shouldn't be commenting on them.

[–]Racefiend 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Maybe he meant warcraft?

[–]Senior Contributorexit_sandman 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope, not addictive enough.

[–]supitsLoki 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

WoW came out in late 2004, and CS came out in 2000, how does that not add up?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The fact that they started the threesome thing 10 years ago that was years after they got divorce. Part of the reason they got divorced is because he was playing WoW.

So 10+ some years = more than 10 years.

[–]supitsLoki 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If he's 43 now, and they got married at 28, that makes it 1999, they met Kay a few (usually between 2-4, so let's call it 3) years later, we're at 2002. Her husband was starting the Marines then, so considering WoW came out in 2004, that gives him 2 years of training and everything before he came back in order for this timeline to be accurate.

Also it was listed as one of the games, and they had a kid, so it's probably safe to assume the gaming was an ongoing thing for a couple (2 for simplicity) years, which even with him just spending a year doing military stuff gives him until a year after WoW came out to be playing it.

And CS came out in 2000, so plenty of time to play that and transition.

Question it all you want, but the timeline checks out.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

They started their threesome thing 10 years ago.

That was years after they got the divorce. So no it doesn't check out they guy deleted the post now so yeah.

[–]JojoRogers[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

43 as of March. 42 is a hard habbit to break typing though. Like wise i won't have been married for 15 full years until next month in June, but I have already gotten into the habbit of saying 15.

[–]3Ill_mumble_that 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Stories like this is why I feel Game is a sham. Be a man's man for the sake of your own value of yourself. When doing so, the women will come come as a side effect.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 26 points27 points28 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot of what is called "game" is really just "acting the way naturally dominant men do."

The purpose of "practicing game" is to repeat these behaviours until they become second nature. With positive feedback (success with women), natural masculinity tends to take over, and a healthy masculine lifestyle can follow.

[–]frequentlywrong 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is about as useful of an idea as "be yourself".

[–]TrapLifestyle 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Game is ridiculous and doesn't even exist in my book. Being honest to myself and others and having the most fun has earned me a great deal of respect among friends and girls that I meet.

[–]cocainesmoothie 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Honest question here. How do you flirt with other women if they know you're a married man. You can't do things like kino and generally speaking if you imply sexual innuendo won't they be like 'this guy is creepy'?

[–]itsmsbetty 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No.. usually if another women knows you're taken, she's even more attracted to you

[–]cocainesmoothie 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I understand preselection. I'm talking about in the context of a party where people would generally be mindful of appearances to keep up.

[–]libchh 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

there's one thing to be charming and witty, and another one to be very direct. If you go up to a broad and say "I want to suck on your face", you'll just reap the consequences (probably works wonders in a nightclub)

You can be a charming individual without going below the waist, tho

[–]JojoRogers[S] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm rarely flirting with any purpose to "close the deal" it's just for fun. Strangers I tend to just go with innuendo and double entedre stuff. She says something about being teased I'll respond with "oh don't you like to be teased?". Nothing major just having fun. Female friends I'll go farther because they know it's for fun and they will flirt back the same way.

[–]JojoRogers[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To avoid the creepy factor I do make sure I never flirt with anyone working (no waitresses for example). Also I have tended to avoid it with younger women as I have gotten older. 30 year old flirting with a 20 year old is ok. 40+ doing it tends to go into the creepy side of things for most.

[+]watersign -7 points-6 points-5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yeah, your wife is fucking some other dude man.

[–]TRP VanguardCyralea 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unlikely. A woman that's with a man she sees as much higher value than herself doesn't have much incentive to cheat.

No. I have a few friends who smoke weed to this day. But they know to never bring it to my house. Personally I think it should be legalized.

But at the time she was on probation for 6 months for some stuff she did before I met her. She also worked somewhere that did random drug tests. She was really just starting to get her life together after hitting rock bottom. I didn't want to see her mess that up.

Plus I was NOT going to get pulled into an issue of her trying to keep weed or anything at my house. I had just got my life back together and i was not risking it being messed up getting arrested for possession because of her.

No problem. I just wanted to explain. I've never done an illegal drug myself (except underage drinking). I was always leary of being arrested like a couple of friends were in my teens. But I'm not against them. Weed especially should be legal IMO. After that...... I'm more wishy washy on other drugs. I'd say MDA could be legal, maybe some of the hallucinogens as well.

I'm 42. I come from a broken home,

At 43 I can't say I'm in the shape I used to be.

Can't remember your age?

Anyway this is way longer than I expected, and honestly seems to braggy or fake as I read it through. But it's my life.

Didn't even pick up on your wrong age even after reading through. So yes you are right that it does seem braggy and fake. Plus you make the mistake several times in your comments history as well.

As a 42 year old guy married 15 years with a group of friends that go back 20 years (or more)

As a 43 year old I find I'm having the best sex of my life with a 40 and 42 year old right now.

Even after her husband returned he never wanted to do anything but play World of Warcraft and Counterstrike. People even joked she was my 2nd wife. Kay and I had always flirted pretty heavily because I do that with most women. Made sure the wife was ok with that way back when we were dating. I thought nothing of it.

Married to the wife for 15 years now and we have been in the current situation with Kay for 10 years now.

World of warcraft is 10 years old. Strange that the guy in Kay's marriage was more interested in playing a game that wasn't even released yet. Since according to your timeline this happened years after they were divorced.

So your timeline is all over the place :D

Perhaps you should pay a bit more attention to detail next time you decide to write some fiction.

[–]JojoRogers[S] 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Shit like this is why I almost didn't write this. My birthday was a few weeks ago. Sorry I still type 42 instead of 43 at times.

Sorry I also didn't bother to have the right game a guy I barely even knew 10 years ago played. It was a something fantasy and MMO related I mistakenly assumed it was WoW because really that's the only one I know the name of. I don't play MMOs at all.

What because I called out someone with their bullshit?

There are too many inconsistencies for me to seriously take the story as truth.

Cool story bro
