Do you seriously listen to the words women say? Here's a little advice:

First, always watch a person's actions. Never her words. This applies to men, too, actually. Watch actions, not words.

Second, assume every word somebody tells you is at least partially false. That doesn't mean you don't listen to the words at all, just that you listen to them for what they're good for. When somebody tells you something, you don't know what parts are true and what parts are lies, and maybe you never will. But you do know one thing with 100% certainty: That person has told you what she wants you to think is the truth.

You learn a lot about someone by what she wants others to believe to be true.

Don't get mad about this. Hell, you might should have just walked up and said, "Thank you!" Though the likelihood is that this was just blather (watch what women actually do, not what they say), you may have witnessed an actual unguarded moment. If that is the case, you got an "honest" look at the female psyche. You got a peek into the kitchen, as messy as it is.

Her plan seems rational. If all women were as rational, at least the deal would be crystal clear to everyone.

Women look at men the same way a man looks at a job, an opportunity to move up. Move up the social ladder by fucking a cool guy and make her friends jealous, or move up the life ladder by getting a husband that will provide. It's not unsettling to me.

If my agenda is to have sex well..."I can't put my dick in her degree." So I wouldn't care where she went to school or if she does at all. So yah I just admitted that I've knowingly gone out with losers. The difference is I have the self-awareness (and hopefully control) to not fall for a girl who has their agenda to be access to my resources. Do all guys have that? Maybe somewhat. Do they all have the self-control to not fall for it? Probably not.

People are always told you can be whatever you want to be in society. I think females in general are always told "you can do better" when it comes to men. It's more normal and expected than anything.

So yes I do not find it unsettling because I find it normal.

You sound overly emotional, for a scientist. Had you studied 'history', you would have learned this is an age-old thing. Her looks and social skills matter - and women are pretty adaptable (and morally 'flexible') to a new environment.

Other than that: all those 'special' Yale men are responsible for their own personal choices. So, if they fall for the charms and wits of some small-town girl.... good for both of them!

Don't listen too much to other people: that includes small-town gold-diggers, the media, the internet. Too much noise, too much fluff. You're smarter than that, I presume?

The people who have attended this university have worked there butts off since they were about 10 years old. They are some of the best humans I have ever meet. They really deserve the success they have achieved. They themselves only deserve the best, espically when it comes down to choosing their female counterparts.

Do you think that they know about this? Do you think they would pay attention to this, given the chance? Do you think they would care about it even if they knew it?

In her world she believes she worked hard to get where she is. She (and most women and men) can't even realize what other people have been through their lifes, and honestly, they don't care.

You don't understand that this is her war. To secure good genes and provisions for her future children is her absolute goal, even if she isn't fully aware of it, and she will make stupid sacrifices to get it.

This is just like a man walking past a skyscraper and going "I'm going to own this building one day." It's a stupidly ambitious goal, and he probably won't get it, but damn if it doesn't give you something to kick your ass out of the bed in the morning.

My question is, why have you given up on your dreams?
