Everyone has a gift.
For me, I knew from a very early age that my gift was Public Speaking.
Freshman Year of High School I got elected Class President even though I was an Asian dude in an all-white school solely based on my public speaking ability, even though I had weird social skills due to having Asperger’s. (Got voted out next year because I didn’t actually know how to make friends though lol)
Anyways, there were two periods of my life where I decided to further develop that talent by going to Toastmasters, a club specifically built for people trying to get better at public speaking.
My first Toastmasters Club was in Boston
I remember going in and getting destroyed by some of the other speakers on my first day. Turns out, natural talent doesn’t make up for years of experience. They were much smoother, and didn’t use filler words like um and uh.
But I quickly caught up, attending for about a year before becoming the best speaker there.
That was when I started to get attention from this cute Asian girl who worked as an actuary.
Every time after the meeting, she’d walk with me to our cars and we’d talk about life. She was a gamer like me. And we liked the same TV shows. When you’re a nerd and you find a girl who you can talk to about the League of Legends Worlds Tournament, you know you found a keeper lol
I thought for sure she was gonna be my girlfriend eventually.
But that didn’t happen because eventually things fizzled out because I took too long to ask her out and escalate.
I tried to re-initiate after Toastmasters but I could tell that the spark was gone, every conversation was cold compared to before. There was no longer any attraction. Eventually, I found out that she met another dude online somewhere.
“Damn, that could have been me if I wasn’t such a pussy” I thought to myself.
I even tried following her on Instagram and occasionally texting her like a loser to follow up.
Needless to say, this didn’t go anywhere…
My second Toastmasters Club was in New York
Fast forward one and half years later, after I had just moved to New York and had a lot more dating experience under my belt.
I joined another Toastmasters club there and this time, quickly established myself as one of the top speakers.
This club met at 12 PM Noon every day so there were a ton of older gentlemen and ladies who were already retired.
I was one of the only younger dudes there since I was in Real Estate at the time so I had a flexible schedule.
There were 2 hot younger girls there who also attended. One was white, the other was black.
I couldn’t really connect with the black girl at all, but the white girl was a different story. She was 5’2” and cute as fuck, with a bubble butt that I like.
And we connected over Serial Killers, of all things. She was the only girl I’ve met to this day that was weird enough to actually read up on all the crazy stuff about Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer, not to mention the lesser known dudes like Bittaker and Norris.
This time, I did NOT make the same mistake as last time.
I did not hesitate. And I struck while the iron was hot.
Invited her out for drinks after our first conversation about serial killers after one of my speeches.
Went out for drinks with her at a place right next to my apartment. Intense eye contact throughout the date followed by a kiss where we made out like teenagers.
There was some last minute resistance about it being too late and her having an early day at work the next morning but I persisted and told her it would only be to cook some steaks since we’re both hungry and I’d kick her out immediately afterwards.
Fucked the shit out of the phat ass while spanking it from behind while she moaned into a pillow.
Lessons Learned
I learned two extremely valuable lessons throughout the years.
1) Strike While The Iron Is Hot
First is that with modern dating, SPEED is king.
As a man, you absolutely must strike while the iron is hot. Gone are the days where you do 3 dates and have sex on the 3rd date.
And if you’re a younger dude and you meet a girl in College or your social circle that you feel a connection with, ask her out as soon as possible.
The attraction 100% has an expiration date and will expire sooner than you think if you don’t take action.
Hesitation is the seed of defeat.
Akali was right (only my League homies will get that reference😉)
Strike while the iron is hot.
2) Follow Up is for Losers, All Persistence Should Be Upfront At The Moment Of The Close
The second lesson I learned is that Persistence in following up with women does NOT work.
Overall, persistence is a very good quality to have in Business and life. But if you try to apply the same logic to women and keep following up through text over and over again after a great first date where she’s reluctant to go on a second date with you, you’re wasting your time.
We’ve all been there.
Great first impression/first date. Cannot schedule a second date. Where do you go from there?
The answer is that the battle was already lost the moment you gave up and didn’t close her on the first date, assuming the vibe was sexual enough for that.
I’ve noticed that women REALLY hate it when you start making out with them or getting sexual and they throw out an excuse about having to meet a friend later or having an early day at work, and you actually stop escalating and don’t end up having sex.
THEY ABSOLUTELY HATE IT. And they will 9/10 times never go out with you again because essentially, they expected you to overcome her bullshit objections so you two can actually have sex but you were too much of a pussy to do so. Therefore, you lost all attraction she had for you.
What you should do instead is if the vibe is already sexual, persist until the very end even when she throws objections during the close.
That’s the right time to be persistent. If you miss this window, you can never recover it by following up later and trying to schedule another date.
Because when it comes to modern dating…
Hesitation is the seed of defeat.
Strike while the iron is hot.
P.S. If you’re thinking about joining Toastmasters today, don’t do it. Sadly, it’s been butchered by incompetent international management. Not worth getting into anymore. Their best days are behind them.
