If you want any advice, here's mine: at some point in your "recovery" you will for sure want to confide about your struggle to someone, and your first choice at the time will certainly be a woman who seems really wonderful to you... Since she's the only one who seems like she really understands you...

The advice is, don't fucking do it. The key word is "seems". Women are all about delicious seemings. Sometimes we gotta simply force ourselves to accept their flighty, illusory, butterfly-like nature, in order to prevent ourselves from forming false and cult-like expectations about women that weigh them down with impossible demands. Those false expectations really hurt them, too.

Force yourself to skip that humiliating trainwreck path of confiding to a wonderful woman and revealing your weak underbelly; instead only confide to a good male buddy (who's probably about as wonderful as a gnarly fire log hit by the ugly stick a few times) or a male therapist you pay yourself to help you unravel your shit sometimes. That's how it's done if you want it done right, and there's no need to be desperate holding it all in. The women are not here to rescue you, that is not their job. Their job is to please you.

You are me. Only you had it worse. I've been in here dogging on religion a little bit and getting downvoted for suggesting it might have negative implications. Like anything it can be good in small amounts, but taken to the extreme it's damaging.

I'm glad you made it out. I'm 25 and just starting to make progress as well. Got into a stupid 2 year ltr due to inexperience. Now I'm out and currently on vacation to Europe. Life is good. Estonian women are beautiful. And the majority of them are atheist.

Holy shit doode...........I spent my teenage years in pakistan and there is atleast somewhat segregation of the sexes to a certain degree. However ive been to some areas during the time when the taliban had control of power in some locations. It wasnt nearly as bad as what you just described! :/

Congratulations bro. I was raised in a cult-like church as well. My corn-fed family has a lot of boners for their church. They talk of pastors like they're celebrities. When we left our church, the pastor talked bad about us and pretty much ex-communicated us. Lots of our "friends" stopped talking to us. I remember once the pastor was openly shaming a man's behavior about something and that man got up from the pews and stormed out of the church. But then was brought back by two of the ushers by his arms like a criminal. No forced weddings by 18 though. There was all kinds of manipulation. The pastor would purposefully instruct both of my parents different things to cause them to fight so that they would continue to seek counseling. When we visited (we visited family) once after a year of being in another state, the pastor made an announcement of our return and everyone clapped for us like we were the first that had sailed around the world. I was also homeschooled. We have a very "I'm on the outside looking in" persona. We don't feel like we belong. In a way we don't. We will always be the outsider. We were raised in very different conditions. But we all share the same humanity.

I too have realized how much of a cuck conservative Christianity is to men. The women seem to be just as worse off as they are anywhere else. Women spread their legs and that's that. The men walk away with discipline. As a con to that discipline is that I'm not a sexually aggressive man. Never had been. But that's what the product was. So I'm with you (early 20s), limited sexual experience and without the social tools to help me both in achieving personal power and sexual gratification.

If you ever need to reach out and share experiences I find it helps to occasionally "ground" into reality of what was and what we went through.

Yep, that. I didn't get married when 18, my experience came later. Porn was such an issue due to repression of urges. I used to feel guilty JUST for having automatic, uncontrollable attraction to women other than my wife. This would lead to what I refer to as "freak out porn sessions", which occurred after repressing things for so long.

Lost my wife to beta behavior, and life is getting better now. I know that no relationship of any sort with a woman (wether FWB, LTR, whatever) without my ass firmly in the captains chair is a relationship I'm going to continue.

It was a life filled with desperation, shame, guilt and remorse. I still have certain beliefs, and I don't beat myself up for finding women attractive (the insanity of feeling guilt at finding a woman attractive!).

At this point I am deciding what my moral stance is going to be (this is everyone's personal business and I won't go into it on TRP). I'm reminded that David had a harem and a shitload of wives, and yet he was a man after God's own heart.

Edit: I'll add that beta behavior was taught, encouraged, and alpha behavior was totally wrong. I used to have alpha outbursts. One of the reasons my wife gives for the divorce is that I was too controlling. I really wasn't, but women will not accept application of authority from their beta. If I had the red pill at the beginning of my marriage I wouldn't have allowed myself to go beta and we would be together today.

Start of marriage: Pulling off the highway and fucking in in the car and getting road head because she couldn't keep her hands off me (I actually reached the "dick is too sore to fuck right now point".

End of marriage: Starfish and grudging access to my wife and contempt from her.

Upcoming, probably soon, you're going to experience 3 things. These are all not to be done.

You will feel onitis for the first sexual contact you get. Do. Not. Commit.
You will believe a girl (or guy friend) is close enough to confide in. Do. Not.
You will experience social shaming similar to what you did in the cult, due to increasing success with women. Do. Not. Let. This. Push. You. Back.

You'll be fine op. I recommend forcing yourself to date multiple girls at a time to avoid the first two. It'll be so tempting. If you spin, you'll see whores for what they are. It'll prevent you from thinking this one's different. Ask about their past, express that you support the strong free sexual liberated woman. Let her tell you stories of how many bathrooms she's screamed in. It'll numb you to it.

I was hyper religious until I was 28 (a virgin as well). You could consider the churches I was a part of post college as cult like. While not as extreme as your situation, I had a lot of issues.

Namely that:

I was a Virgin
I had no success with women even though I was the "good Christian guy" that everyone wanted
was a spineless nice guy
overweight by 30 lbs
lacking any sense of self or boundaries.

When I found TRP at 26 years old, I was in anger phase like hell. I felt like all of my time as a religious person was a waste, and I could've spent that time investing in myself instead.

Long story short I'm playing the long game, and as I move forward and work toward self improvement, I'm seeing progress. I have a good stash saved, I've improved my physique, I've traveled the world, my n count is 10 after two years (though I live in South America for work and it's paradise for women down here as an American). All in all I'm moving forward. With that said I have moments where I feel like I'm a failure and I'm never gonna succeed - but I keep fighting to have perspective. My twenties were hard and sucked, but I'm finally hitting my stride.

Keep up the good work. It is a long process, and there will be times that you feel discouraged, but know it is a long game. That five or ten years of hard work will pay off even though you will have moments where you feel like you'll never be able to win.

Grats on taking your first steps in a new world that is not as bad as you might think but it is not without its perils, that is just life in general. I remember as a kid 30 years ago in one ear the fembot shaming I was a monster for being a man waiting for a victim and in the other at church my urges were natural but would lead me to serve the devil if I entertained them and anger god and all that hell fire brimstone and the guilt trip BS. Your story is not all that unique I have found. My unfaithful dad was not around since I was 5 so it served as confirmation men were naturally drawn to be evil like the jerks that banged my crushes in school too. Making a girl cry was sin as bad as taking the lords name in vain. By the time puberty went full swing I was terrified of women and hated myself for being a man. I did it all the friend-zone orbiting, white knighting, tried to be a SJW on a crusade. I thought I was doing everything right like they said but I always lost and eventually logic and misery broke the armor I hid my shame in. When I escaped to find my true self I found in my travels many of the people who were supposedly evil were more genuine and honest than the ones that were condemning them and I saw how the world really worked not by someones doctrine but my own eyes and ears. Buddhism helped me find peace a midst the grief but more as a philosophy than a religion. It still makes me angry when I hear people now 2 (going on 3) generations on lamenting the same troubles I had repeating the same lies that led us there.

Good luck man and remember to have faith in yourself to be your best self first or it is useless to another anyway be it woman or the master of the universe.

Born and forced Mormon for the first 18 years of my life. Immediately joined the marines. That was a mindfuck. It was like polar opposite ways of living. I've been through the same stuff as you, especially the guilt trap. Got caught jacking off once and had to confess my "sin" to the bishop and ask the dude in the clouds for forgiveness. Damn those churches are good at the guilt game to keep you in line. It's tough to go from cult to normal but it can be done. Everything you thought about life has to be reprogrammed. Get as much experience as you can, especially the forbidden stuff. I'm not gonna lie, it's a rough road. You seem to be moving in the right direction. Keep on keepin on. Anxiety is a bitch. Just remember all those pretty girls take nasty shits too. That sounds stupid, but it actually helped get rid of mine when I was younger haha. Good luck brother.

About 6mths ago I began to mentor a 17yo Moron kid from Bushville Ohio (I'm in australia) whom I met here on TRP, He seemed a bit lost and I had told him to pm me IF he wanted to change. He did and with a bit of advice and support, he's made huge changes.

He was almost as fucked up as you describe and was in a major anger phase as his oneitis had gone off with another guy.

He too was overweight and introverted, a home schooled kid who was about to do a "mission" (which I talked him right out of -- although it must've taken at least 10k words via pm to do so!)

I helped him establish an exercise regime and talked some sense into him about how FUBAR the LDS is, and now he considers himself 'agnostic', has lost 30lbs and has the girls all over him, he's stolen vodka from his folks and made it to "third base" with the two girls he's into!

I had to kick his cyber arse a few times and stop him procrastinating, but he just needed some honest support and feedback, Now he's cooking with gas and kicking goals left right and center!

He exercises daily. eats well (stopped All junk food etc) and as he began to see some results from his changed attitude and actions, chose to continue trying his best, with me there to keep him from falling back into his old ways.

6mths later and he recently got his licence, and while he looks for some work, he has been learning how to weld, which I think is a great thing for him as there's work waiting for him as soon (he's in an oilfield area which needs welders) as he's got some skills under his belt -- his 'ex oneitis's father is a jack of many trades and has been teaching him welding for 3 hrs every week and has called him "a natural" and that he's "never seen someone pick it up so fast"

That in itself speaks volumes about his progress, he sold his AR to pay for his licence (my idea, which he reluctantly followed and now is happy he did) Although at first I had to regularly remind him to "nike it" (just DO it) he's now seeing the value of continuing to DO it NOW (as tommorow never comes)

I spoke with him yesterday on the ph when he was saying how he looks back to 6mths ago and he wonders how he could've been so BBP (BetaBluePill) and feeling so hopeless.

Now, while he hasn't yet fucked the girl who was his oneitis, (a 'family/church' friend) he has now most certainly fucked around with her! She's now smothering him with IOI's and would fuck him in a heartbeat, although so would her father, but her dad would most likely kill him if he knew what's gone down recently between his daughter and this guy, which is the main reason he hasn't!

He's asked me to send him some condoms as it's not easy for him to get them locally without his folks finding out! lol (everyone within 80kms around is "in the church" and he'd quickly come unstuck if he bought any locally)

You sound like you're on the right track OP, if this kid can DO it so can you and we're here to help you whenever you need it.
