This is all fine and dandy, but their sample size is attrocious. 46 gays, lesbians and bisexuals. That means that they got a handfull of each (13-14) and 41 heterosexuals. I know the narrative supports RP, blah blah, but this sounds to me like junk science that should not have been published without at leas 4-5 times the sample size. Especialy for something as subjecitve as "stressed out" and "anxious". If they did blood tests and measured stress hormone i'd be game, but this doesn't prove anything one way or another.

Also, no mention or controlling for age, race, geographic location. This science article is junk, and the news article about the science article reeks of sensationalizm.

Gay men have a way easier time getting laid. They don't have to worry about pregnancy, and they're also men, so they're horny and want to fuck. The only "brake" they have to deal with is venereal disease, which straight men also have to deal with. So naturally, they are less stressed in aggregate.

Even ignoring the fact that they don't have to deal with women, gays are accredited victims, and therefore life is cozy for them. We live in a world where being a minority is a good thing because everyone's trying to be politically correct.

I support gay marriage, I support the right for gay men to be equally as miserable as straight men, stuck with someone they don't want. I mean seriously if I was a gay man I would happy, I would look around and see all the married straight men living their lives of quiet desperation and think, wow good thing I don't have to deal with that. Overall I wouldn't even get married as a gay man, I mean what's the point? Children? I could just adopt or use surrogates by myself. Especially if I'm the richer gay man I'd be pretty much signing myself to get butt-fucked by the state.(And not in a good way)

This is the explanation from the study, which involved men and women:

The researchers suggested that the lower stress levels in out gays, lesbians and bisexuals could be a result of the therapeutic process that is involved in disclosing one's sexual orientation.

'Our within-group analyses suggest that full disclosure, at least among our Montréal-based sample, is a form of coping strategy that fosters mental health and physiological integrity,' the researchers wrote.

Closeted people - and straight men, for that matter - are less likely to experience an emotional catharsis similar to coming out.

The catharsis, researchers argued, may help progress emotional maturity and lead to greater happiness and self comfort.

How did you read that and think women are to blame?

Researchers found lower levels of cortisol and more symptoms of depression among straight men compared to out gay men, and among out gays, lesbians and bisexuals compared to closeted people.

This doesn't make sense. If straight men have less cortisol, that suggests that they're LESS stressed, doesn't it? Cortisol is, essentially, the marker of stress.

men can relate to, and make other men happy be it talking, joking, or hanging out. a man that is dating another man is gonna make that man even more happy because they are more emotionally attached and they are sexually attracted to eachother. a woman can literally never have the same kind of relationship with a man as another man can.
