Thanks OP. Been lurking here for a while (this is my first comment ever) and thinking the same thing. Of course, I'm twice the age of most of you cats posting, so my perspective is considerably different. Alot of you young cats seem like you had no male figure around to give you advice on being a man, much less how to deal with or get a woman. I'm not throwing rocks at anyone, just stating an observation. I was lucky enough to have my old man (Vietman vet) and my grandpa (WW2 AA gunner, USS Reno) who were hardass, take no shit men. They both had a way of saying things so succinctly that you would sit in amazment how simple the truth was and how it was in front of your face the whole time. Maybe someday I'll make a post of their advice one-liners.

I think some RPers, and I have been of them in my early stages (I do not blame anybody), who are not Alphas but simply Alpha emulations. They engage their social encounters with girls with everything that TRP teaches them and think they are Alphas and shit when in fact they obsess with women and everything they do is aimed at getting women. They take on the clothes of an Alpha while being a Beta inside ( in the sense that they make women their priority).

"Fake it til you make it" is better than nothing, but not much better. Many men never realize the "fake it" is not the cause and "make it" is not the effect. It is not a logical progression to go from faking it to making it. It is really more of a transition period for you to gain actual value, which in turn is the root of self worth.

I was able to get my LTR by being an Alpha Monkey. I literally referred to myself as a "dancing monkey". It worked to get her but it didn't take long for the real me to leak out and show her I was just a little child in side that would put up with any bullshit she spit out.

If you feel like you're facing "alpha-ness" here is a is simple test. In any particular moment, when you're feeling superior to everyone else because of your pumped up ego, walk into an environment with a jacked, mean looking dominating dude and see if your frame stands. Make eye contact with this dude and don't break until he does. Walk over and say hi to him all the while maintaining your "alpha" Frame. Next, look at the woman by his side. Scan her up and down and stare at her lady parts for far too long. Then, confidently walk away, all the while maintaining your smug superior "alpha" attitude. If you can do that with impunity, you're probably the real deal. If you cave the moment you make eye contact with the big fucker, you're a faker. This is why getting yourself solidified in your masculinity and developing frame is so fucking important before attempting to convince others of it through game. It's ok to not be the biggest and baddest alpha in the room, that is the natural way of things and will come in time. What isn't ok is pretending to be something you're not. This is just off. Here's what you got right: You're not an alpha without beta support. If you have to do prove your place in the hierarchy (besides against the occasional challenger) because onlookers don't know, you're not it. Your alpha status is always relative to your group - of course you don't need to prove it, all those other guys are there because you command power and/or resources.

Here's where you're off: you cannot be a lone Alpha. That status is derived from validation from a group of (mostly male) followers and friends who pedastalize you because you're awesome. Like if a gaggle of nerds decide to hit the gym for the first time since it's next door to their DnD gathering... they enter and see you, a jacked dude, who is friendly towards them. His relative alphaness would need no proof, and they would follow him around begging for more lifting advice. (Elaborate example).

You can't act like you're the prize and expect to be treated like it. You actually need to be likeable and have followers. An actual alpha isn't an asshole, he's awesome. He's only an asshole because he doesn't commit.

That said, alphaness is way overhyped. It's a lot of work having retards follow you around who can't make a decision to save their lives. It's a false equivocation of "Being the Alpha" with 'having alpha traits'. Being the Alpha is attractive of course. But having Alpha traits is more important - not being needy, being confident, maintaining frame. To do this in the face of a true Alpha would be death or severe injury, if only from his followers.

If you care about this shit, your goal should be to have a tight-knit group of friends who roam together, who defer to your leadership and excellence, and who impose their will on alll that they see. If you're alone, you're a beta creeper who's trying to seduce a girl quietly, and rejection will always sting - but maybe you think that numbing yourself to it through repeated exposure is alpha. Maybe you think that "abundance mentality" is equivocated with forcing yourself not to feel sadness when a beautiful girl fucks someone else. But now you're just an emotionally-damaged beta. And hey you can call it a strong independent sigma male if you like.

But the point is that even though the Alpha gets 10x the sex anyone below him does, and women are willing to share an Alpha (the 1%), they're also willing to settle for a beta with alpha traits who isn't a little bitch. Which is the next 20%.

Long story short - abundance mentality comes from abundance, not from mentality. Alpha and Beta are statuses, not identities, and status is derived RELATIVE to other human beings. There are no lone-wolf alphas. Women will fuck men on a wide spectrum, you can play to your strengths while improving yourself without obsessing over status. But if you do obsess, base your path on reality, which I guess we're all trying to decipher here on TRP. and if we're really concerned with the Greek alphabet of statuses, consider that beta is higher than the rest of the alphabet, and there is only 1 alpha who is only banging a handful of chicks at any given time.

Half of this is semantics, but our reality and perceptions are based on language easily by more than half.

There's a lot of truth to the phrase "fake it 'til you make it." Some people just have to pretend to be alpha before they can be. Once they internalize the IDGAF, dominant attitude they can refine their RP knowledge.

That being said, I do agree with you. However, some people also have to learn the hard way as you did.

I am by no means claiming to be some alpha stud, but this shit reads "alpha-shaming" with capital letters. Natural betas are all alpha-simulators, and what the fuck is wrong with that? Aren't we all striving to be the best here? What's the problem with a little pretending?
