Seems that over the weekend a number of users discovered some automoderator triggers and I wanted to clear it up here.

We try not to go into too much detail about our automoderator rules because we use them to battle the onslaught of nonsense trolls we get. We certainly don't want to make it easier for them to evade detection.

I'll post here what I posted elsewhere on the topic:

There's nothing nefarious happening here. We program automod with rules to either deal with specific trolls or waves of trolls.

We don't divulge what the is being looked for, because that makes our jobs harder, but usually the detection rules are only in place for a short period of time (until the trolls get tired).

If you felt like your post was removed in error, just send us a modmail message and we'll approve.

Rest assured our mod team is here to keep the signal high, not remove it. Sometimes we catch some false positives but we restore those posts as soon as we see them. We feel that it's better to let 0% of the riffraff through.
