Summary: Does drug use jive with the mantra of TRP, or is it another ceiling that needs to be broken?

I'm not talking about boner pills here gents. Something a bit more sinister.

A very brief background:

I was a do-nothing slack job from 18-24. Daily weed smoker, bare minimum employee, poor, porn addicted and overweight. Around 25, a series of fortunate events vaulted me into a management position and I began my path to becoming a workaholic. I started my own business and started to do very well. About a year in is when I started using opiates after a dental surgery followed by a nasty bout of MRSA infections a month later.

Progression I found that taking opiates didn't make me dull or sleepy, but rather hyper-aggressive. I found myself on the offensive business-wise. Taking calculated risks came easily with little hesitation. Dealing with vendors or employees in a no-bullshit capacity became reflex. I was, and continue to be, a machine. Cold, calculated and with little patience for people's excuses or personal matters that slow me down. You're either running at 100% FOR me, or your ass is out the door. I compensate all my officers and even rank/file people very well. In my mind that means you compensate ME very well with your labor. I digress.

Current

I found when I stopped using, after the initial acute withdrawal symptoms (minor, was only taking 20mg daily) I sort of slipped back into complacency. I would spend half my week at home, going out to the movies, sleeping - not being the machine I needed to be. A few months ago, I started back again and I have returned. I feel that the views here may be conflicting on substance abuse in order to attain and maintain the right mindset for mastery of the universe. I am not looking for justification, because I don't need anyone's approval for how I operate my empire. However, I am interested in other people's perspective because assimilating new perspective makes for a better machine. I suppose to sum it all up in one question, "Does the end justify the means?"

Take care gents, you are all inspiration to me and I wish you great success.
