Usually, with OLD, it's the guy I'm talking to who pushes to take the conversation to Snapchat, Instagram, or text message. I acquiesce when it comes to Snapchat (I never post stories/share my location), don't give them my Instagram/other social media, and acquiesce with the request for my number by giving them my Google Voice number.

I have a bad feeling about the way I've been so willing to comply with the request to move the conversation to another platform. Guys often say it's "easier" conversing on social media/by text than on a dating app, but Snapchat doesn't display messages at the top of your screen as they come in - just like dating apps don't.

The biggest issue I have with giving out my Snap and even my Google Voice number is that I then have to un-friend/block/delete (it seems dating ends in this 99.99% of the time). So it seems like a bad investment for me to make my Snap and Google number available. Additionally, I perceive I'm being tested as to how easily I acquiesce to their requests. They typically ask for my social media after as few as 3 message exchanges on OLD apps.

Guys also ask for my social media to make sure I'm a real person. Do you think that's really the reason? I've always just assumed they were being honest. Ultimately though, it seems unnecessary - especially if we don't yet have any plans to meet up or do a Zoom date. They can always see I'm a real person over Zoom...
