There is quite a bit of information out there about the physiological effects of testosterone, so I won't rehash them all here but will note some important behavioral and emotional effects that are not common knowledge.

As boys hit pre-teen years (around 10 but varies by race and geography) their bodies start making increasing amounts of testosterone. This amount is insufficient to bring on physiological changes such as voice change, which occurs much later but it is sufficient to precipitate emotional and behavioral changes.

If some of you guys remember your childhood days and what was going on in your head, you may remember the feelings of confusion, need for group acceptance, inability to focus on any topic for sustained duration, etc.

One of the first things that happen to pre-teen boys is that their head will clear.

This moment of clarity defines a transition point where a boy changes from emotion-driven to goal-driven state. The boy stops asking for things and crying when he does not get it. Instead, he tries to figure out how he can get it, plan and execute.

Occasionally, he will still regress to the emotion-driven state but as time passes, he will completely turn goal-driven.

The transition to goal-driven is sudden and sharp for natural alphas because their testosterone has ramped up faster. Such boys for the first time display male characteristics such as stoicness in the face of wonderful and terrible outcomes, discipline and sustained effort in their goals (sports/academics/hobbies/etc). He will also show an appetite for risk and tolerance to loss.

The transition is a bit slower for natural betas, who can remain unfocused and emotional for much longer and sometimes into adulthood.

Testosterone also impacts IQ positively. Higher testosterone levels correlate with higher IQ. If a boy's intelligence suddenly jumps a few points around age 10, there is a good chance he will be a natural alpha.

Testosterone also makes the boy just feel good about being himself, without the need for external reasons to make him happy. He becomes self-sufficient emotionally. Naturally, this assumes the boy's circumstances are not terrible, ie. not abused at home, bullied at school, etc.

Note that all these benefits also occur in girls, but a bit later. Once they have enough estrogen for her body to convert into small amounts of testosterone, she gains a fraction of the benefits that the boy. Physiologically, women experience small amounts of testosterone specific changes, i.e. much smaller drop in vocal pitch, modest increase in body hair, etc.

Therefore, remember how the goal-driven boy feels naturally and just be him. Remember how the boy felt when he was emotion-driven and realize that's how women feel all the time.

Women are attracted to testosterone characteristics and repelled by those that aren't. If you have learnt the proper way to behave was against your nature, its time to unlearn it.

EDIT: I'm amused by the strongly worded protests here. Dudes, when someone expresses something you do not agree with, learn to hold your composure and ask for citations or provide your own rebutting citations. That sort of anger is harmful to your social (and sexual) health.

Now chill with a glass of wine and read my citations. There are many more, you should have at least bothered to search before writing your angry protests.
