Summary: 20-year-old turns around his life (somewhat) using daily logs & tracking & measuring everything, may it help you, too.

Body: What up guys. A late Christmas present, and an early New Year's present I wanna give to The Red Pill.

NOTE: I'm 20, so this is geared towards younger Red Pillers (high school & college), but feel free to copy it as a separate file on Excel & edit it as you like (add different sheets, change sheet design, etc.).

I know a lot of y'all are gonna be making New Years' Resolutions, saying that "I wanna change my life," "I'm gonna start lifting every day & approach 10 chicks a day so I can spin 5 plates on the reg & have 10 other bitches riding my dick on Instagram by the end of this year," and so on. But the thing is, how many people really follow through? I think I have the solution, but only if you act on it.

It's often said that to solve a problem, first, you have to be aware of it.

That's why I made this: my daily log system for the year. It has:

  • Time log (should be the starting point for any life tracking you do, as it exposes how you use your time, and forces you to get better);

  • Diet log (macros only, but still);

  • Lifting log (#1 pillar of TRP);

  • Meditation log (for calmness & mindfulness, two things severely lacking in people nowadays)

  • Approach logs (because the main purpose of this subreddit is to get pussy)

  • Assertiveness log (I did this because I was too much of a Nice GuyTM);

  • Gratitude log (for positive thinking, something I struggle with);

  • Knowledge gained log (post one thing you learned today);

  • Habits log (for tracking how often you do bad habits, & how long you can go without them; used this to cure gaming & porn addictions);

  • Next day forecast (at the end of every day, type in how you think the next day is gonna go. It can be used for positive thinking, planning... etc.);

  • Sleep (if you're not getting enough sleep, obviously a huge problem); and

  • Studying (can be substituted with work if you work, basically a "productivity log")

To use this log, all you have to do is sit down for 30 minutes-1 hour at the end of each day, & write in each of the logs what you did. Or you can just update it as you go. But make sure every day, you're filling out these logs, and being COMPLETELY HONEST with the log; otherwise, it doesn't work.

I originally started using this log almost 2 years ago to help me break my bad habits & procrastination. Once that succeeded, I focused on other areas of my life, which led to the log being this comprehensive. Now, to be totally honest, there are some areas of my life I still have to fix (e.g. not getting laid, not really having a social life, not being totally jacked & ripped, not drinking enough water, not studying enough), but I'm a lot better off than I used to be. I went from skinnyfat to just skinny, from suicidally depressed to a man on a mission, from a 1.5 GPA in the Winter (January-April) 2016 semester to a 2.5 GPA this last semester (even getting A's in 2 classes) my diet is totally clean (except for weekly pizza nights with the fam), and I feel optimistic about my life for the first time in years. And hey, you do have to get rid of the negative stuff in order to start having positive stuff coming to you.

Now, don't expect to sit around and go from neckbeard to Dan Bilzerian. You actually have to put in the work. But tracking your work in these logs makes it a lot easier to set goals, & actually do the work (because you can't lie to yourself with these logs) that gets you there. Or using it can just help you clean up your life, if you need that.

Lessons Learned:

  • Using daily logs helped me see where I was going wrong/wasting time in my life, and fix most of my main problems at the time.

  • Use the logs honestly, that's the only way it'll help you: You can't cheat me, I don't see your lives off of this subreddit; you're only cheating yourself if you use the logs dishonestly.

  • I hope that it helps you guys as much as (if not more than) it has helped me so far.
