I think balding refers to the type who cling to their last few strands of hair. if you just shaved your head and embraced it, you're not one of them.

One has to wonder... in order for women to feel "pleasure," does she first have to feel "pain?" It's why God gave them hymens buddy

The conservative girls are probably just as frustrated all they meet are chads who just want a quick fuck. that's a bit of a blue pill dream there. i hope its true though

What people need to beware of is that when they fantasize about being raped. It's the whole package. All the attention that goes along with accusation afterwards, the feeling of destroying the guys life afterwards, etc.

Yeah, if you don't know how this ends, you haven't been paying attention. This is where I stopped reading. Ironic since the paragraph leading up to it barely makes any sense. A for effort though.

nothing about looks. if you are 22 years old talking about jazz, it's going to be a bit off (not saying you shouldn't do it. if you like jazz fuckin power to you but don't force it). it's like an 11 year old kid singing the blues. it just doesn't work

that doesn't mean that much sugar is good for you in the long run. This is false. It's good for you. Your brain needs sugar. Sugar from fruits is not the same as sugar from chocolate, candy, pop, etc. Only Atkins zombies believe this.

Eat what you like and just do the math. You might be assuming a baseline level of health consciousness for this to apply though. For some people, they are so far gone that they need a "diet" (I'm using that word to mean a nutritional plan, not some "get-slim-quick-plan") in order to wake them from their cheeseburger and pizza coma. Consider the guy who has eaten fast food or pizza for 285 out of the last 300 days in a row. His metabolism and dopamine receptors are totally fucked. When he eats 80…

That is the definition of rape, fuckwit. Also of basically nearly every crime. Very nice spin on it. You almost make it sound fair. This combined with your gentle eloquence suggest you must be a SJW. The problem is, girl's like to tease during the undressing stage, pretending they don't want it, and almost always give LMR before sex. If she later regrets it, she can just use the fact that she exhibited LMR as evidence that she was raped. For the guys that consistently interpret LMR as a lack of …

the frustrating reality is that they get the softest rejections of all, if they ever choose to approach. if the ugliest, nastiest, most awkward creepy girl came up to me and i rejected her (in any way shape or form), anyone else who saw (and probably even myself) would think, "aww... poor girl.... cute of her to try" if it were reversed, the creep shaming runs wild.

Grown ups mind their own fucking business, enjoy life, and generally bring positive company to those who they surround themselves with. This. If they're not doing this, they need to worry about themselves growing up, not you.

funny. I'm the same age and this post hit me hard (with encouragement and reminders to stay vigilant against the shamers) been in school my whole fucking god damned life. Finally I watched "Mad Men," ... Completely ridiculous and unbelievable exaggeration of "sexism" in the 60's. But people will believe it because its on TV. I felt the same way. The best part is I found an article where women put a different spin on it. Apparently it's such a sexist show because of internalized misogyny in the writers and viewers.

yeah, and i would elaborate on laziness: we all want a woman by our side, but we don't necessarily wanna spend 40% of our energy making sure we stay attractive enough to pull girls. the concept of marriage 1.0 (from the man's perspective) is so he can put that on the shelf and start focusing on other things in life

make posture your priority, before lifting even. see a physiotherapist if you need to. it takes a long time to change it so start right away forget about being short. put it out of your mind. thinking about it can only bring you down but not if you don't let it. live at home? make sure its for a reason. don't just move out "just for the sake of moving out". accomplish your goals. identify your short and long term ones and make sure you have a plan. social anxiety, i dunno much about that one. HOLY SHIT man To better explain to you why it’s so bad having female friends, we must discuss why most men have any female friends to begin with. Most common reasons why men have female friends is because, men are stuck in the friend zone and are secretly hoping to somehow sleep with these women by becoming their friends. Some men are gay therefore not attracted to women, and finally men believe and think that they are getting “somewhere” with these women when in reality these women are using th…

first of all, you shouldn't be in an LTR with a girl like this. she should be a plate, and a bottom plate at that. dont mate guard a plate. the key is to be willing to walk away and not look back when this happens

Nothing bad really happens when you approach and get rejected, but something good CAN happen when you approach. It's a 0 or a +1, (ALMOST) never a -1. (I don't want to discount all possibilities of a girl being a total bitch about it such that it causes real trouble for you, especially in a club situation, but it's unlikely.) Dude, it's sooooo true. Once I realized this, it started getting fun. I have a buddy who goes up to chicks non-stop and fails so bad it seems like he's just trolling us all…

yeah, you're right. i was treating her too much like a dude and just genuinely enjoying the discussion, but that should have been saved for in person when I could actually see her body language, how she was interpreting it, etc. so just to clarify, i should not initiate contact before she does at this point? should i be prepared to completely drop her over this if she doesn't contact me again? or should I at least give it a try at some point?

I'm not particularly smart, and my LSAT was not a great score. But most importantly, I'm not going to have a pissing contest with you. I suggest you start from the beginning and re-read the discussion and how it began with your correction of a statement I made that was not incorrect. My point was that I was not wrong to say assault and you are a fool if you do not see that. Shame on me for even replying to you this many times. Move on.

Being a generous and gracious host does not make you a pathetic person. If you let people walk all over you however, it does. Example: Letting them leave without doing the dishes is fine, but letting them walk all over your carpet with muddy boots because you're too meek to ask them not to is being pathetic. Have some fucking dignity. When I allow friends to stay over for more than a couple of nights, I expect them to pay for groceries, a night out and whatever else might come up, let alone do t…

it's not really a matter of wanting her back, she was never mine. but we still hook up occasionally, like i said in my reply to the other comment, she's basically insisting on remaining as a plate (when the part of me that is still BP wants to lock her down) and my dumbass self should just learn to see a good situation when it hits me. i get the best of both worlds right now and she doesn't want me to spend a penny on her

1) Not being nervous 2) Having a proper answer for every question without having to pause/think about it/... etc, exception for questions that do require thinking, like for example, a programming exercise Actually this is a myth. It doesn't mean you aren't competent just because you take a few seconds to digest the question and reflect on it for a few seconds. Interviewers who are worth their s…

And I wanted to make clear what assault is. Nope, you were trying to be a smart ass but you ended up the fool and now that it's clear my original statement that you tried to cleverly correct was not wrong in the first place, you just don't want to admit it. Nice try bro. I went to law school.
/r/TheRedPill09/04/16 11:22 PM
1

i dont smoke anything. its bad for my lungs. good luck framing a spitwad (which none of the witnesses will testify to since they were all on her side) as an attack when you're trying to justify why you assaulted (the 7 witnesses will all agree to say that you suckerpunched her right in the face) a poor defenseless woman in court, which is how she will act and be seen by a judge

/r/TheRedPill09/04/16 09:10 PM

while I did drop out. I did actually attend law school and received a thorough education in torte law. hitting someone is assault. period. if it's done in self defense, then that can make it excusable in the eyes of the law. it doens't make it any less of an assault. but it doesn't matter anyway. Im not arguing about right or wrong, i'm debating pragmatism here. slapping her was a terrible choice in this situation and the OP could have wound up in jail or curb stomped to death

/r/TheRedPill08/04/16 06:47 PM
3

if he had not reacted to the spitting then she would have pursued and escalated to fists/slaps yeah you can't possibly know that, but even if it's true, it is only THEN that physical retaliation would be defensible. the OP jumped the gun by a long shot and put himself in the wrong by striking first. this post is littered with comments full of stupidity don't let the anger phase put you in jail guys

slapping a woman in the face is not assault? yeah i just looked it up and it satisfies both definitions. but thanks for adding that in. but my point was that none of those witnesses would testify about the spitting, and whether spitting is battery or not im not sure, since the definition of battery requires "intent to harm", and spitting is harmless. spitting, however is tresspass on a person's body, which is not justification for physical retaliation in most places unless you can put a spin on …
/r/TheRedPill08/04/16 06:35 PM

Honestly slapping her was an ape response to a (admittedly disgusting but) harmless action. The fact that you didn't end up in jail for assault is a blessing. Be grateful you learned a cheap lesson. You can't win in these situations. Don't get me wrong. I feel for you, and she was obviously trash. But you fucked up big by slapping her. Your passport could have been used to identify you with 6 or 7 witnesses saying you suckerpunched her in the face.

just because you are discovering that TRP may not be all bullshit, that doesn't mean there are not a lot of users here that full of shit. choose carefully who you respond to or you will waste a lot of time lol. don't make the mistake of trying to engage an idiot reasonbly and thinking they'll reciprocate

it really helps if you have someone to take care of fucking paperwork and details that are holding you back. There's a reason women dominate the secretary field beyond just the fact that men would be ostracized for taking part in it. They are good at taking care of that shit! And it helps yo uso much! If you can get that out of your life partner. Then you have as close as youlll ever get to MArriage 1.0.

This is only a spurious connection, one borne of not examining concepts beyond the level at which they are offered. Agreed. I know a dude who got married young and his wife died early due to some tragedy for them. He already had kids and they're already grown up (he's 50). We've got a group of guys around 30 or so, and he hangs out with us, plays lots of pool drinks beer. I finally got comfortable one time to ask him if he wants to go find someone else one day. He laughed at me.

Response: Re-frame their question back to them "What are you asking?" I am making them actually ask the question they want to ask, not allowing them to be vague enough to have plausible deniability when their questioning turned aggressive. This times a thousand. idk. i find it smart. it's only dumb when they complain later that men were objectifyihg them. and honestly look at the pro female athletes and they are very skilled. its not like they can't play its just the men (the ones who compete professionally also) just are much more skilled on average. but they still deserve credit where its due. they are very athletic but for how light they are i never understood why women are slower than men at the pro sport level

We are the sum of our experiences, start failing NOW or regret it when you're old and dying. This is going to be added to my list of daily mantras. The significance of the point you make in your post cannot be over emphasized. Overcoming the fear of failure is what distinguishes between the winners and the losers. It is central to everything that is TRP. This is an epiphany that I just keep having over and over, no matter how many times it is explained here. I've been reading TRP for a year, and…

I just want to say that I'm glad to included the second half of your post. There are so many idiots on this forum that have yet to develop the social awareness to pick up on the small details that make all the difference in the worlds. If you change even one of the variables in your situation it could go from a great outcome to an absolute life-destroying disaster. Obviously nobody understands that better than you, but it's great that you clarified.

oh for sure. and there are exceptions for women as well. there are plenty of atrociously ugly girls that are given almost zero SMV at their life. they actually have it the worst of all because the things that men can do to improve their own SMV does not work as well for these poor women. they are probably the origins of feminism in some way even though they handled their problem incorrectly ( or maybe they handled it brilliantly actually idk)

If we made any mistake, it was ignoring our instincts. I feel like with most of the RP truths, deep down we knew all along they were true but just let ourselves be convinced otherwise. This is actually my biggest source of anger during the anger phase. It was directed at myself for being foolish. But you are correct. It's not really our fault that we swallowed the blue pill. I absolutely also acknowledge that you put naked dick in a woman, you are taking a gamble. But of course if she lied to you about being on the pill, then she's a scum of a human being and bears the overwhelming majority of the responsibility (in a theoretical sense, not in the sense of the law sadly). It really sucks the way things are. I gotta keep telling myself to enjoy the decline but sometimes it's just depressing.

But unfortunately women will always be able to use their offspring as leverage against a society that's trying to hold them accountable, because very few people are willing to support a policy that harms "the children". You can't force her to take responsibility for her choices without also hurting her kids by proxy. So politically, it's an untenable position. My proposed solution would be to just remove any concept of cash welfare whatsoever. I think people who can demonstrate that they do not …

That's why debating with these idiots is an error in judgement. It doesn't matter what happens, the facts are bended so that it's always the fault of men. Source: Google for "The war on women is real" by Gavin McInnes. But do so at your own risk, and on an empty stomach. You will probably puke before you get through the first 6 paragraphs.

My preferred solution would be to just remove any concept of cash welfare whatsoever. I think people who can demonstrate that they do not have the financial ability to acquire it on their own, should be provided with the essentials. Notice I said provided with the essentials, not cash to go order pizza from dominos. Do they need transportation? Give them a bus pass, not money to go buy a car. Do they need food? Have a place where they can select groceries from an approved list of stock, not cash…

First off, I love this analogy for the record. But the whole "she can get an abortion therefore it's not my problem in any case whatsoever" is actually one of the commonly held viewpoints of many TRPers that I just don't share. I do believe that once a fetus is conceived, it's not just between you and her and what's fair anymore. The offspring is now in the picture. If she lied to you about being on the pill, or popped a hole in your condom, then yes the pregnancy is 100% on her. But if you guys…

Rule number (18 I think?): Think as you like but behave like others. As for getting pissed off, there's a reason that the first stage of swallowing the pill is the anger phase. Don't fight it. Just channel it correctly, like venting in this subreddit, lifting, etc. Eventually it will fade, and the things that piss you off now will eventually just amuse you and make you smile. But yeah, NEVER call them out on their shit (unless you just want to watch them walk away, which if that's what you want …

Yea for example I knew for a long time that GLO gave personal advice over skype. But I always assumed he charged for it by the hour (and there would be nothing wrong with that). I only just recently found out he doesn't charge a fee. That is really fucking cool. People like Roosh, GLO, etc. do so much more than contribute. They actually put their own face on this product which is extremely risky to themselves but doesn't offer much likely personal benefit.

That is also why men become angry. First, because theyve been lied to, second, because they fell for the lies, and third, because what the truth says about ourselves is tough to take. Actually I would like to add that another source of anger (at least for me) was at myself. Because deep down I knew all along that many BP lies were lies, but somehow I just let myself be fooled for so long. but the women wont care because they all get to keep having as much sex as they want. the only difference is they will be having it with the top 15%, then the top 5%, then the top 2% of men, etc. it will never stop until every human being alive has the same father
/r/TheRedPill19/03/16 10:58 AM

its basically MGTOW on a local scale. it'll never happen though because as the percentage of men decline, the women will get hornier and then it will become an even more attractive place to men despite the danger
/r/TheRedPill19/03/16 10:44 AM

i've been thinking about this too and I don't think it will ever happen (though I really hope I'm wrong). google the article: "The war on women is real" written by Gavin Mcinnes I could only stomach the first half dozen paragraphs before I had to go throw up but it basically takes every problem caused by feminism and comes up with a way to blame it on conservatives and therefore justifying the need for even MORE feminism i think MORE FEMINISM will always be the solution

yea ok it's not a colossal victory, because like other's have already said, he was set up for massive defeat to begin with, and any actual victory was not possible simply because no matter how perfect anything he said was, she could just edit it out after. it was a small victory. just small enough that it wasn't edited out. it is such a difficult thing to do in a normal environment, let alone on a show like this where they literally have ALL the power to include or exclude whatever they want.

yeah I gotta constantly remind myself of my value - it's easy to fool yourself into thinking you are low value because you are on a path that takes a very long time to pay off (e.g. phd program/starting business, etc) still being broke in your 30s basically means you are worthless in their eyes, makes matters worse if you physical fitness suffers during that time to boot. oh well nobody to blame but myself for that and only one way to fix it

this is pure truth. my first sexual partner (I was hers too) were together for about 3 years before we finally split ways. and man did she ever go fucking crazy. she fucked so many losers. and she was the kind of girl you would NEVER expect to be like that, like kept her virginity until she was 21, so you'd assume she'd probably keep a pretty low N-count after that but nooooo way holy shit the best part was when i remember her phoning me one night panicking because she let some guy make a video …

They have a strict 50/50 gender quota for applications to most law schools now too. Out of 80 incoming L1's in my entrance year, there were exactly 40 guys and 40 girls. It made for great social life I admit for those of us guys that got in. But it must suck for the guys who deserve to get in with stronger applications than the women who take their seat instead because "equality".

Bullshit. If she wanted to leave out the details she could just leave them out. She made a point of, several times in one sentence, using words that suggest she was not at fault and could not have prevented the situation. This of course helps her narrative of "this time didn't really count because reasons". The necessary conclusion of her claims is that she was raped. Of course this is also pure bullshit.

I got her shirt off (which was more than I expected), and sucked on a bit of side boob for a while. I tried to take her bra off and she stopped me. Exactly. OP got a taste of the best Gronk life occasionally has to offer and is fighting to look cool. Street thugs do it as a way of life. Only times I've shown that type of aggression towards other males around women is when I was very intoxicated (i.e. not backing down from a cokehead in my face because I was feeling indestructible) Every time I looked like a retard, and always felt like one the next day.

The most prominent message I hear in TRP is "enjoy the decline". If you follow the news/social media you'll see that the west is way beyond saving, unless we get invaded suddenly on our own ground and the women realize men's value. But that's two unlikely "ifs" that multiply to an even less likely outcome.

Thanks for this, I've been wondering how to recognize/deal with LMR. But can't she now claim you raped her? Of course she could anyway, but now she could by simply bending the truth. She officially said 'no' and you ignored it.

It’s said that the male ego is as fragile as a woman’s heart and unfortunately for women, men won’t take the chance of letting it shatter. While women willingly put themselves out there, men stand back, scared of the tiniest bruise on their overinflated self-image. So yet again, women must be the strong ones. We must put ourselves out there and risk rejection. I guess putting on makeup, making eye contact with you then looking away quickly is considered "putting herself out there". They don't ha…

So what do you do if you find a LTR worthy girl who does everything for you, worships you, and is submissive and feminine and everything you want. Is there anything you can offer you in replacement to marriage that will keep her around? Because if she's smart, she won't stick around if you won't commit; her clock is ticking. The other problem is that (at least in Canada) entering into a non-married commonlaw living arrangement is just as bad as divorce rape.

I went there to hang out with a buddy but the opportunity arose so had to at least try. but yeah you're right I should find a place to go where abundance is there

This is chillingly accurate. That's why I've learned being a gentleman is never worth it. Beat her to the fucking punch. Make her the last person to know about the video so she can't turn it against you. Wasn't really a clarification so much as that he straight up contradicted himself. The fact that OP lived with an all female group yet wasn't uncomfortable with this (opening her door and entering, not waiting for her to open it) just shows a lack of social development (in fairness probably being young). Lesson learned I'm sure. My guess is: OP: knock knock Girl: is getting dressed "Just a second!" OP: opens door because he didn't hear waht she said

It's not how he says? He's quoting you directly! In your OP you said she opened the door. It makes a huge difference. If you opened the door yourself from the outside and she was naked, you'd be a fool to not expect that to label you instantly as the household creep.

I spent so much time in the exact same boat as you. Throw a speed addiction into the mix just to make it even worse. All the things you are mad at yourself for, women can act exactly like that (and worse) and men still drool over them, chase them, and validate them over and over again. And they still act like they are oppressed by society's double standards. That was the reason for my anger phase. Whatever your motivation for it, use it to your advantage. no worries man. I'm rooting for you. message me anytime if you want to unload some bullshit. I kinda know what you're going through (Different drug of choice, but addiction nonetheless) look up "ulnar nerve glides" on youtube too. its a useful exercise you can do before any sort of pushups. That pesky clicking that you might feel in your elbows/shoulder will go away if you do the gliding thoroughly before you do any pushups

If you aren't already, take lots of fish oil every day. That should help with your elbow at least. It may help with back and wrists a bit too but don't expect miracles. Also, find somewhere with a smith machine, and use it for incline pushups. The grip on the bar should be way better for your wrists than pushups on a flat surface would be. Your chronic pain from CTS in your wrists is going to make things challenging but don't give up. Halt any exercise that seems to be aggravating your condition…

I've fallen into this trap too. The reason being, it's easy. They don't care if you have game. They just want your body. Might be worth it cautiously once or twice to get your confidence up. But you won't improve your game hitting on cougars. They will validate you no matter what you say and you could actually get worse at your game even though it seems like it's working. They make you feel like you are Chad when you are really not.

there are exceptions of course, the top few percentile will get sniped by huge companies like google, facebook, twitter, apple, microsoft, etc. and they will do absurdly well right off the bat. but the average person who gets Bs in all his classes and learns the material but does not have any sort of special "spark" or innovative ability will be lumped in with the masses in meager paying cubicle jobs (at least to start)

There is some truth to this. The difference being men are more willing to date in their league. Like an athletic guy should not be made to feel guilty for passing up a hambeast. Whereas a fat fedora-wearing neckbeard... well you could make a good case.

This is totally true. Young feminists screaming about how they are "victims of the patriarchy" are truly victims of the matriarchy. They are tricked by people like big red into wasting their best years fighting an imaginary war. It's really sad actually. Seeing things this way have really helped me with the anger phase which I think I'm almost through with.

Good post. I often get fake IOI from women who want to try to manipulate me into doing their homework (I work in a tutoring center so it's my job to help students figure out concepts they are struggling with). When I was fat and presented myself like shit I used to immediately recognize them for what they are. Now that I've gotten a more athletic physique, and groom myself each morning, and know my SMV has improved, it's hard to tell if they are legitimate or not. Either way they are off limits …

Orange is the new black - perfect example. I watched this show during my early recovery from heavy drug use during a time when my brain was still healing and recovering. I totally bought into their subliminal messages when I was in a vulnerable state. I soaked that shit up and I was even arguing BP/feminist agendas to my buddy who was complaining about female priviledge. He laughed so hard when I told him I found TRP, lol. Yeah I'm practicing being more social in public places, talking to lots of people. Flirting but not actually straight up approaching cold with intention of grabbing numbers. But mostly I'm just monking, (see my reply to RP-doctor for my short term plan over the next few months). Also, I agree that you are correct. This could be my last year in school as a student, and I don't wanna waste that opportunity. Once I'm a professor everything changes and they are all off limits.

Thanks for the encouragement man. I do lift, but I started from a really weak skinny-fat point (although I have made huge improvements) so I'm just not there yet. By the time I am, I hope to already be done on this campus anyway. So I'm just monking until then. What I'm saying is that I straight up reject my current SMV and am withdrawing from the dating market until I improve it. That is what monk mode is for, am I correct?

Specific to #2. Since you are 47 years old, if you haven't been lifting for the past while, you will have to go at it from a more cautious angle than someone in their twenties. I started lifting seriously at 30 years old, with plenty of persistant injuries, and chronic inflamation in my shoulders/elbows/lower back. It's just harder, and I assume you will have challenges that even I cannot understand. But it can be done. I bet if you monk mode hard you can still present a highly athletic physique…

Yeah I had the exact same symptoms. Honestly the night sweats were the worst. You just keep waking up every time you fall asleep. Your brain cannot function because you're probably sleeping an hour a day total. Pure misery. Also, if you just got it three weeks ago, you still have it. Hope you're feeling better and recover quickly. Drinking 4L a day of water minimum helps flush that spleen out.

Man it was a good post. If you've never had mono, just don't go out looking to swap spit with every slut out there thinking it's risk free. That's the message I got. The people who have never had mono knock them down in life just won't get it (until they get it).
/r/TheRedPill20/10/15 04:35 PM
1

I caught mono from making out with slutty drugged out girls at raves when I was 19. In fairness, the drugs present in that scene even further lower your immune system and increase the risk. But drinking alcohol at a bar and doing something similar still presents a risk.
/r/TheRedPill20/10/15 04:33 PM
1

It's true. I almost had to drop out of school for a semester over it. Fortunately my mother took care of me like a nurse, and thanks 100% to her I recovered fast enough to pull my shit together for exams and I still managed to humiliate the rest of the people in half my classes by fucking up the curve for them.
/r/TheRedPill20/10/15 04:32 PM

I think what he's saying is: don't be indiscriminant in your conquests. Yes you have to take risks by putting yourself out there, but most people think of making out with a stranger as relatively harmless and may let their guard down even with trash who are not worth the risk. Just something to keep in mind whenever you make a choice to get physical with a random stranger.
/r/TheRedPill20/10/15 04:30 PM

This is why I have completely given up on the idea of dating while working on my PhD. Being a 30+ year old student walking around with a backpack is incredibly unattractive. It completely doesn't matter to them that I've been in school this whole time working on something incredibly hard to attain, which will have huge payoff in the future. So chasing women and getting rejected because of my lower perceived SMV accomplishes: lowering my self-esteem distracting my from what my focus should be, fi…

When I was in my first year of university, we were given this goofy group project in a history class with vague instructions. We got put in a room to prepare an argument for a side of a debate that none of us really agreed upon and were really negative about the whole thing. We quickly degenerated into wasting our class time torn between presenting arguments for the opposing side and bitching about the assignment. Very unproductive. I'm pretty new to TRP myself, but let me take a stab at it. Thinking it is your duty to help is BP. Being willing to help because you expect something in return is BP, and beta. For the first month, especially for people in their late 20s or older, their joints need "cleaning". I think low weight high rep is ideal early on, while all the small muscles and joints get ready to handle actual weight. When you've been inactive for a long time your muscles can handle more than your tendons/joints/ligaments can. If you lift as much as you can, you run a high risk of injury.

On days where I just feel like watching TV instead of going to the gym, I just tell myself I'll go to the gym anyway and then forcefully grab the remote (unless the situation would deem it unwise which is rarely the case) and change the channel to whatever I like. I usually end up either not even doing this, or if I do I don't waste too much time watching TV there anyway. As a recovering amphetamine addict, I can concur to this to a significant degree. I quit amphetamines almost 8 months ago now (and still have intense cravings from time to time which last for days) but trying to say no to certain foods I am used to having at certain times of day still is hard for me. as for the addiction thing. you can easily tell when someone who has never truly experienced it is spouting off about it from their soap box. there is no such thing as an addict who can't kick the habit regardless of propensity to get addicted, blaming the game/junk food/drugs is a cop out, and there are plenty who can kick the habit or bring it down to moderate levels of usage. Timidly, I saved out a new version of the glyph file, not sure if I was breaking any rules and half expecting a bunch of angry designers to message me asking why I was messing up Facebook’s glyph kit. Instead, and somewhat magically, the new icons began to appear in new products across the company and our many platforms. This part really gets me. Why does she insist that she did it "timidly"? She did it without asking permission, therefore she did it maliciously, not "timidly". This is evident b…

Yeah but who are the young guys that will want to have anything to do with you? And yeah my grandpa was tough as shit. But he also started a family, and his kids did too, which is the only reason I met him. None of this shit happens if you don't have kids.

This is an interesting point. Not starting a family frees you up so much in your younger/middle-aged years. But in the 60s and 70s, when your parents, aunts, uncles, and many friends, cousins, and siblings are either drifted away or dead themselves, how will you find fulfillment? Is it not these years where you reap the rewards of the sacrificed required to start and raise a family?

when women say they aren't encouraged enough to go into technically demanding fields and then use that to justify why the fields are dominated by men, I think they are honestly imagining that boys, from a young age, are actually hand-held, coddled, and led into these fields while the girls are led into another room to be distracted by barbies and dollhouses. they don't realize the way things actually work, because they are living in a totally different world

I don't see any point that you haven't made in the post I replied to. I will concede this: If they develop some sort of routine where he is passive until she gives him some sort of verbal cue to act manly, then suddenly he turns his masculinity on for her at that moment, then yeah he's just being a bitch still. But for that matter, he hasn't actually taken control, he's just playing puppet and masquerading as being more manly. But if he takes her complaints seriously and starts to genuinely chan…

You are equating control with responsibility, when I think control would more accurately be linked with delegation. I highly doubt that taking control and being more dominant would result in the outcome you describe.

I admit I never watched the whole thing so I could be misunderstanding the point. But (true) software engineering takes years of training and dedication. The fact that women expect to be able to walk in straight out of an 8 hour instagram/facebook/twitter marathon and contribute their opinions to get a "well deserved slice" of the multibillion dollar industry is insulting to those who actually work in the field.

The problem is that you get some people on here who leave out a crucial detail that they are actually 15 years old and their moms are paying the bills. I can run about 3-3.5 miles in around 30 minutes (though I fell off the wagon about a month ago so I'll have to work up to that all over again). Should I just do this later in the evening and then slam a protein shake right before bed?

Note: I don't think rowing a boat is a fair example of "needing your brain for your job". I'm not saying rowing isn't technical or that you don't have to be smart to be good at it. I'm having a really hard time with this in my 30s. My metabolism is much slower than it was in my 20s, and I NEVER drink shit like sodas, and I very RARELY eat shitty pub food or junk food (and when I do, I don't expect to make any progress). Like maybe this happens for about 4-5 days per month. And if it does it's not like a binge, I might just have a burger/fries for dinner one night and then get back on the wagon the next day.
