As long as the woman isn't a land whale, isn't lazy and you can have an intelligent conversation with her, those are the most important things.

If you utilize TRP properly, you don't need to settle for a 6. Besides, you may think she's "faithful and loving" now, but they all are hypergamy timebombs waiting to explode. Since you have so many doubts about her, you should reconsider, getting the best woman possible. Or...marry this girl and see where it gets you. There is such a thing as divorce. But don't have a kid until you're sure, because that'll be the shackle that binds.

Allright. With those things in mind- fuck what anyone has to say. If you want to marry the girl, do it. Just know a few things. Some women age gracefully. I know a fair amount of girls that were considered 6-7 in high school who are now 7-8 because they keep in shape, aged decently, and learned how to highlight their positives. Maybe they shed a few pounds and started dressing even better. Or whatever. It happens.

Marriage is about a lot of things. Commitment, companionship, SEX (hah), kids, shared experiences etc.

Most of your friends will not have sexier wives unless you become rich and live in LA. So who cares.

All i would say is take some time. Figure out yourself even more. Gain confidence that you know who you are. Don't make any stupid financial decisions (I love her lets buy a house together!!).

And who knows what will happen 10 years from now. You may get married, love it, and then you and her both change, things happen, and meh you divorce.Saying "I don't think we will divorce" is bullshit. Who knows.

You might just end up being that sweet old couple rocking on their front porch in 60 years after a long life of happiness.

Is your girl slim because she works out a lot (i.e. great body), or slim because she is naturally slim?

If its the latter, her metabolism will slow down in the next decade and you may end up with a meat-bomb on your hands

Blue87g: if you marry, or even if you just live together, you are inviting the government into your relationship. You do realise this, do you? And the gummint and its agencies will normally take your wife's side in any dispute which she tells them about.

If it all goes to hell, the so-called "family courts" will be dead against you. She will almost certainly get the house, custody of the children, and a big chunk of your income for years and years ahead. You may find this upsetting as you sit in a cheap rented apartment and wait for Sunday to come around so you can see your children.

Beats me why any man would even consider marrying. The risks are far too high.

If you must enter an institution with a 50 per cent failure rate, then at least wait another 10 or 20 years. 40 is a better age for a man to marry than 25, and by then you will have been witness to the catastrophic divorces of various friends, co-workers and other contemporaries, which may guide you towards the conclusion that -- to repeat myself -- it ain't worth the risk.

Heh. Okay just so you know, I was in exactly the same position as you. I decided that I would get married to a girl who is probably a five. Because I was thinking it's all about personality, right? And that special connection, and looks aren't that important... Blah blah blah.

The fact is if you make long-term plans around this girl, she will view herself as being much more attractive than she is, and she will act accordingly. So you are going to have to deal with the same sort of shit tests and frame holding challenges as you would with a hot girl.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do this. Maybe your personalities mesh in a really great way. I'm just saying that you are still going to have the same types of challenges as you would with a hottie. Maybe not quite as extreme, but you always have to be on your guard. She is not going to notice the amazing sacrifice you made by dating somebody who is not that beautiful. As long as you're there with her, she will start to think that she deserves it.

Recently subscribed, but an "elder" in life and relationships. Some things are more important than having a sexy looking wife. Like, having a wife that is faithful and loving (as you mentioned) and is a giver by nature. I married a very attractive woman, but we didn't match well in terms of money management or libido. Her attractiveness to others turned out to be a lot less important than personal chemistry and values. Most of us aren't 8s or 9s, but want 8 or better women. If a girl is attractive to you, and you have personal and sexual chemistry, and is a giver, that is what matters in the long term. Best of luck to you.

i'm not an elder but i think it's pretty smart if a stable relationship is what you're after.

some guys will call this a pussy beta attitude and think the chick they marry should be the hottest chick they can possibly get.

at some point the healthy attitude of self-improvement and always wanting more turns into a mental illness.

marriage and/or kids and living together for a long time is a sledgehammer to your frame. if you marry a smokeshow you are potentially setting yourself up for constant attacks. it can easily run you into the ground or turn simply unmanageable.

this subreddit has a lot of good info and insightful members, but you really can't rely on it for a decision like this.
